Just had a worst experience ever with this Spanish woman who was probably 40-50. Not a problem understanding her, but she was in a big hurry. Clipped me a couple times right to my skin and she goes. Oh, are you OK? I said yeah as long as you didn't draw blood. And then, I felt burned in the back of my neck cause she's scraping down so hard. I asked her for talcum powder and she gave me the death glare And all she did was complain about how busy they were.. Worst cut ever . Funny thing I went there about 6 to 8 weeks ago and I had the best cut ever from a different lady, a younger girl probably in her 20s. It's all a random crapshoot when you go to these places, but I don't have any time. read more

I have been to the old Great Clips over by Portillos many times with no problems. Well they moved over here by Mariano's and this is the second time I've been here. First time Amanda was my stylist. She did great. Second time yesterday I came here. A heavy set woman by the name Keri was my stylist. I just wanted a normal short haircut. Well she is coming to the end of finishing the job, and then she goes look down so she can get the neck line. I notice as she's cutting the neck line it doesn't feel very good. Later that night I came home and took my shower and when washing my hair my neck hurt very badly to touch. The next day my mom seen the back of my head and said what the heck happened? So I realize it was from Keri's handywork here at Great Clips that left me in horrible pain. Zero Stars. read more

The woman that cut my daughter's hair was very unprofessional and even rolled her eyes at me. It was my fault for not seeing the reviews first. Apparently it happens all the time. I wish I could have gotten her name, but the lady who did my 2 year olds haircut was absolutely horrible. She was disrespectful to my husband, and didn't want to finish the job bc he was crying. Listen, I get it, kids move, if you don't feel comfortable then don't take him. There's not really kid haircut places local at all, so just say no if you aren't up to the job! She asked us what we wanted to finish or be done, by husband said he' would like to try to finish the top of his head, well she cut her finger and shouted "we are done!" Usually go to the great clips further north. Never had a problem but had to come to this one because of a long wait at my normal one. Always get the same cut, start with a 1 on the sides and fade into a two and then little longer than finger length on top... not even close. Not blaming the whole story but my one styleist was awful. First drenched my head in water that was running down my face the entire cut so i had to ask for a towel, then she sprayed more. She started with the clippers I'm sure but then spent 15 min trying to blend it... at the same time making it so short that it was barely a 1 app the way up. And then she atarted on the top. Every other stylist I've ever had has me face the mirror. Gah some hair and say, "how does this length look" before they start cutting. I spent the ENTIRE cut looking at the front door so I had NO idea what was going on up there until The end when she says "is this short enough?" And now is when I find out, it's less than finger length. I style my hair with gel for work... it's so short now i can't even do that. Will never go back to this store. Now I get to wait 2 weeks for my hair to grow enough so that it looks decent. read more

I've been rocking the same doo for like 8 years now. Clearly it's not a tough style, little of the top, fade up the sides and get me the hell out. I love that they keep your phone number on record and they already know what you got last time. Barber: "So you want the same thing as last time?" Joe: "Fer sheezy" Barber "What?" Joe: "Um, yes, I would like the same thing as last time" The place is always clean and the change barbers more than I change my socks but they do good work. Sometimes, depending on the day and time, there is a bit of a wait, but I've started using their online check-in, so I never have wait too long. This dude cut my hair soooooooo much! Like I asked for "a trim because its a little overgrown". Three inches later I have the saddest excuse for a hairstyle because of him. I might've well have gotten a buzz cut. If I don't super like a style when I'm done I go home shower and style myself and it comes out looking good. But I just tried salvaging this train wreck but there's nothing left to work with. Next time I go I will refuse to let him touch my hair. Sorry if that's rude but if you think changing my whole head from anything it looked like when I first came in is okay especially when I asked for the same just a little bit of a trim then you're rude. Usually I bring my 10 year old son for a quick and cheap trim. I have done it myself with the trimmers but it takes me longer to do and the clean-up is a pain. I always bring a coupon but I always tip $5 which is almost 50% tip for their prices. I know this is not a high end salon and these girls rely on the fast in and out service and like to leave their shift with cash in their pockets. On this visit I was skipped over even though I checked in on-line and my sons name was clearly at the top of the list. One of the girls asked for another phone number because the one I checked in with wasn't recognized by their system. I went through a few old numbers and finally, exasperated, the girl behind the counter took my last name and proceeded to tell me the "correct" phone number I have in their system (with a smile smothered in attitude) which was THE ONE I CHECKED IN WITH! Unless you get the one woman who works there and actually appears to like her job, don't expect any sort of customer service. The one girl who actually did smile, did it with such attitude I almost walked out then and there. The haircut was fine (did I mention I have no training and could pretty much do it myself?) The girl who cut my sons hair barely made eye contact with me, never smiled and made me feel like I was bothering her by being there. She never once talked to my son other than look down, turn your head, etc. It was 7pm. Maybe it was the end of her shift. Maybe she had a bad headache. Maybe her cat just died. Either way, I don't like to bring my business places where I can't get the slightest bit of courtesy. I will have to move on from here. There are plenty of inexpensive places to get a haircut in the area and I suppose Great Clips will never even miss us. read more
