Nicole gave me a trim for my long hair, she brought some really chill vibes and got my hair cleaned up in no time at all!! Thank you very much for a good time :) read more

On 7/22/26 at approximately 3 PM, my 15 year old daughter and I visited this location as a walk-in and were checked in by the one/only stylist who was working. My daughter's name appeared on the check-in screen and we were told we'd receive a text announcement on when the appointment would be ready, as we'd be waiting for one person ahead of us to be served first. Completely fine, and I stated we'd wait outside in the car for our turn and the stylist acknowledged this. After time went by which seemed like too much time and not receiving a text, I entered the salon to find that not only had we not received a text to let us know our appointment was ready, but the stylist already took another customer who was seated and perhaps halfway through a haircut. My daughter's name was off the screen and another person's name was listed. The stylist stated it was not her fault that we didn't receive a text message. I also confirmed with her that we were waiting right outside the front door in the car and an easy thing to do could have been just to wave at us from the salon door and we would have entered the salon. She did not sound concerned, apologetic, worried that a customer was passed over, etc. The stylist told me that we could wait until the next customer on the screen was completed and then we could have our appointment. We felt like the fact that we didn't receive a text notification didn't matter, we felt like the stylist didn't care enough to notify us when we were right outside the door, we felt like the stylist didn't want to take any accountability at all, and we felt like the stylist had no sense of customer service or caring at all. read more

I had a terrible experience. From the beginning, I asked for a buzz on the sides only and made it very clear that I did not want anything done to the top of my hair. I expected my request to be followed, but the haircut turned out very poorly. The fade on the sides was uneven, and I had to ask for the sides to be cut shorter. The stylist told me she couldn't get all the hair because my skin was "too slippery," which made no sense to me. I still had stray hairs sticking out, my hair was uneven on the sides, and the overall haircut looked unfinished. To make matters worse, I paid full price for a haircut that I now have to pay someone else to fix. The older Hispanic woman with glasses cut my hair, and I left extremely disappointed. I have lost all confidence in this place. Save your money and your dignity by going somewhere else. read more

Me and my sister wanted to give a shout out to our favorite hairdresser , Stephanie. Whichever Great Clips location she is at... she provides the best quality haircut every time we visit her. She does an excellent job on our haircut and to the point where I get several comments from strangers on my straight trim across in the back length. Latest comment was at a recent Padres game. She has this haircut trim technique down to a science. Amazing! Thank you Stephanie ! Location is also very clean ! read more

Wonderful service and a fantastic haircut! Steph listened carefully and did an amazing job. Thank you so much! I definitely plan to return. I recommend visiting in the mornings when it's a bit quieter. read more

I've been coming here for years, but after today I won't be returning. The stylist Maria did a terrible job and completely ignored my instructions. I came in with 3 inches of hair and told her I didn't want to cut much off the top, just clean it up. She asked about taking off 1/2 inch and I said less than that. Instead, she cut almost all of my hair off. The "fade" on the sides and back is uneven and looks sloppy. I gave clear, detailed directions and she ignored every single one. Honestly, I don't think she has the right credentials, which might explain why the haircut turned out so poorly. This was one of the worst experiences I've had in a salon. read more

This was my first time getting a hair cut at a salon in my entire life. I grew up with my mom who's a licensed cosmetologist so my haircuts have always been taken care of. I was nervous because I've never had anyone else cut my hair. I was also nervous because of the poor reviews. But I received a coupon in the mail for a $13.99 haircut and for convenience, decided to give it a try. Gina made me feel welcome as soon as I walked through the door. She was friendly and really pleasant to work with. She asked me questions I've never been asked before, gave her recommendations, and you can tell she really enjoys what she does. She did an amazing job and I was happy with the results. I will be returning for her! read more

How you gonna say I'm next and then take the late check-in? Rarely has good service. Very disappointed.

Always great people here. Corina is amazing and kind. It's a great location, they crank the AC and play good music. Never a long wait.

