I went into the Kyle location this afternoon, and I told them I wanted three inches trimmed off and a butterfly cut. I showed the stylist (Timothy) a picture and he said he could do that and even seemed excited to do it. He talked me into taking five inches off the length because he said I had split ends. My hair was slightly layered in front, so a little shorter, and past my waist in back--super long. An hour later he had taken about a foot of hair; I didn't realize it was so short because the front was still quite long, but he had to cut all that to blend in with the rest. Now, not only is it twelve inches shorter, but the cut is horrible! I didn't realize how bad it was until I got home. I'm so hurt and upset. I feel stupid for going because they've done this before. The stylist said, "I hope it's not too short!" then, "Sorry it's so short." Well, gee. I'm glad you're sorry, but you don't have to walk around feeling hideous and exposed. It took years to get it back to the length it was. I was going to go back and ask it to be fixed once I saw the back, but I might end up with nothing. If you don't know how to do something, tell the customer! If you're another stylist and you see someone screwing up badly, stop them! read more

But she cut my hair uneven! They leave you with wet hair so it looks good, but when I got home and styled it like usual I noticed how bad it is! I really like their app to check and see how busy they are. I also like that they save your prior haircut notes in their computer so after you get your cut tuned in you don't have to remember what you got last time and can just get the sam cut again. Or you can fine tune what you didn't like and update the notes in their computer. I never get the same stylist so this is helpful read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE BY ARACELI!!!! I took my son in to get a routine haircut (he has had a haircut every month since he was 1 year old and he is now 4). He does great in the chair. Araceli was very rude from the first interaction we had trying to belittle me when i tried explaining how i wanted his hair cut. As she cut my son's hair, it all fell in his face and eyes. I have never seen so much hair in his face during a haircut.. My son is young so of course the hair in his face is going to bother him and he is going to move some. She would rudely tell him not to move and even tried restricting his arms. I did stand near her while she did her work and then she told me rudely to go sit down. When she was "done" she had me go check to see if it was to my liking, which it wasn't so I told her the areas I wanted fixed. After she attempted to fix it, she took off his apron as if he was ready to go. I then told her she still needed to fix it and she clapped back that she wasn't done so i asked her why she took off his apron as if she was. We argued about that.. She kept complaining that my son moved too much to get a good haircut - i have NEVER had anyone complain about him. I then told her that she should have been honest about not knowing how to cut children's hair and had someone else do it. Another employee finally came after hearing the heated back and forth arguments but did nothing to help. She was defending Araceli's horrible work saying that is the way they do things. I have never seen a rounded hairline the way she did it in the front. My poor son looked like dumb and dumber by the time we left her. Although the check in online is quick and efficient, the service was horrible. From the second I entered Great Clips, I was treated terribly by three hairstylists that work there. While my kid was getting a haircut, one stylist listened to me say "good job" to my daughter and thought I was talking to her then confronted me as if she wanted to fight. Tonight was the craziest experience of my life in a hair salon. For no reason, two hairdressers had the worst attitude and decided to take it out on their customer. Insane. Avoid this place. There are several other places to get your hair cut in Kyle, don't go here and getting treated terribly. read more

What a rude introduction! I was asked for my phone number without any explanation on WHY you need my phone number in the first place (I'm new to this location). When asked for my name, I was concerned about info being sent to third parties. Angela was very rude in her approach in explaining why she was doing what she was doing in getting my info. Her approach was off, and she really needs some re-training on acquiring people's info especially when they are not in the system. She acted highly offended when I told her I did not want to share my personal information. I did not appreciate her giving me attitude when she isn't even explaining why she needs my name and phone number. She didn't ask if I have been to the location which is what she should have started the introduction with. I would have given this place a one-star for poor customer service, but Jessica, the person who cut my hair, actually did a great job on the cut AND was more personable on her approach when speaking with me. If I could rate zero I would, the bangs were horrid, it wasn't even an even cut. One side of my head is cut completely straight and the other looks like a triangle was cut above my ear. Asked simply for my bangs to be trimmed and to get the hair off my ears. First thing they cut was an inch off the back of my hair. This would've been fine, if they hadn't completely cut my hair uneven. The wait time was quick. We walked in and less than 2 minutes later we were taken to get a haircut. My boyfriend asked for a simple trim using an 8 and they cut down to the point were he had about 6 centimeters of hair left. This review is way late but I been going to this Location for a few years.... when I first stepped in there I had my hair done a few times by a few people till the day I walked in and Mimi cut my hair. I wish I can give her 10 stars... she is the only one that cut my hair and my sons... I remember the first time she cut mine she handed me a small mirror to check out the back... since then I don't have to inspect.... she has NEVER messed up my hair and I always get a 0 cut fade... one time she went high but it looked good but wasn't me... she brought it back down and never misses a spot.... We've been this location for a while and pretty much satisfied with the service, however, our last visit was half great and half NOT! I would say there is a lady there that might need more training since we need to have her fix my 6-year old's haircut twice and she didn't even got the top right. The sides are uneven and she reasoned out that it is smooth and even but.it is NOT! She fixed it then but she didn't get it on the top...I told her just to finish the sides...and don't worry about the top because she didn't get it. I believe if she is not comfortable in doing kid's hair, she should let others to do it. I have been going to this Great Clips Franchise in Kyle, Texas for about seven years and have watched a the quality of service has rapidly declined over the past six to eight months. If you need a quick hair cut which is rather simple, then they might work for you. However, checking in on line is a must with the average walk in waiting about 20-40 minutes. However, anything more than that - would recommend you go elsewhere. The reason is the high turnover rate of the stylist with many of their best quitting within the last few months. In addition, the counter personnel are often rude. In particular, I logged in before leaving work yesterday in order to ensure ample time for the crowds. When I arrived, the counter person stated that I was not on the list, though I received a confirmation of the call ahead. The person further stated that I wanted to log in or get on the list it would be about a 1 1/2 hour wait. When I tried to explain, I was basically treated as though I was lying. My long time patronage did not get me the benefit of the doubt. This wasn't the first time that I have experience poor customer relations. The first time, my regular stylist was out so I had a different one. The young lady could not understand the notes from the computer. I attempted to explain, but ultimately decided to walk out. Would recommend you avoid this Great Clips and go elsewhere. read more

