I took my 2.5 year old to get a haircut today and in the past he's done fairly well with haircuts. But due to quarantine it's been a while since he's had a real haircut. He was wiggly from the get go even though he was sitting on my lap. The woman that cut his hair, she said her name was Vivian, was so calm and understanding the whole time. She gave him a lollipop about halfway through and I prayed he'd make it through the rest of the haircut without having a meltdown. Well, we were nearing the end and he totally lost it. I'm talking screaming, spitting, kicking, full blown meltdown. Vivian was so calm and sweet and still finished his haircut and did a great job!! I am SO grateful to have received such amazing service and I would definitely recommend this location!! We were their last customers of the day and I'm sure they were just as tired as me so thank you, thank you, thank you for showing this mama and her sour patch kid so much compassion read more

gave me the worst haircut 2 times in a row. did completly not what i asked for. the people give me bad vibes now because they give me bad haircuts do not reccomend read more

My mom went last week to get a haircut here, Asian lady cut it. She got an infection from her cutting a little by her ear. Currently in the ER for 4rs and still waiting. See seemed to rush it, since it was almost closing, she trimmed it a little and my mom wanted it shorter and seems like she didn't like that. read more

See all

Asked for my bangs to be trimmed curtain style and they gave me bowl cut bangs. The lady who cut my hair seemed disinterested and rushed.

Checked in online as soon as they opened, was expecting timely service. There were 2 stylists, the one with curly black hair just took forever with her client, talking on and on. Then when it was almost my turn, she asked rudely if I had any cash b/c the credit card machine wasn't working. I said "let me get some from my car". I came back and she had already moved on to the person behind me in line! She skipped right over me! I spent an hour at the place when I should've been in and out in 20-25. Will not return here. read more

This guy lace is what you typically expect for a quick, cheap cut but overall not bad. The customer service is good & it's not bad of a wait time. read more

I've been here a couple times, never done that great of a job. The last time my wife took my son here for a basic hair cut the lady really butchered it crooked all over better off cut your own hair than go here read more

Avery cut my hair today for the first time. She was attentive, friendly and has skills! The cut was perfect and i love it. Will not hesitate to go back. read more

Brian is who my son gets his cuts from. It's clean. Service is good. Just check in online.

My son's normal barber was out of town, so took him here since its in the same parking lot as his Karate studio. Never again! My poor baby kept saying the clippers felt "hot" but the guy was in too much of a rush to get to the next person, he didn't care. It wasn't until we got outside that I realized what he was feeling was not heat, but actually scratching. On top of that, the cut itself was ridiculous. Look at his neck line! Crooked and awful! read more

Great Clips - Crooked, scratched. - Hair Salons Near Me - Galt, California

Absolutely ridiculous we waited for an hour i realize people were checked in in front of us but they literally sat there and waited till the ppl that were checked in walked in. I was so mad i should have left but my sons only open time to get a hair cut . I'll never come back to Galt clips again and to top that off she didn't blend it so it looks choppy read more

I was really concerned after all of the negative reviews but I needed a cut badly. Pleasantly surprised after working with Khadeja. Got the cut I was asking for without any unpleasantness. I'm sure there's truth in some of these reviews but this experience was excellent. Maybe things are changing. Ask for Khadeja if you're hesitant. read more

Great Clips in Galt. With terror in my heart, I decided to revisit the scene of the worst hair cut I'd ever gotten. When chance delivered me the same person, I declined her and was offered what looked to be another potential disaster,my courage failed me. I backed out of the store followed by both of them screeching at me as I retreated. A pinnacle of customer service. Nice job Great Clips! In a short time, you've managed to turn reasonably priced OK option for a quick haircut into a place with a surly low end strip mall nail salon vibe. No insult meant to surly low end nail salons. I'm aware that none of these reviews are actually read by anyone at Great Clips, which should tell you something right there. read more

The haircut is what you'd expect for a cheap quick haircut. I'd rate the haircut a 2 but customer service a zero. The manager is rude. Will not go back. read more