This is our second time taking my daughter to see Gina. She has done such a great job cutting my daughter's hair. We will keep on coming back to see her, she did such a good job yesterday! Just what my daughter wanted. I really love the check in option, and it's never too crowded in there. All the girls are great. read more

Did you know there are two new Great Clips in the Chula Vista South San Diego area? I've visited both recently and both times have had amazing results! Each hairstylist had tons of experience and both took time to show me how to style my hair. They truly seem to enjoy working there. I'm completely and utterly satisfied with my beautiful hair cuts, so much so that I'm looking forward to my next trim! read more

We have a stylist for our family but she is on maternity leave right now. So my youngest son needed a cute so I checked in online with an expected wait of 18 min. I live 4 min away so no problem. Nikki (sp) took my son, and he had old notes in the system from a prior visit. (I forgot her name, she was fantastic!) but nikki started reading notes saying, "I don't know what this means...." looking at me like I know what they mean! Anyway, her tone and attitude was not pleasant. The front of my sons hair looked OK however I don't think she knows how to fade and the back of his neck was just cut straight line with the clippers with no fade. She used one size clippers (3) for his whole head, minus his bangs. read more

Hailey is an angel, a total gift from God. Mom just got out of the hospital and cannot wet her body, and it is so hard to wash hair without getting her wet. Hailey took her time and massaged her scalp. Mom was so happy. Hailey was so gentle and asked her what she liked every step of the way. I am a Great Clips fan thanks to Hailey!!!!!! read more

It's always about the customer service and interaction with me. I love to feel that my kids have their personal stylist that they know and feel comfortable with. Karina has been cutting my hair for years. She is a highly skilled and knowledgeable hairstylist. I have cowlicks that make my dome incredibly difficult to cut; however, she has the ability to always make my hair look great. She is great with children, makes them feel very comfortable, and does an awesome job cutting my kids hair. One stop at Great Clips to see Karina, and the whole family looks sharp! Highly recommend. read more

Karina had a great sense of humor and was able to fix my hair after my last haircut (from another chain of barbershops) wasn't to my liking! Conversation was great, and the vibe of the salon was professional and clean. Janette was also there and provided some great conversation since it was a little slow when I came in, which was fine by me! Would recommend for all of your haircut needs as the ladies were very sweet and did their jobs amazingly!!! read more

I needed a hair cut BAD! Saw the negative reviews but still decided to give the place a chance. The wait was about 40 minutes because there were people checked in before me. If you've never been here(like me) you have to check in online and it saves your spot before getting to the salon. The lady that cut my hair was nice and actually listened to what i wanted. read more

I'm so glad that we walked into Great Clips (in Sunbow Plaza) 12 years ago. My son was a toddler at the time, and I didn't know what to expect when I took him to get his first haircut. Karina Veth was understanding, patient, and put my mind at ease. Throughout the years, she has continued to welcome us with a positive attitude, and we feel comfortable asking her questions. She genuinely cares about people. My son, now a teenager, recently decided to change his haircut. Karina provided him with some options, and he found one that really worked for him. She maintains a high level of professionalism and always does her best to meet our needs. Five stars for Karina! read more

I cannot speak to all of the bad reviews for this establishment but me and my son have been coming here for over 5 years before that I would go to the Eastlake shop. I have never received a bad haircut nor bad service. People need to chill out and quit complaining so much. These are not regular times. This business has been negatively impacted by Covid-19 in a serious way. It is not a time to be nit picking and berating a business so bad that they lose more customers. These girls are trying their best. If their best is not good enough for you find another place. I enjoy coming here and getting in and out quickly with their app on line it is pretty cool. Give this place a chance to survive and thrive in this environment. After that complain all you want. As for me I will back this place up! read more

Took my grandson and he got a terrible cut all uneven! Don't go until they change barbers.

Excellent haircut. I get real short haircuts because Im basically bald. I was happy because it was extremely neat. I was welcomed when I came in. Everything was positive and the hair stylist listened to what I needed. Great job. read more

I brought my grandson in to get a haircut and a young lady named Natalie cut his hair. After leaving I realized my 4 yr old grandson's hair looked totally embarrassing. I don't know what this "Hair Stylist" was thinking. I was more than upset. I returned to have it fixed but Natalie had already left. So, Carla (another Hair Stylist) was able to fix it and apologized for the hack job that was done. Thank you Carla for you help. Beware of having Natalie cut your hair. read more

I was greeted once I walked in. Check-in was easy because you can do it on their website without waiting inside and it gives you time to drive there if you are nearby. I didn't get the stylist's name, but she was a young woman with curly hair. She was friendly and easygoing and gave recommendations. A lot of us rely on the stylist's opinion since we don't know a lot about hair or what would work best for our goal. She carefully cut my split ends and left my hair to the desired length and wasn't rushed. I had just left a salon due to their terrible service (Fantastic Sam's) but Great Clips made up for it. read more
