Don't follow your Garmin, though, or you will end up on top of the Buffalo jump instead of at the interpretive/visitor's center. The visitor's center does not show up on maps for some reason, but it is one of the best parts of the park. It's very large and has many displays about the history of the jump and the indigenous peoples who utilized it for hundreds of years. In addition to the displays is a classroom, outdoor patio picnic area, and amphitheater seating. There is a 3 mile loop trail and you can hike from the visitors center to the top of the Buffalo jump and vice versa. There's parking for buses and campers since it is a destination for school trips. There are large prairie dog towns in two different areas of the park and panoramic views of every direction from the top. It should go without saying there is wildlife abound. A large herd of prong horn antelope was grazing on the morning of this visit. Lots of birds can be heard and there are rattlesnakes native to the are as well. Don't let that scare you, there is lots of signage to be aware when you visit.
