If you need anything even remotely advanced, do not go here. Their hair stylists have like 3 years of experience and they'll say yes to literally anything to take your money. I wanted my icy platinum (extremely damaged) hair refreshed with a root touch-up and to get k-tips. Now, please keep in mind that the entire back layer of my hair is like 3 inches long from breakage. Any respectable hair stylist would have just said no, and I realize that now. But not Mirage. The photos speak for themselves. The first several are the way she initially sent me home, which is just laughable lol. The next ones are after she "fixed" it i.e. just took the super visible bonds out, but there's still absolutely no blend and it looks atrocious. I went somewhere else to have them taken out and this stylist was utterly appalled not only that they did this service at all with my hair in its current condition, but the technique was extremely sloppy and so tight I was getting sores on my scalp. I asked for a partial refund for the extensions and they refused, so I disputed it with my bank. Also, they lifted my roots to straight up YELLOW and told me to just "use purple shampoo" as if it works that way. You didn't lift it enough... at least they refunded me for that part. ALSO, they charged me $1300 for hair that I later found out costs like $700, they just pocketed the extra. Like ok... Unless you are getting something extremely simple done, AVOID. read more

I had my hair cut by Katie. She made me feel comfortable from the very beginning. I showed her some inspiration photos of the style I was interested in. Next, she took me back to the shampoo bowl. She washed and conditioned my hair and gave me the best head massage ever as she was washing. She took her time with my haircut. I had about three inches cut off and layers added. She was very thorough with checking to make sure the layers were even. She did a blowout and style at the end. I left looking and feeling refreshed. I appreciated her attention to detail from start to finish. I will definitely be back. read more

I needed a last minute hair cut, shampoo, blow out & style, for my anniversary that night! So I called they had no openings, not surprised. Luckily they had a cancellation and KATE promptly called me back and got me in her chair within 2 hours of my initial phone call. She was sweet, professional & overall an amazing stylist. I was very nervous I never step outside of the stylists I know personally but KATE really did show up for me in my time of need, my bangs look amazing my curls are still perfect after waking up and being out all night. I will absolutely be back to see her when I need a refresher ! 10/10 experience I would recommend her & Mirage Hair studio to anyone who asks ! read more

I have been going to Mirage for over 10 years and I have always left happy no matter who has done my hair! Even the receptionist, Makenna, is great!!! I highly recommend coming here if you love your hair! read more

I recently visited this salon while on vacation and was very happy with the services I received. I called in for a same-day blow out appointment for two people and was accommodated right away. The associate I spoke with while booking the appointment was helpful and friendly. The salon was small, but very well appointed and carried a great selection of products. It was also very clean and decorated beautifully! Our blow out services were provided by Katie C., she did an excellent job. She used good products, took her time, listened to and accommodated our preferences, and was super friendly and fun. Overall, our hair looked great and we were happy with our choice to visit Mirage Hair Studio. I would recommend this salon to others! read more

I moved to North Myrtle Beach 3 years ago & finding a hair stylist right for me was harder than finding a good doctor. After trying 4 stylists, I finally found the one for me. I am actually hesitating giving her name because what if she gets too busy for me? Jk:) Shannon is so sweet and does a fabulous job. The highlight of my service is the head massage she gives when washing my hair. She is the best around & I love my monthly visits to Mirage. read more

My hair was damaged from highlights I got from a different salon. I am new to this area so Googled salons close to me, and it looked good. I called and booked a treatment and a cut. The salon was nice and clean. Ariana was my stylist. She was super sweet and knowledgeable. We did a K18 treatment and she gave me exactly what I wanted and needed for a cut. I will definitely be booking with her again. Thank you so much Ariana! read more

I am new the area. Brother owns a Hair Studio and I am aware of issues with employees as a manager myself. Went to have roots done by August. Based upon the greeting from the front desk and then the comments and snickers from both her and August as she saw me waiting I was uncomfortable from the start. They both acted child like and definitely need training in professional attitude and how to make a new customer feel comfortable. I will not be returning and would suggest to the owner she train the staff how to not act like high school children and run in the back to talk about the clients. It is sad that they have a lot of growing up to do and my experience was less than unsatisfied. I would not recommend this Studio. read more

