On vacation and found this salon for my MIL. MIL has super straight, jet black, healthy hair with damaged ends. She wanted my hair - damaged, dyed blonde and so unhealthy. Go figure! The stylist gave her realistic expectations and provided a nice cut. It certainly was not ever going to look like my hair, but I think she did a nice job adding long layers and cutting off the damaged ends. The stylist listened, gave an honest assessment of what to expect, and provided a nice haircut. It's a cute, clean salon. I wanted a mani while she got a haircut, but the mani person wasn't there that day. I found that a lot when trying to find a salon to do both services. A haircut is $55 which includes shampoo and style. Check into yelp for a 10% discount! Worth it! read more

I made my appointment through Yelp, which made it so easy! I was able to get in the same day. The salon is very clean, had comfortable chairs, and smelled nice. There was plenty of parking which is great. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and was offered a drink. Nicole did an amazing job cutting my hair. I have long, thick hair and got about 4 inches taken off. It was so thorough and you can tell she pays great attention to detail. After blow drying my hair she styled it so pretty - in loose waves- I love it!! read more

Studio 55 Hair Salon - Nicole did such a great job and I love the way she styled it at the end! - Hair Salons Near Me - Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

I went to Studio 55 Hair Salon today after reading the reviews! I live in North Carolina, but also have a beach house in the area! I called and left a message for Noelle because if the rave reviews and she returned call within the hour and was able to see me the next day promptly. I did have to wait about 15 min. for services, but I can understand they run behind occasionally so I was patient. Noelle was friendly, patient and very personable. After reviewing the photos ofstyles of cuts I showed her on my phone she proceeds to give me a treatment of gloss and then cut and blow dry hair. I was pleased with cut, but not blown away. It was basically same cut I came in with and not a new and exciting style I had hoped to leave with! I was happy but just ok. Salon was definitely about a 3, not upscale at all to me. It's in a strip mall, no luxuries to speak of! Cut was 55, gloss 25 tip 10! In and out! $ 90 about 45 minutes! Four stars! My husband was disappointed! We were looking for that. "Great New Look"! read more

Having moved here from Texas, I was in need a of salon. I looked and looked, but everything just had me coming back to this salon on the yelp search engine. I called and was able to get an afternoon appointment that same day, and was VERY glad I did. Excellent haircut! I would HIGH recommend that if your looking for a very good quality haircut, give this salon a try. Very honest on what you need, very experienced with hair. She had me looking great when she was done! As far as I am concerned, I have found my hair salon! :-) read more

So incredibly thrilled to have found my new stylist and salon! After an exhaustive search, I am confident my hair is in the BEST of hands here. Nichole (spelling...?) will forever be my go-to color and cut expert! She completely transformed my yellow hair into something I couldn't even imagine...blending my natural hair in seamlessly. She totally NAILED my color and I'm so glad I made the investment here. WELL WORTH IT. Clean salon, welcoming and talented owner. They will have my continued business, no doubt. Honestly, if you want the BEST you have to invest in the BEST! read more

Studio 55 Hair Salon - Over 1 week post low-lights + toner. Thank you Nichole! - Hair Salons Near Me - Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Will I be back? Oh yeahhhhh. As per usual, I was really nervous about trying a new hair salon. We will be moving here permanently soon and I've been searching for a new hair salon each time we visit and I believe I have found my forever home. Now, watch her up and leave right before I get to live here full time. Grr. Hope not. I almost cancelled as I was walking to the door. Yes. I have issues. But I'm so glad I kept the appointment. Nicole was absolutely wonderful! Very friendly but not overly fake friendly which is a plus for me. Don't you just love when someone is trying to talk to you while the hair dryer is blowing loud wind in and around your ears? Neither do I and she didn't do that. Yaaaa me! She actually listened to what I wanted and what I didn't want. The only thing I cannot stand are flips and she didn't force the flips on me. :-) I'm actually looking forward to hair cuts now. The price was a little steep for this area, I thought. I mean, I live in Northern Virginia where a $50 hair cut is the norm but I thought it would be cheaper in Myrtle Beach. That's okay. I'll still pay it if she's the one styling it. read more

