I had some extra time in when town to pick up my dog from the groomers so I thought I'd get groomed myself! I showed up at just the right time. I was told they were busy all day and it had just quieted down when I arrived. I checked in online and maybe waited two minutes once I got there. Theresa was available and she cut my hair in about 15 minutes and I was quickly on my way, right when the groomers called to say my dog was ready! Today, 4 8 25. I went to get a haircut and when I got there they said that I had to have cash because everything was down. So I told bucola to put my name down and I would go get cash at the bank. I went to the bank and the ATM was down so I had to go through the drive-thru. I finally got back and bucola and another lady was at the front desk. I told her I had cash she started walking to her chair and I was following her. Then I noticed the lady that was she was talking to behind the counter was following her also. And she sat down in her chair. I said I thought I was next and she said have a seat. So I sat down for a few minutes and then I said no I'm not waiting after running all over the place to get cash and I asked her to put my name down and I come back and it's she took somebody in front of me. Awful place. Brought my son in for an easy, small trim. He's letting his hair grow long, so literally just the edges needed to be trimmed. The woman couldn't get it, trimmed completely uneven, and had to get help from another stylist. I had to just leave because I couldn't let her do anymore. Usually it's all good but I think I just got the worst haircut of my life. Have an event to go to and now I have to go to a different place to get them to fix what the top of my head looks like. It looks like l my 5 year old nephew tried to fade my hair. Before I found this place I would drive into Dallas to get an $80 haircut and beard trim, but not anymore. Fades for days! Same quality cut you would expect from a high end salon without breaking the bank! Highly recommend Eleanor for your hair and/or beard trim. After growing my beard out for multiple years, I'm certainly very particular when it comes to getting it trimmed and making it look right, and Eleanor and this place certainly delivers! read more

My son and I arrived at 5:40 p.m. . The operation hours sign clearly states that the salon closes at 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays. The doors were locked, the lights were off. There were still 2 staff members in the salon. One staff member was hiding under the desk and she came up from under her desk 4 times, made eye contact with us and went back down to hide from 3 customers, one other customer arrived while this was going on. We returned to our car to wait. At 5 minutes after 6:00 the two staff members left the business. They denied 3 customers service during business hours because they couldn't be bothered. So, I've never EVER had a bad experience with this place, until now. Went in, and this girl walked up to me who I've never seen before, she started doing my hair, thinned my hair with the shears at my SCALP. Now I've got all these patches in my hair line, of missing hair. My hair covers it, but I'm still very well pissed off with the more I find. I ended up going back because once I got home I noticed it was all uneven, how in the hell do you get through cosmetology school?! The assistant manager ended up fixing what she could, and she was very nice. I'm still going to be taking this up with the manager and I want my money back, I didn't spend $25 ($5 being a tip) for my hair to come out like this! If she has a problem refunding that money, I will definitely take my business elsewhere along with going to someone higher up... I agree, know who you're hiring, this girl is a complete dumbass. Can't we have Julius back? PLEASE! I knew I shouldn't had let her touch my hair, Claudia and Julius are fantastic hairdressers, and I should had asked Claudia to do it. read more

I actually liked my hair cut! (I forgot the hair dressers name) but it was nice. The only thing I hated was that she seemed like she didn't care about her job. She washed my hair once with one hand looking at other customers. Then she cut it and left it as is. When I told her I wanted it curled she said, "styling is extra money. I'll just put something in it." So it just seemed like she didn't want to even fix my hair. Customer service just seems poor here. Probably won't be returning. read more

They just lost three customers. I took my grandson to get a haircut here and the person cutting it was not friendly at all in fact a bit rude. After I looked at his hair after he had gotten it cut it was gapped. I usually leave a $5 tip for each haircut we get there but now we're not going back. read more

