Absolutely Devastated by My Haircut Experience I've been to this Great Clips location several times before and had decent experiences, but my most recent visit was a complete nightmare. I came in requesting a long inverted bob -- a cut I've had done here in the past -- and I made it very clear to the stylist that I do not like short hair. I even emphasized that short hair makes me uncomfortable, that I wouldn't know what to do with it, and that I would cry if it was cut too short. I showed him a photo, explained that I needed the front to stay longer, and reminded him that my naturally curly hair shrinks when dry. He acknowledged all of this -- and then proceeded to ignore everything I said. He made the first cut, which was already shorter than I wanted. I was surprised and told him not to go any shorter. Despite this, he kept cutting. By the end, my hair -- which was previously past my shoulders -- was hacked into something completely unrecognizable. The back is maybe two inches long, and the front barely reaches my ears. It's the worst haircut I've ever received in my life. To make matters worse, I reached out to Great Clips customer service, who told me the franchise owner would contact me. It's been over a week, and I haven't heard a single word. I can't even tie my hair back to hide it -- I'm genuinely embarrassed to leave the house. I would never recommend this location -- or any Great Clips -- to anyone who values being listened to, respected, or walking away with a haircut that doesn't make you cry. What ever you do, DON'T let .. JASON the GAP king or Cherry the speed queen touch your hair !! When I being the only person in the waiting area requested anyone other than JASON, He became very RUDE , hit a sign on the register and stated, " you cannot choose who does your hair, I told him that I was not choosing, I was simply eliminating one person. And because of the terrible job that he had done before, he started getting loud and threatened to have me trespassed if I didn't leave. He stated that he didn't care if I did call customer service and began to rattle off corporates number. I called and registered a complaint, I was told that the owner would contact me... NEVER HEARD ANYTHING FROM ANYONE !!! I then left and went to HAIR ON MAIN. The best experience ever!! Needless to say, I will never return to such a hostile place as Great clips. read more

I had such a rude experience! unbelievable really. she didn't want to hear me explain how I wanted my hair cut. Took offense to it. Asked me if I went to beauty school after she told me my hair was damaged. Asked me if I told chefs how to cook when I asked her to leave the style at the back the same. the whole time she was chatting with the guy cutting hair next to her, and looking at him like they were sharing an inside joke while she was putting me in my place. I finally refused her to cut my hair. the two of them were like bullies. there's more but just unbelievable. It turns out the manager is out of town and they had a couple of staff from other locations there. WOW the two of them lost this salon another customer along with my girlfriend who was dumbfounded at the antics there. It was such a tense atmosphere with everyone hearing her and afraid to speak. She actually told me I was disrespectful for telling her how I wanted my hair cut! Having worked in the public all my life I treat the service industry with deep respect, now I'm the customer and these two had no problems with the way they treated me. I will never be back! I can tell this place sucks with all the negative reviews. They embarrassed me in front of the salon, when I refused to go to 2 different stylists that butchered my hair previously. I was told I couldn't request a stylist who has always done great work. I give more than 25 percent tips when my hair is cut well. They kept telling me I couldn't request a stylist who I would have waited an hour or more for, and that I couldn't keep waiting for a stylist that hadn't done a bad job on my hair previously. I said I had no problem waiting as long as it took to get someone good. They said that was not their policy to skip. How does a business stay in business treating a over 2 year regular customer this way. My hair, my pay, my time and I take good care of the stylist in a tip. The owner obviously doesn't have a clue about Customer service. For today's humiliation, I nor a friend who always goes there will never return. They can take their sub standard stylists and continue to ruin a customers hair cuts. By the way, after all the humiliation, I still to my own surprise stayed and went with a 3rd stylist who did a great job, and I gave her a 25 plus percent tip. I checked in online and my wait time was approximately 13 minutes. I walked in and personally checked in and sat inside for about 10 minutes, no big deal two other people came in that checked in online and they set them at the first two chairs on the left. Then there were three other hairstylist that finished up check them out and swept up their area and then walked to the back. I got up and walked out front with my back against the glass for about 10 more minutes, I went back inside, and everybody was still back, except for the two chairs on the left, meaning there were at least three stylist in the back still. I asked the lady at the first chair to go ahead and just take my name off the list and I went to another location. I would not recommend this location. The customer service is awful. read more

Used several of the local not so Great Clips, they have done nothing but get worse and charge more. Never get the same stylist and most are gone before your next cut. Do your self better find a local barber or spend the extra dollars for a good cut. read more

