This was the only hair salon I could find in the south bay open after 7pm on weekdays (they close at 8pm), so they already get stars in my book for the later hours, accommodating crazy/busy schedules like mine. I checked in online, but there was no wait when I walked in less than an hour before closing time (two customers were currently getting haircuts, one of them just finishing up), but I needed to fill out my personal info on the tablet at the front counter since it was my first visit to this location, so that took me a couple minutes. The haircut itself was no more than 10 minutes long. The staff got me in and out, no lame efforts to upsell products, no unnecessary small talk, just the way I like it.... There was no outstanding gesture of friendliness or assistance while I was there, but they asked the right questions, gave simple and direct instructions and wait times, and provided quick and efficient service. My hair stylist, Connie, worked her magic effortlessly. I just wanted a simple trim. She didn't chop off too much, and left me with long subtle layers... exactly what I asked for. And she did it super quickly, and differently than other stylists I've been to before... like she knew a shortcut to getting it done (and done well!). I did get nervous when she picked up the hair clippers toward the end and I heard the buzzing along my back (I have long hair, why would she need the clippers?!?), but no harm done, everything looked good, that's really all that matters. Went in for a regular haircut. I checked in online and therefore didn't have to wait long. It was nice how they saved your previous cuts so you can be in and out efficiently. I personally wanted a little longer cut than my regular style and wasn't disappointed by the results. My hair stylist Thao was friendly, quick, and professional. They have a check in system online, it tells us to come right in, no wait time. We go in and there's two people sitting waiting to be cut and someone getting cut. My boyfriend is sitting here waiting for 30 minutes (when it said to come right in).During the first 10 minutes of his waiting one of the cutters (which there were only 2) decides to disappear for at least 20 minutes. No one says anything it apologized on why we would have to wait so long. Finally the other one comes back and we are still having to wait for 2 more people to get a hair cut. Usually I come here right after i go to the gym about once every two weeks. Every time you go there's different people every time and its hard to get a consistent person. I don't really mind as long as they know what they are doing and my hair looks decent enough. However, today was so bad that i feel the convenience of this shop no longer worth it. I brought my son for his regular haircut at the salon today. We been there many times and the service is always great! Everyone is friendly with kids. But today my son had a stylist whom I never met before and she didn't look happy to see us. The wife and I both got a Great Clips coupon for a free haircut from last Saturday's 49ers game. I guess that was the only good thing that came out of the game, since the 49ers did so badly. Le sigh. We had a weekday off from work, so we stopped by this Great Clips in the afternoon and were pleased to find no other customers there. We got our hair cut at the same time, and both our hairdressers were friendly and meticulous. My hairdresser gave me a good fade and trimmed my cowlick evenly to match the other side, which was nice since hairdressers often don't notice and I have to point out that one side looks uneven. The wife's hairdresser used some conditioner to make her hair more smooth, and then layered her hair, making sure it was even on both sides. Overall we were satisfied with the quality and speed of our respective haircuts. Haircuts are priced at $16, but my receipt had a coupon for $3 off if used in the next two months. This is still a little more than I would pay at my local barbershop, but it's nice to know that if I want a good, no-hassle haircut, this Great Clips is a decent place to go. read more

Found out there was a new Great Clips near my house and decided to give a shot. Good things because they are having some sorts of grand opening promotion right now. Haircut for guys is around $7, original price is $15. I was greeted by the manager when I got in and was quickly assigned to one of the hairstylists... i forgot her name... oops (old fart memory) She reviewed my hair and asked if I wanted the same hair cut design. I told her I wanted it a lot shorter, but she suggested that it might not be a good idea because I have a rounder face, and it might not be an ideal hairstyle. I was told the same thing by my friends before, so i opted for what she suggested instead. Overall, I really like the haircut and the small talks with my stylist. She's a pleasant lady to talk to. The place is very clean and new. It's actually located in a brand new plaza, along with a gym (I believe it is LA Fitness), T-Mobile, Subway, etc.. It doesn't generate a lot of foot traffic as of yet since it's still new. Better for me, less wait time i guess. I was in NEED of a haircut and all the barber shops were closed because I commute to and from San Francisco for work so I get home relatively late. Finally got to my destination and spotted the Great Clips sandwiched between this small strip. Parking was kind of difficult since it seemed like a high-volume area. I was a walk-in and luckily didn't have to wait because the people that scheduled an online appointment didn't show up. The person that cut my hair, Hsui (I believe that's his name) did an amazing job with my hair and truly loved it! Would love to come back and have him cut my hair again. I asked my salonist, Tatiana (hope I didn't butcher her name) to trim about half an inch only and to give me a fringe. She told me she would have to at least cut 1.5 inches because my split ends were just that bad. I was a little hesitant, but she trimmed exactly 1.5 inches and my ends looked a lot healthier. Tatiana really listened to me and tried to figure out what to do with my short hair. Since I usually keep my hair long, she did a great job cutting my hair so that it would grow out well; and it did! Tatiana was fun to talk to and she didn't make me feel rushed out of the chair even though it was a busy day. I filled out the form and off I went. It wasn't until later in the day that I realized that I would like a picture of my hair with the form, for keepsake purposes.