I moved here from Hawaii and spent three years trying hairdresser after hairdresser to get what I wanted which is an edgy platinum look. Very few stylists are skilled enough for this. Kelli was recommended to me by my aesthetician Eva. Kelli was even better than my gal in Hawaii. She takes her time, is thorough and conscientious. She is open to feedback and really does listen where I feel many stylists don't. If you are looking for an expert, Kelli is your gal. read more

I moved here from CA where everything was shut down.. I was so thrilled to find a salon here that was open. I have been to this salon for several haircuts with the same stylist (HG). I threw caution to the wind and decided to get highlights. I have had 30+ years of highlights and know the drill. I did not want over processed brassy blonde hair.. My request was for her not to overdo it.. Apparently HG had double booked me. I can't figure out if her other appointment was her friend or a client redo. My 1:00 appointment ended at 3:30. I sat marinating for an hour and a half while she took care of her other appointment....the end result was solid brassy blonde hair in the front with nothing done in the back. Hideous!. I am now left scrambling to find a professional stylist with good craft. read more

Changed to Mirage after visiting the same salon in the Washington, DC-area for 12 years, so yeah, I was nervous. Didn't need to be! Megan Y did a great job with a brunette balayage and cut. Felt amazing, looked amazing, will go back! read more

Very nice and knowledge staff. I was so happy they could accommodate me within a couple of days. Thanks again for my cut and color!

I moved to Myrtle Beach January 2019. Trying to find a salon that knew how to professionally cut men's hair was a challenge until I found Mirage. The moment you walk in, you are greeted by a courteous and professional staff member who is always pleasant and helpful. Everything from an aesthetic point of view is very modern and state of the art. The owner Kelli is fantastic and takes her time getting to know your preferences and expectations and is very personable. I have enjoyed getting to know her these past two years and feel right at home every time I visit. If you are looking for a great haircut/style male or female, don't waste your time going anywhere else. Mirage is the best in town! read more

If I could give a Zero I would. I just moved here and was referred to Hayley by my realtor. I filled out the online form. 2 days later no response. I called and no one answers the phone and left a message. 3 days later no call back. Called 2 more times and no one returned my calls. This salon has great reviews online, but they don't seem to care to call you back to make an appointment. I am a very loyal customer and a great tipper for good service, but I am sorry I own my own business and if I never called back perspective clients I would not survive. I don't understand this business ethic at all. I am disappointed as my realtor and her mother gave rave reviews. My messages were nice so not sure why they completely ignored me. It is obvious they could care less about me as a new customer! read more

Took my Mom for a perm, asked for a tight curly perm - even discussed the desired look before going. Her hair came out straight and with the ends around her face broken off. She was in tears. So so upsetting and disappointing and it was very expensive- now we need to wait to get it fixed after this disaster! I would not recommend this salon. read more

Wish I could give it 0. Got extensions and they were great until I went in for a move up and within a week my tracks were falling out and my hair was matted. Had to go to my stylist in Charlotte to fix because the girl who did my hair couldn't fit me in. You would think if you messed your clients hair up you would do all you could to fix it. But no I had a whole track hanging by 2 beads. Took my other stylist 2 hours to undo them and untangle my hair. Spent 2000 for her to do them and what I got was unacceptable read more

Love my hairdresser, Sierra! She is equally great with color and cut, and thanks to her grandmother, she understands what the older generation likes...hard to find these days! Plus the salon is very upscale and relaxing! Love being pampered by everyone! Feeling blessed! read more

Stylist was nervous, unsure, I gave her the benefit of the doubt because she was nice and took her time. Big mistake. She made very rookie mistakes like timing one side 45min+ more than the other, root lights for 10min which I've never seen before, redoing foils 30min in I didn't even want done considering I asked for bayolage. in the end the result had no reasonable description. Wound up with multitude of brassy orange root highlights inexplicably given my request for bayolage, and crispy white tips even though she insisted on using only one colour instead of low lights for depth. Very inexperienced, you just can't trust this salon unfortunately. Left very unhappy with a hair cut and colour that looked like my mom cut it and I sprayed myself with sun-in. read more