This is my family's go-to place to get a haircut. I came in for a drastic cut, lopping off a foot of hair, and my stylist did an amazing job of making me look fantastic even with a completely new style. My sister also come in frequently, and although she only gets a trim, she is wheelchair bound and not very fond of haircuts. Almost every stylist that has worked with her has been kind and patient and simply wonderful in helping her, even when she gets frustrated. Every time I've been in, the service has been efficient, excellent, and fun. I truly enjoy going to this Great Clips and have recommended it to several friends. read more

He went in to get a military style hair cut, she was making rude comments about scaring from motorcycle accidents on my husband's head. She was also disrespectful regarding military. I took both my daughters to get their hair trim before school starts. The stylist (Claudia) called my daughter back and washed her hair. She then took my daughter back to her chair and that's when it all went down hill. Claudia started expressing extreme frustration with how knotted my daughter's hair was. Keep in my mind my daughter is Samoan so she has course hair and swims every day competitively so she does tend to have tangled hair which I have never had a problem removing. You can tell throughout the appointment that Claudia was extremely frustrated and at one point even rolled her eyes. She then called me over and was saying "looking at this, she has all this dirt and crap in her hair and I mean its really knotted and I just don't know" while shrugging her shoulders.This salon was full so many people were able to hear this conversation. At this point, she then made another seen by calling another stylist over and trying to point out that my daughter has lice. I immediately realized what was going on and let her know that my daughter struggled with a dry scalp and dandruff. She then looked at me and blew out her breath and indicated that she felt like it was lice. The other stylist did in fact, confirm and agreed with me that this was dandruff. My daughter is 11 years old so is at a pivotal point in building her self-esteem. It was obvious that she wanted us to leave so we left with wet hair and my daughter not getting her haircut. My daughter was in tears the whole way home, embarrassed and has now decided she never wants to go to another salon. Now this is my message to Claudia which I doubt you are even reading because you seem to you hate your job. I use to manage high-end salons (side note- I was not a stylist but the manager who coached and made sure each guest had an amazing experience) and there is an appropriate way to communicate these situations in a professional matter which I am assuming you missed that day in class at the busted beauty school you went to in mesquite. If a child does have knotted hair (which is common) the first step would be to do all you can to remove the knots including a deep conditioning treatment. Keep in mind that you should be doing this while exhibiting a positive attitude and doing your best to make your client feel comfortable and happy. If it comes to a point that it is truly matted to the point that you can not do anything that is when you quietly pull the mother to the side and explain in a calm polite manner that you are struggling with detangling the hair and ask if the mother has a certain trick to remove the knots. Which if I as her mother, who has no formal training on hair, can remove tangles then you should be able to as well. As far as lice is concerned, instead of calling your colleague over to your chair and making it obvious that you are inspecting for lice you should have told your client "I will be right back" then you should have pulled your colleague to the side in a backroom away from other customers and explain that you think there is a possibility of lice. You have should then escorted your colleague to the client and introduced him and said "John doe" is going to look at your hair and offer me some advice and help on how to treat your hair. If the child then, in fact, did have lice you should have gone back to a separate room to confirm your findings. You should have then called the mother back and explained that after inspecting the child's scalp that you think it is a possibility that their child might have lice and unfortunately cannot finish the service. Claudia, DISCRETION is key. Even you have personal struggles at home, leave them at the door. I worked with so many stylist who were going through personal life crisis such as breast cancer, losing their home to a fire, losing a mother to suicide but as soon as they walked through the door they left their problems at the door and did their best to ensure that their clients had a positive uplifting experience. I will make sure to inform your manager, GM, as well as corporate. I hope your day was better than my daughters. If you hate what you do then make a change. Part of being a stylist is making others feel beautiful and great amount themselves. A client should never walk away feeling ashamed and humiliated. read more

This place has screwed up my hair 9 times out of 10. The most recent visit they ended up not even asking if I wanted any product or any thing and she went on to thinning my hair without asking. She didn't put water in my hair or anything before during or after the appointment, and left my sides all sorts of messed up. Not worth $3 let alone $15. read more