I made an appointment for a wash and style with Nicole during a vacation in Myrtle beach. I arrived few minutes early for my 2.00 PM appointment and waited over half an hour for Nicole to see me. After I complained about the wait time she took me without apologizing and started to blow dry my hair without asking me anything about my hair or preferences. She was done in less than fifteen minutes and again without checking to see if I was satisfied, left to see another client. Her assistant , Kiki who washed my hair and was lot more courteous and professional offered to add finishing touches and check me out. I will not go back or recommend this salon. read more

Expensive but Nakole very good. Place is quiet. Didn't see any spa services. She did a gray job but I think others would do the same for much less $ read more

Very satisfied. Nichole is very talented. She takes her work very seriously and gives a cut that is easy to manage because she knows what's she's doing. Friendly atmosphere but she doesn't talk the entire time she's cutting your hair, which I like. Found one of the best stylist I've ever had. Will continue going. Going to try her coloring the next time also. read more

I had a personal horrible experience that I hope No one ever ever has to go through. I just got married Aug 14 and had appointments for myself and 4 other people to get my hair done at this salon. I already had my trial run prior and everything went great and I was so happy. The day of my wedding I show up to NO ONE present and no one ever showed up. I had to frantically call around while stressing on my own wedding day as I was the bride and try and find somewhere open on a Sunday. I also had to do my own makeup because where we ended up going doesn't do makeup services. I am very irritated and cannot believe that this happened. Save yourself the stress and worry and never book for a wedding here. The worst of it is, I didn't even hear from or get a hold of someone for 2 weeks. I can't even believe all this happened but hopefully I save it from happening to a future bride. read more

I left 2 messages to book an appt. and no one called me back. I guess they have enough clients or are just plain rude.

Nicole is amazing, has the hands of an artist, after 17 years of looking for a good hairstylist I finally found the place to go yo. Studio 55 is where you will get a great cut, paint, highlights, facial and most of all kindness and a smiling face. read more

Just got my hair cut and colored by Nicole. We are visiting this area again and I need my hair done bad. She is so kind and friendly and very knowledgeable!!! My hair feels so healthy BUT!!!!! Little pricy from what I am used to. 145.00 plus 20% tip She was doing 3 of us at the same time Did my color great but my cut was way too short. I mentioned in the humidity and she also conferred that I did not need layers which she did anyway. Love my color but my cut oh my!!! This will take me sometime to grow out. I would make sure she took the time to listen before doing my hair. I really believe she is good but way too busy by herself especially for the read more

DO NOT GO HERE. I made an appointment for today at 11am, arrived at the salon just before then and doors were locked, lights out. Exterior is dingy, I expect more from a beauty salon. Called the owner (I'm guessing) and thankfully she picked up, told me she'd be there in 10 minutes. She did show up a little more than 10 minutes later but I had already made another appointment at a salon for tomorrow where they assured me they would actually be there when I arrived. I drove away as she was unlocking the doors. If you're the owner and you're reading this--you have a business that I'm guessing you'd like to keep. Don't treat customers like this. Don't waste their time. Don't waste my time. Open your store when you say it's going to be open. It's common sense customer service. Unless you're in a position to afford keeping your store open regardless of your shitty customer service, you may want to reevaluate your current business practices. Do better or shut it down. read more

Highly recommend this salon. I haven't had a hair cut in almost 2 years and I was very nervous with the drastic change. I cut around 8-9 inches off my hair and was blown away by how excellent the cut turned out. I love my new long bob & plan on returning for any future hair needs. read more

Nicole works magic on my hair every time I come home to Myrtle Beach. Aside from having the most warm and welcoming environment, she is so talented! She always seems to know exactly what I want my hair to look like before I do. I will always highly recommend her to my friends; even though, I don't need to. They see my hair and that's all the recommending they need! read more

I researched hair salons in the area, and ended up here. So glad I did. (We are visiting from out of town). I made the appointment through the yelp app which was awesome! The owner responded quickly and fit me in same day! Prices are fair for being a more upscale salon. Best color high/low lights I've had in a long time! I may even be driving back soon just to go back. (6) hour drive. :) read more

I was vacationing in Myrtle and needed my roots touched up. After reading reviews on Yelp I thought I would give Salon 55 a try. I called a couple days before my needed appointment and booked on a Monday. Nicole did a great job with my root touch up and highlight. The salon is very clean and neat with an upscale feel. Prices were on point for the caliber of service. I would recommend Nicole to anyone in the area. read more