I don't even know where to start.. More like Great Disaster! If you like gambling then this is the place for you. If you're looking for a fade do not touch the front door of this place. My haircut was so bad I went to a neighboring salon and they told me I had to let it grow out for two weeks in order for them to fix it properly. This place is probably alright for kids and the elderly looking to save a penny. Go to the forest salon where you can make appointments, receive a hair wash/shampoo and a haircut that's not rushed for $14. Nothing was blended. I asked for a quarter inch to be taken off the top and not an inch or more. The sides are choppy and not blended properly. It's just a mess. I just wanted to get out of there as fast as possible. This is by far the worst salon I've ever been to. I have curly hair and I went in and some lady with black hair was about to start my hair and she tells me that she dosent know if she can get the knots out even if she charges the 8 dollars extra to wash my hair and the way she said it was super loud and humiliating and for reference I'm only 14 so i had to drive all the way home and wash my hair myself since she can't do her job. then I come in and some guy was gonna do my hair instead this time so I ask for a trim and in the rudest way possible he saiys you're asking for a trim but what you really want is a haircut, I think it's a women thing to think that trims and haircuts are the same. First of all I didn't need that comment and sorry I'm not a professional, maybe next time just do my hair and don't talk. We've tried to go to this great clips several times with the kids and today was our last day. The stylist argued about what we wanted for our son and then persisted to do what she wanted and didn't do what we asked. We most definitely will not be going back and my husband had to literally hold back from loosing it in the salon. We're done with this place. I tend to agree with the other reviews on here. You feel like sheep being led to the shearer. Big assembly-line operation to rush you through so they can get to the next client. Choppy haircut with little care given to fade. Worst part is, I'm retired military so have been to many different GC's and barbershops around the world. First GC I've been to that does NOT offer even a few dollars off for military discount. Go somewhere else where you're respected as a customer. read more

My stylist recently moved out of state so I've been bouncing here and there trying to find a new home for my hair so to speak. I am in love with the online check in. As an anxiety sufferer I despise talking on the phone so being able to check in with just the tap of a few buttons is definitely a plus for me. The waiting time blew my mind (in a good way). My boys and I desperately needed a haircut and we were literally up next as soon as we checked in. I live just a mile or some down the road so after a quick drive we were there and seated to get our hair cut. For THREE people to get a cut I only paid HALF of what I normally do for a trim for just me! (and I keep half my head shaved). All the ladies were extremely nice! My husband loved the music selection and was singing along while waiting for us to be finished. I have been going to different locations of Great Clips for over 15 years. I have never had such an experience with a business as we did over a week ago. We have a child with Autism, as anyone familiar with this condition, haircuts can be a complete nightmare. My son was treated very rough and the hairdresser ended up saying "I just can't do this" and refused to continue to cut his hair. Yes, he was upset...but most children with Autism struggle with haircuts. As long as the hairdresser can be patient, give breaks - he can complete a haircut. But when the hairdresser squirts water all over him and my wife who was holding him...brushes his hair roughly with a comb....does not even speak to him....yes, he is going to have a hard time. Mind you...what placed us over the top was when a racial comment was made that maybe he would be more comfortable with another hairdresser - who he did AMAZING with the previous trip to this salon - because she was black. Let me share...our son is adopted, he is black and we are white. Clearly - my son does not have an issue with the color of skin - he doesnt even recognize the difference at 6 years old. Only someone who is ignorant about Autism and skin color would make such a comment. My wife called the manager and even escalated to the owner of this salon. Each individual only made excuses for the hairdresser and claimed our statement about the race comment was not said. Neither was apologetic until I made the comment that they did not provide any type of customer service to my call. The only reason I called and escalated was out of courtesy, to explain our experience in hopes that they would speak to their employees and hopefully not do this to another family. DO NOT go to this salon!!!!! It will be the last time we ever step into a Great Clips again. read more

My husband and I have gone there four times. Twice he got a decent haircut. I received a good hair cut once. Two were OK but the last one was beyond awful. I have a very easy cut - an undercut with no layers - now my hair is so totally uneven and chopped at the ends I do not know what to do with it. Hot brushes, curling irons, flat irons - nothing will make this cut turn under. Total disaster. This place is like playing Russian roulette - take your chances. They do have a couple of good stylists but the bad ones are ruining it for everyone. Prices have good up to $17 for a basic cut. Can do better elsewhere. read more

I gave them a few tries and the last two cuts I literally thought this was the persons first haircut they ever gave. Maybe great for kids but if you want consistency forget it. This is the worst place to get a haircut. They won't even let you go back to the same hair stylist if she did a good job the last time she cut your hair. I just tried having the same hair stylist cut my hair again and they told me that they don't allow that and that the hair stylists have to go in rotation. I even offered to wait until the hair stylist I wanted to have cut my hair was available again and they told me that I'm not allowed to wait. I even asked if I could just come back when she's available and they told me no. That's the most idiotic rule I've heard of in a long, long time. So, this place would rather lose my business and potentially lose thousands of dollars as a possible lifelong customer because of their stupid rule. I'll never go back to Great Clips again. I don't care how close you are to my house. I'd rather drive 20 minutes to a different hair salon than put up with such stupidity. read more

While the women who work here are pleasant, they are not good stylists for women. Men seem to get better cuts there. I have had to recut my wedge cut the last two times I went there. A return trip didn't even fix all the issues. I will be going elsewhere in the future. This salon is not worth my time, money or aggravation. read more

Okay, so below all these reviews are years old. Should be removed at some point :) my first critique is the women who work in there are all very nice, and listen to what you need immediately. They usually write down what you got last time, but I like to be different every time can't stay the same way my whole life while I still have hair!! Never waited longer than 5 minutes by checking in online. Most of the time I walk right in. They are great with my two toddlers as well! The only thing that I would recommend would be to be able to select who you want to cut your hair, but it goes so fast and everyone in there is competent in what they do! Just have better conversation with others!! Love this place! read more