Brace for Impact, I want to be real. I look at a lot of the reviews coming in and it seems like the majority of disgruntled people are complaining about the prices or the management... I have been coming here since the location opened up, never had a problem. Not only can you see the prices clearly online but they are on a big board when you walk in. It doesn't matter if your last haircut was 10$ , it doesn't matter if your a senior who just wants a blue rinse.. Hair is hair, if your smart enough to know how to find coupon then it won't be difficult to get it for as little as 12$ (that is what I do) but it sounds some people just want to be lazy and disgruntled. Truth is , this location is fabulous they take really good care of you and that "Mean Manager" some speak of, she is a Woman with Character and a strong work ethic, you try being a Woman Run Small Business Franchise owner with hundreds of people walking in and out all day some of them wanting discounts because they used to get it for 10$.... For real people, have some empathy, don't whine about the price and be thankful for them, entitlement is so 2019. read more

I came in with my son to get haircuts. Vivian, is terrible! She asked how we would like our hair cut and we told her. No where near what we asked for. Do not get your hair cut from Vivian unless you are shaving off your hair. She goes crazy with the scissors . Poor service, attitude and all. She is lucky, we didn't walk out without paying! Complete disgust! read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. The middle aged Portuguese lady that works there messed up on my haircut so bad that I can't even get it fixed and was denied a refund even though I told them I was not happy or satisfied with the haircut. Absolutely worst customer service and the manager threatened me. Will never come here again. read more

I have gone here on and off for quite some time. I also found out recently each one is a franchise and the owners set their own prices. I requested what a basic hair cut would be for a senior. The reaction I received was 2 different prices in less then one minute on the phone. When I questioned it was told well if I do it is the higher price. Our clients have different hair with different needs. So much for being insulted with needing an honest and straightforward answer. This Great Clips is not great. Shy away if you can. Do not be surprised if prices and services change on the spot as it can and probably will happen. read more

I have been receiving haircuts from great clips for years now and have always been satisfied with their service, until now. I walked in expecting a normal haircut. I came across DEBRA and she asked if the notes on the computer were the same. 4 on top and zero on the sides.I confirmed and stated, yes that's right. As she cut my hair she went too high on the fade and the fade was not a true fade. It showed a line. I told her about it and she apologized and I told her the hairline was too high and to try to fade it in. I was upset as it is and I understand we all make mistakes. So as I walk to the register, I was expecting a dollar off or something. She charged me full price and was very disappointed. Thank God my hair grows back fast.. read more

So apparently the Salon does not wash hair or blow it dry due to COVID, which makes no sense to me. I left because I wanted my hair washed and styled. Also, the thought that the Salon cuts dirty hair was not very appealing. read more

Khadija is the best! She knows exactly what hairstyle I like and keeps it consistent.

Going here for a fade?? You're better off sticking your head in a damn lawnmower! Good luck..find another spot!

Was it my wife was shopping at Walmart so I walked across the street went to great clips to get a haircut and I asked the lady inside their how much their haircuts were and she says $16 I go what that's too much she goes how much do you pay I go $10 wherever I go she was well go there how rude middle-aged Portuguese lady very very rude lady read more

Don't go to Vivian, they couldn't do a low fade, she was rude and clearly doesn't know how to cut hair unless your style is a shaved head. They still expect you to pay for a haircut they butchered, all the manager could offer is a free haircut only redeemable for me? I'm not going back, what a joke. read more

Great Clips - Inside - Hair Salons Near Me - Galt, California

Walked in with my curly hair long on top and a bit long on the sides. Asked for 1/2 inch of the top and faded sides. The lady shaved my head, messed up my bangs, and was rough about the whole thing. I didn't have the heart to tell her that I hated it. I had to go to a different place in Galt to fix it because my hairline had at least an inch difference from one end of my forehead to the other. Didn't know it was even possible to be that horrible. Great place to come to if you like quick, shabby haircuts. read more

Today I went to this location to get a haircut and Andrew listened to how I like my haircut and he did amazing wand he was very friendly and professional I would definitely come to get a haircut from him again read more

