I recently went to Great Clips on Main Street, Oakley, near Lucky supermarket for a haircut. I spoke with one hairdresser in the front who asked me to sit down for my turn. I waited for more than 40 minutes before somebody could call me. There seems to be no concept of following the sequence; rather, these hairdressers pick and choose the customer. The staff seems to pick up customers based on their preference and perhaps tips. I saw one after other customers being called who came later than me. The staff looks at you scornfully if you try to hint the hairdresser that you were here before their customer. If not all most of the staff delay working on their existing customers so that they can choose their next favorite customer. Then the hairdresser did an abysmal job of cutting the hairs. She used the wrong blade size and didn't care about my existing hairstyle at all or what I asked for. She kept using the machine all over my head even after asking her to use cizors simultaneously. The other hair dressers kept cutting the hair of their customers, but my hairdresser finished all her job in 10 minutes and told me that it was complete. It seems a 25% tip is not enough for the hairdressers here. It is not only that a hairdresser did a terrible job and the staff is rude and will offend you. I want to give them (minus 10)/ -10 (worse) of the total 10 but their is no alternative/selection. read more

Occasionally there is a short wait. The ladies seem nice! They remember his name, the cut he likes, and always ask if he wants his hair washed. They seem very personable. Been coming here since 2017. I never had a problem with the hair cuts. However, they need to improve their wait time. I showed up after checking in on line. I showed up on time. There was one client in the chair getting his hair cut and there was another salon person there as well, so there were at least 2 salon persons present. I checked in and identified I had an appointment and sat down. I was the only one there waiting and they still kept me waiting an additional time. There was no acknowledgement that we will be with you sir. I got tired of waiting and left. I now have changed hair salons and I get my hair cut some where else up the street. Please attend to your customers who have an appointment and are waiting. Show acknowledgement and give eta when they can attend to them. Otherwise there is no point having an online appointment and making them wait. I gave 3 stars because of this. read more

Worst haircut of my life. I haven't cut my hair in 3 years and I went in with a picture of what I was looking to get. Sonia barely looked at the picture. She parted my hair into 4 sections leaving a small layer of hair in the back, which seemed normal. She verified the length I wanted and I agreed. Then she let the rest of my hair down and cut it all together around my head. I'd never seen anyone cut hair like this. It was as if I was getting a "bowl" cut except it was at my shoulders. I could hear her dull scissors chopping at my hair. She hands me the mirror and continuously tussled my hair as I was trying to look at the cut. When I noted that the front was not the same length on the sides of my face, she reached between my face and the handheld mirror to cut some hair off the opposite side. The bottom is not at all straight. In fact there's a pretty big dip on one side. I'm still finding hairs she completely missed. I'm so disappointed, I went to my car and just sobbed. She knew she messed up because she didn't charge me. My husband is convinced she did this on purpose. All I know is I need to find a better stylist. :( read more

Don't bother checking in online. This store doesn't understand how online check in is supposed to work. They just put you at the back of the line when you get there. They do this every time so I'll start going to the one off lone tree. This store is a horrible experience every time. The manager is so rude and doesn't understand the computer system. I had a screen shot showing when I checked in, I was ahead of all the walk ins but it didn't matter. She treats everyone as a walk in and moves you to the end of the line when you get there. Respectable place for a haircut although there are some questionable stylists up in this place. While I've never had a haircut here, my friend goes almost every 2-3 weeks to see Maria and she does an ok job however misses some spots almost every time. I think one of the draws about this place is that they accept their own and competitor's coupons which in this economy is really cool. There is almost never a wait which can be good and bad. This business will not let a person use the toilet. Anyone out there that doesn't need to use a toilet ? I don't think so. I was getting frantic about it because there is no other place to use one and i took an elderly person in for a haircut and we had to wait over an hour . ..It isn't right. I know the problem but it doesn't matter, everyone needs to use a toilet once in a while. A paying customer should be able to use the restrooms especially those with a disability. Getting sick and tired of checking in online and getting put in the back of everyone that shows up in the store after me!! Here's the quote from the website "Online Check-In lets you add your name to the list at your local Great Clips salon. After you've checked in online, you'll know what your estimated wait is so you can make the best use of your time before you head to the salon. Once you arrive at the salon, chances are you'll be next or almost next on the list." And I've confirmed before, like it says the whole point of this is to hold your place in que so you minimize your wait in the shop. When I bring it up that can't explain it in the store. And if they were at least consistent I'd be less irritated but I've come here several other times not checking in to be told this person checked in online, so we're helping him first! Then they get defensive when you ask or question this. You suck! Your customer service sucks! And apparently how well you train your people sucks! Wish there was a competing chain near by. Because the two other locations surrounding this one have done the same thing. I'll do my best to remember to get my hair cut when I'm away from home so I don't have to tolerate this as much as possible! read more

Don't bother with the online check in and if it says it has the shortest wait time in the area don't believe it. Checked in and it said 11 minute wait a way better wait time than the 45 mins in Brentwood. Go inside with a 1 minute wait and there's 3 ppl waiting, and 2 employees they don't say anything to us, we take a seat they help someone else then finally the lady says did u check in online, 'yes'! The lady cancels are check in and says 'I'll be with you in a minute' then helps someone who's else! The check in time on the app updates and looks like there's a short wait, because they cancel the appointment once you arrive! Thumbs down! The lady that cut my hair was slow as can be, and I still had to cut all the long hair she missed, even when I pointed it out to her. The service at this place is terrible. Me and my husband been there for a a couple of times. Waiting time is ridiculously long and on top of that the stylist never ever understands simply instructions about how shorter my husband wants his hair. This time, the stylist on the very near station closest to the entrance door, she actually tested the razor on my husband head, basically shaving his head on one side entirely screwing up his usual and desirable look, Then, with a malicious smile asked him if it was right.