Buyer Beware. I arrived for a confirmed appointment and the doors were locked and lights out. I called Nicole to let her know I was there and waiting. I got her voicemail and left a message. I waited about 15 minutes - she never showed up. I expected she would call to apologize and reschedule later that day. She never responded to the missed appointment or my follow-up call. No Apology. What a FLAKE! I read other reviews and saw that she has done this before to someone else. Stay Away from Studio 55 - Nicole is irresponsible and she does not clean up her messes. read more

I am always skeptical about trying new places to get my hair colored or cut as I have had bad experiences in the past but this place is the bomb! Nicole totally transformed my look effortlessly and I cannot thank her enough! I drove all the way from Whiteville North Carolina to give her a try and I I will continue to come back! read more

I was visiting Myrtle Beach and need a color and cut. I depend on Yelp when traveling so based on the reviews Studio 55 seemed like a good choice. Nikole did a great job on my hair. Saw the pictures on Yelp, then read the reviews. I made the appointment easily through Yelp. Nikol did highlights that blend perfectly with my natural platinum-grey hair. She layered my super long hair into a style that compliments my face. I've been to 4 different stylists since moving to this area. Finally found the best! Will try to add pictures. read more

Great Salon, awesome customer service, great experiences. She did an awesome job with my color, I am very happy with my my experience!

Very sweet stylists . Had about a 20 minute wait before being seen as a walk-in. Was told it's always best to make an appointment to avoid long waits. Shop very open but somewhat crowded. I would prefer more privacy when I am with a stylist. One stylist did my shampoo- had to ask to use fingertips instead of fingernails on my tender scalp- ouch! Another stylist did my blow dry and style- turned out okay but a little too much product used - preventing the movement that I like for my hair to have. All in all, the stylists are very kind, somewhat more talkative than necessary- . A man, the owner of the shop, came in to clean while the stylists were working- he was clearly intent on getting the place clean and nothing else. The prices seemed to be on par with most other shops in the area. Stylists seemed genuinely concerned with making their clients happy but be sure to ask for style without much product if you want your hair to have some movement. read more

The worst hair cut ever and also expensive. She remembered she was supposed to pick up her daughter and just cut in 10 mins, lousy job

If I could give them zero stars I would. If you are traveling from out of town and need your hair done for an event this is NOT the place to go. I picked them because being out of town I wasn't sure where to go they were the only place with decent reviews and pictures that I could see. I started talking to them about doing my hair in July for my wedding on September 30, I also confirmed my appointment with them in September. I showed up Saturday the 30th to get my hair done and not a soul was at the shop the doors were locked the lights were off no one had even been there. I then messaged the shop and the girl that was supposed to do my hair no one even sent me an apology back or an explanation. Thankfully a lady at hypnotic hair salon got me in and got my hair done in time to make it to my wedding a few minutes late. Hypnotic was wonderful to me while I was there and my hair looked absolutely AMAZING! I will never recommend this shop to ANYONE!!!!! read more

I made an appointment with Nicole. Very nice and personable. I needed my roots touched up and a trim. She did a great job, but charged me $135.00! That's almost double what I'm used to paying. I could see if I was getting highlights, or even my whole head colored, but to me her prices were a rip off. read more

I was new to the area and was nervous about going to a new person. I should have followed my gut instinct because over two months later I am still dealing with the damage done to my hair! The first problem was that my foils were orange, not blonde, so she re-did them. Two bleach processes in one day fried my hair and I have to get deep conditioning treatments weekly to repair the damage. I have lots of breakage because of this and can't use any more bleach for a very long time. The second problem was that she put the dark brown not only on my hair, but on my face along the hairline and did not use any barrier cream. My face was stained for several days and I ended up with scabbing around the hairline from the chemical burn and from her trying to scrub it off. She got behind because she had to re-do my foils, so she half ass blow dried me and let me leave looking a frizzy hot mess. To top it all off, she charged me a ridiculous price that included a charge for a haircut even though she barely trimmed up my neckline (I wanted to grow out a bob). This was the WORST experience I have ever had going to a salon!!!! read more

Got my hair done at Studio 55 for the first time on Tuesday. I went in with an idea in my head but after talking with my stylist Nicole, she advised me that a balayage hair style would not only look great but better fit my life style (I like to be blonde and don't make it into the salon often and my roots are dark!) I took the advice and trusted her opinion and I don't regret it one bit. She did a fantastic job and Nicole is truly talented. read more