Would give 0 stars if I could. From the moment I walked in I caught nothing but attitude from the apparent owner. She was extremely rude and seemed to be looking for any reason to give me grief. After being confronted she then tried to excuse her behavior for being "tired" and hot from wearing her stupid little mask. Extremely unprofessional. Would not recommend. read more

This was a terrible experience. I took our 7 and 5 year olds to get cuts for school pictures. The same stylist cut both of their hair. She did bad job. Crooked bangs, uneven clumps in the back. My wife called back and requested an adjustment, which was agreed upon. My wife shows up, gets the kids their proper haircuts and then is told that she will have to pay full price! She says no, and after 15 mins of himming and hawing, she just walks out. Not coming back here again. read more

Was hoping to get my son a quick trim so we figured we would try this place. As soon as we walked in the woman behind the counter was extremely rude. The place stunk just like her attitude so we walked right out. No thanks! read more

I don't know why they have all the poor reviews. This place was great the staff was friendly and the store was supper clean. We didn't have more than a 5 minute wait time. read more

The cuts and ambience are great, and the workmanship is fine, but be sure you get the correct operator. One lady in there gave me a Bible thumping haircut, saying things like the Bible says all oceans are the same depth and that the ocean goes through the earth (two opposing comments) neither one is true. She also said, "every word in the bible is correct," and many more offensive comments. I told her I had two degrees, one from Stanford, but that's when she cut my ear with her number 4 clippers. (true) I hope this gets to management. I wonder if this is the same woman encountered by Sara S.?Lisa Q and Emily F. Or perhaps this woman is throwing the other employees off their game. read more

I needed a quick trim for the weekend. I just traveled from 4 hours put of town. I walked in for a haircut. And my hair turned out great. read more

I wrote an email on their Great clips website to let them know how this manager had treated us. They promptly responded that they were sorry but the company is a franchise and there wasnt much they could do but they would be in touch with the manager. The next day i had a missed call from a private number, it was a man stating he was the owner and he was sorry and that this manager would be reprimanded and he was sorry he missed me but he would try to call me back.........8 days later no call. Since he called private there was no call back number so there you go. NO ONE AT GREAT CLIPS GIVES A DAMN. Please dont waist your time or money here. These people need to go out of business. read more

If I could give this place less than one star than I would!! I would never ever go back here ever again. I went into get my hair trimmed and layerd and the lady didn't even wet my hair when she cut it, my hair is curly so by not wetting it she cut off way more than I wanted off, also was very painful. I left very unhappy and in tears due to how short she cut it... Beware. read more

Terrible! Was "greeted" if you can call it that, by a woman with dark long PERMED hair! Yes, I said, "PERMED". She had dark, ugly lip liner that was outside her lip line. She never smiled. SHE CHOPPED MY HAIR. IT LOOKS LIKE I CUT IT MYSELF. My husband had his hair cut, a basic "1" and a "3" clipper cut. We both started our haircuts at the same time. My hair was waist length. I wanted it shorter, layered, face framing layers and bangs. She finished my hair at the same time the other woman finished shaving my husbands hair! How could this be? It can be because she did a terrible job. DO NOT GO HERE! YOU HAVE BEEN FOREWARNED. read more

LEARN HOW TO CUT CURLY HAIR, OR JUST CUT HAIR IN GENERAL. Heavy set lady, short hair, pierced lip. I told the girl TWICE yesterday my hair needed to be WET to cut it. She grabbed her spray bottle to spritz my hair, I again said "My hair has to be WET to cut it", I have naturally curly hair. She finally wets it in the sink, great. Go back to the seat and she tells me since I have curly hair she going to cut across at the curls WITHOUT tension, WTF. I told her if she did that my hair would not be cut correctly, HEY LADY just encase you did know hair NEVER curls the same way twice. So goes "OH do you straighten you hair, then yeah it wouldn't be even then". DOESN'T matter if I straighten it or not, the way you were going to do it would have been crooked and uneven. read more
