I have come here twice now, usually I cut my hair at home because even with a trim the stylists like to cut off more of my hair/ experiment. I have been very happy with Jessica and CC, they cut my hair longer than I asked, and asked if I still wanted it shorter to check it was what I wanted. The service was faster than expected so that was why I rated it two stars, but my God the haircut was horrible. Not only that my son said she constantly pulled on his head, and face that when he was done he had red marks on his forehead. They kept talking in Spanish to each other than would look around, and laugh. Which I assume they were talking about the customers. I was too far away to hear the conversation. Just super unprofessional. I didn't realize how bad the haircut was till we got home, and he was outside. I cut my sons hair way better than this, and I'm not a hairstylist. The service wasn't warm, and welcoming, and neither was the atmosphere. Most importantly my son is now walking around with a horrible cut. Luckily his hair grows fast. We wont be back to this location again. Edited: I spoke to the manager, and she compensated my money for the haircut. She was very professional, and offered to even try to fix it. Awesome place, took my kiddo to cut and donate her hair to "Wigs for Kids". (The cut is free when donating it to the cause). Jessica and the guy working there were so great at everything down to the last step. They worked with us letting us know how short my kiddos hair would be and topped her off with a cute hair style!!! Please ask for Jacob!! I have been to so many other salons and even at this one and I have come home having to snip areas that were not even. Jacob is the first stylist to cut my hair and actually check it with the hair around it and made sure that both sides were even! You would think that that would be a norm but unfortunately not. I tried Great Clips because I had a coupon. Things kind of went south when the barber asked for help mid-haircut because she said she didn't know how to do a fade from a one guard to a three guard. Another barber took over and finished the fade for her. In the end, the haircut wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible, I was mainly annoyed that they had somebody giving haircuts when they were so inexperienced. It is not a good feeling to wonder mid-haircut if you were going to look like you were attacked by a lawnmower. I don't want to be somebody's guinea pig unless I know that in advance and am doing so voluntarily and at a lower price. All of this aside, the staff was really nice and I got in with no wait time. The shop itself was nice, although the barber complained that the divider between the barber stations was in her way. I had to agree, it looked like a pretty annoying setup. I wouldn't call my experience terrible, but it left me with enough doubts that I will probably just stick with my usual barber shop. The barber shop industry seems really competitive and there are so many talented people out there that a newer shop can't afford to treat new customers to an experience like mine. I know that at my regular barber shop, I am going to get a good haircut every time no matter which barber cuts my hair. If I didn't already have a reliable shop that I was happy with, I would probably give Great Clips another chance. read more

REALLY BAD EXPERIENCE!!! Uhm, lets see. Where do we even start. Lets start at the beginning. I walked in and was greeted by a young lady at the front desk. She inputs my sons last name into the computer an d asked me how to spell it, mid way through her typing in his last name as i am reciting the spelling letter by letter, she gets herself confused and mistypes and completely loses her cool. she tossed her hand into the air with frustration and use a very unprofessional tone with me in front of my 2 teenage sons and my 7 year old daughter. I was shocked that she raised her voice at me. I stepped back and looked at her and told her, "You NEED to calm down". she quickly composed herself and apologized. She completely had a bi-polar moment. My first son gets in the chair and she starts cutting his hair, when she is done- its a complete MESS!!!! i had to point out chunks of his fade that were all uneven and had to ask her to fade it higher. she looked unhappy when i asked her to fix it. she did her best, i was partially satisfied. My next son gets in er chair and she destroys his hair. I had to ask for the manager and she ended up fixing both of my boys haircuts. But when i say fix, i mean just band-aid it until his REAL barber opens tomorrow morning to get it fixed. i was so unhappy- the manager, of course, said no charge. I still paid a $10 dollar tip to both the gal who funked up my boys haircuts and another $10.00 to the one who fixed it.....wanted to make the point that i wasn't just complaining to get a free haircut. My 2 boys walked out that place looking like they had their heads run over by a lawnmower. It also would have great to have the original hair-cutter wait until i left to whisper, point and stare at me while the manager was fixing the haircuts. None the less, i will NEVER go back or even recommend this place to ANY1, unless your kids pi$$ you off and you want to punish them with bad haircuts. read more

I have been a stylist for almost 10 years and was an employee of great clips on north park drive from the day that they opened until just recently several weeks ago. It is quite possible that I may have been the stylist that complete your hair cut for which I would like to apologize for your hair cut not being as great as it should have been. And if I had cut your hair and knew that you were not completely satisfied I would have offered you another discount on a future hair cut giving me the opportunity to have a second chance to win your business and to retain you as a long term satisfied great clips patron. With that said Iregretfully must express my own dissatisfaction with great clips from an employees perspective. From the initial onset of the grand opening and up until about 3 months before I was pressured to part ways i completely and utterly loved my job! I looked forward to seeing the clients and working along side my coworkers every day, the area and traffic flow coupled with the demographics and convenience, paired with the great clips way of delivering customer satisfaction and delighting our customers through affordability, efficiency, and with a visually professional and stylish haircut, put simply I was sold out for great Clips and their game plan for an awesome business. Unfortunately the way that this particular franchise managed the nucleus of the operations of day to day responsibilities and employee interfacing along with the lack of communication and just plain old treating others as you would like to be treated, was more than disappointing it was for me,heart breaking and potentially has changed my view of people being capable of being kind and good and decent. To say the least the way I was handle and frankly how most of the staff were treated was probably one of the most uncaring and the worst displays of professionalism in my career to date. I was pressured into parting ways with great Clips in a fashion such as you might see among teenage school girls, with and overall air of immaturity and juvenile back stabbing to the point of ridiculous power struggles over duties and responsibilities and plain laziness. When did the American people adopt the attitudes of entitlement and less than desirable work ethics? Needless to say the management,or the lack thereof didn't want to operate business in a pleasing environment, one that values their hard-working employees and reward them instead of attempting to break down the self dignity and respect someone has for themselves .... My hope is that this salon will turn around from the potentially harmful path that they are on before they strip away too many stylist from a very enjoyable and rewarding career! There has to be a better way to run a salon effectively, efficiently, with professionals who care more about their clients satisfaction and overall delightful experience than they do about their bottom line numbers, when you treat people with the same kind of attention and care that you would want for yourself, then all the numbers will add up with great success and failure will be only a distant thought. Good luck great Clips north park! May you continue to be a better place for a better experience and change with every set back rather than break and fracture. Sadly I have a not so great option of the operations and the lack of good communication,leadership and human decency of the ones in authority at the north park location and truly I hope that this will be a good opportunity to reevaluate the structure and foundation of the methods used to run the salon. The absolute best customer service I have ever received at a hair salon. Owner and employees are great.

The WORST haircut I ever had. I wanted about an inch cut off. After a very short time she said all done as she whipped the cape off of me. I said are you sure. She said yes handed me a comb and said check it yourself. My hair is curly it isn't easy to judge when it is wet and flat on my head. After getting home and looking closely my guess is she cut about 1/3 of my hair unevenly and just stopped. I wish I could rate them zero stars. read more
