I'm writing after spending three weeks crying and upset. I recently got the worst haircut of my life at your salon in Fort Wayne, Indiana on Lima Road. Not only is it uneven and chopped up to my ear and splits in sections.
My hair was very much a security blanket and I only realized that after receiving my "trim" three weeks ago.
I went into this salon on Lima Rd three weeks ago for a trim. The women I normally see was with another customer and I was called up by a young man with growing out bleached hair. I showed him pictures of how my hair was and what I wanted. Same exact hair cut mybstylist had been doing for 2 years. I explained my hair needed to be cut dry because it is so thick, that it can't be blunt cut, discussed blending some layers, reviewed how Darrian did these things. Very detailed. I wanted my Shag, only trimmed.
The back of my hair was to the middle of my back. The very bottom of that, last 2 inches, were very dry and I asked for that much to be cut off.
He immediately grabbed his spray bottle. I reminded him not to wet my hair and he said he was just spraying the ends I wanted cut to make it easier to trim.
He sprayed his bottle, combed my hair and before I could stop him he took his scissors and cut a chunk of my hair at the base of my skull in the middle of the back of my head. 6 inches. 4 more than I asked for.
He took my hair back 2 years. I cried through the whole cut. He didn't listen to a thing I said. No way to fix his first cut, so I let him finish.
Once done he said to me "I don't even want yo show you the back". He knew.
He then discounted my cut price without me asking. He KNEW he messed up.
The manager later said she saw me leave upset. But, never said anything while I was there...
I got home and brushed my hair. It was so uneven. The right side longer than the left by a full inch. Long pieces of missed strands in the back. A few pieces still reaching the middle of my back.
I had had curtain bangs and he razored part of the left side so now my bangs split in the middle AND on the side.
I called the store in hysterics and the next day I went in to see the woman that normally cuts my hair there. There wasn't much she could do unless I wanted to lose even more length so she cleaned it up the best she could. I was refunded the $ I originally paid for my cut which was minus the tip I gave the guy. I then tipped my stylist because I wasn't going to not to. She did work on my hair. The salon also gave me two free cut cards. Both of which I've already thrown away.
I had no idea how much my hair meant until now. I've cried every day. I look in the mirror as little as possible. I pull it back all the time. I wear baseball caps when I go out. I broke up with the guy I was seeing because I didn't want him to see me. I won't date. I won't go out to do anything. I won't attend my friends wedding next weekend.
I've styled it every way I can think of. It doesn't matter. It's blunt cut. It's chopped up and splits in sections where layers are shorter at the ends.
It is the worse hair cut I've ever gotten and it has devastated me. Everyone keeps saying it will grow out in 6 months but, it took me two years to get the length I had. 2 years!!!!
I'm told to get extensions while it's growing. While I'd love to there's no way I can afford good ones. Professional ones.
The stress in my life was enough. Adding this short, chopped, emo haircut has me spilling over.
I am devastated over this hair cut.
2 free cuts does not fix this. I am so angry.
This haircut is traumatic. It has hurt me. 6 inches of self esteem chopped off and all I got was an "oops" and two free cuts.
There's nothing that can be done. I won't go shorter to fix the choppiness.
I contacted Great Clips Corp and got a cut, copy and paste email back.
Then the general manager of this salon emailed me and offered a cut at no cost to me....also stating that the gentleman that cut my hair no longer works there.
So I'm just left ugly and devastated. read more