I needed to find a new hairdresser and because of my very curly hair I can't go to just anyone. I searched Google for "hairdressers in Myrtle Beach that could cut curly hair" and scanned the list over and over and Mirage came out on top in all aspects. Kelli, the owner is the expert and she took time to sit and discuss what I wanted and I told her to give me her thoughts, she asked if I had a problem with a razor cut but and I told her when I lived up North I always had it cut with a razor but the two hairdressers I have had in the 19 years we have been down here would not use a razor on it. She said I am going to do a razor cut and trim with a scissor and I think you will like how it looks. I love it and she never used anything but her hands and a blow dryer to style it and it works for me also. My curls are so much more defined. I will be going to Mirage from now on. I am good friends with my former hairdresser and she is a great hairdresser but had surgery and I needed a hair cut or would have been put in a BRILLO PAD box, now I found a stylist and what a difference. If you do not want to pay a high price then this is not the place for you but what is the price of beauty? THINK ABOUT THAT? read more

I've been looking for a new hairstylist, since I now live in MB permanently! I'm please to say I have found the perfect person. Katie took the time to speak with me and really wanted to understand what I wanted. She was very personable and had a great attitude. She took me from blonde back to my "almost" natural color. Before I left, I booked another appointment with her. If you are looking for a stylist, give Katie a shot. You will not be sorry! read more

absolute worst!!! I had to go somewhere else to fix my hair! the place is also filthy! very sad. I cried in my car.

Everyone here is so friendly and talented. Michele has been doing my hair for about a year now and I'm always happy when I leave the salon. Requested a consult with a stylist- got a 20 minute haircut ($49.00) that had to be redone the next day (at a different salon).

Thought it looked ok leaving the salon. After I showered I realized one side of my hair is about an inch shorter than the other. Never going back. read more

Probably one of the worst experiences at a salon that I've ever had. My regular stylist at another salon was not available for quite some time, so I picked this one out of convenience to where I work. Sierra was my stylist, she was nice enough but insulting at the same time. During our conversation she asked what salon I went to prior, she bashed them saying they were awful and she would never recommend anyone go there and proceeded to insult my haircut as well. She asked what products I was using on my hair, when I told her, she said that's why I had so much breakage (of course she suggested products that the salon sells). I have breakage because my hair is always in a ponytail. Said her clientele is much younger, I guess indicating that I was old. She did a dry cut, which I was fine with. In my experiences with dry cuts, hair is washed first, blown out, straighten, then cut. She didn't wash my hair, just straighten it. My sides are slighting uneven but she blamed it on the breakage and said she did the best she could. I would not recommend Sierra! read more

This place is overpriced, and reeks of inexperience, and no personality!!! From the Owner to the hair stylists!!! I Paid $200.00 for a cut, color, and highlight!!!! Let me explain, I moved here from New York, (so, I know a good cut, and a good Salon). I never in all my years in New York, EVER paid $200.00 !!! And the best is, the haircut was so bad, I had to go to another Salon in N. Myrtle Beach to have it corrected... It was uneven, and had no shape, or style!!! My highlight was no better...... cannot even see the highlights in my hair!!! I was so sick, after I left this Salon!!!!! I felt COMPELLED to write this review, even if I save ONE person from going to this Salon "MIRAGE", it will make up for the terrible service and haircut I received there!!! Please DO NOT waste your MONEY!!!!! Wish someone would have told me !!!!! read more

Not good service, people were rude and my hair was so messed up after I left. I just spent the last month fixing my hair after they completely distorted it! I spent a HUGE amount of money for nothing and was very upset. I even returned later and they said it was going to be free of charge to fix it and it was an ANOTHER $100 added to the $250! I WASNT HAPPY STILL. If you want a good job done on your hair I recommend somewhere else, NOT HERE. Please don't waste your money if you don't want a snotty rude person that messes up so bad and doesn't do anything you want do your hair. Never returning again and told everyone I know not to go there either. read more