I like enthusiasm, it's was great observable characteristic that helps one ease the fear of a potential Terrible Clip. I've been settling for a 'clean up' of the neck line, since most employees for hair cut places believe EVERY male wants or needs a 'little boys haircut' - you know The High & Tight. I don't care about why pics are placed around the area, I almost get the assumption they're actually targets, something put in place to infuriate an employee's mind and to take this frustration out on someone else's hair. Almost like a picture of someone pointing a finger at you with the quote 'obey'. Imagine Kermit The Frog - remember that silly little dance, he would do, with the arms rocking side to side & the mouth agape with the 'Happy Go Lucky' prancing. This is basically what I felt victim of as the misrepresentation of a REQUESTED 'Trim' took place. I specifically requested - using My Cap as reference as to the actual area below the brim that I was wanted to have 'cut' with a 1 or 2 guard. That should be simple - 3'' below the ears. Basically the neck line with a very minute fade / blend - anyway. I have to endure ANOTHER ramble about someone living NO-WHERE near a Reservation actually having a Blood-Line of Indian American. No distinct characteristics, just the 3rd time in My Life i've had to endure another Purely & Extremely Fabricated Story. Just something to try on for size, see if it fits, see if anyone disagrees, if they so HAPPEN to be in the seat where i'm cutting hair...''BUZZ (times infinity = jacked up cut". If someone is more interested in blabbing about themselves, and not really asking about you, then they're not really paying attention : to the customer(s), to how they're cutting your hair, to the fact that a Request means there may be a potential that - something about the way a looks okay on 1 person doesn't mean it's going to work on the next. Is there Communism going on now in the hair cut farms - where '1 Size Fits All' !!! I was already made unease then My Jacket was yanked from where I was sitting, it's only 40 degrees outside, I just walked in, would like to retain some warmth, didn't request to have them set aside & I don't mind having the potential for a FEW hairs getting on them - Why ? - I'm not REQUESTING any actual trimming or cutting from the DAMN TOP !!! Instead I get the reaction as though I'm a toddler about to throw a wooden block or plastic XL lego piece to taking what is ''mine''. Wow. I dislike Passive / Aggressiveness completely. What needs only 10 minutes, w/conversation at most, ends up taking 25min, 3'' of My Hair, leave an UNEVEN TOP, and EXTREMELY HIGH SIDES. I'm FURIOUS, but decided to put the event as such (above) but have added an easier to Visualize Retrospect : Kermit The Frog w/Scissors, blabbing like the Italian Chef Dude (same Show) - just making a mess of My Hair & The Social Situation. I hate when people bring up Ethnicity / Race without ANY pre-context, especially to complete strangers, just shows the lingering of some other emotion or outlandish though peering along the edge. This is why I usually wait a minimum of 4-5 months before going to these places, they usually end with Complete Disappointment & Customer Frustration. I should have save the ency $14, but I left a $5 tip - I didn't want to have the back thought of leaving angry...sometimes the 'false' appreciation can help one avoid this Train of Thought. Where do I start? I'm not too picky about my hair but I can't let this atrocity go. I brought in a picture of EXACTLY what I wanted and what I already had. I just needed it cleaned up a little bit. The butcher (I mean stylist) said she could do it and wouldn't be any trouble. she then proceeded to turn my chair around so I couldn't see what she was doing and apparently pulled out the weed whacker to destroy my hair. She never once spoke to me but she loved to gossip with the other stylists, and I had to stop her several times because she wasn't paying attention. When she was "finished" she loaded my hair with product because the back was sticking up due to the fact that she cut the back too short and asked if it was better.
