I really like this place BUT . . . My husband and son have been trying to find a good salon/barber shop to get their haircut every 2-3 weeks. They've been to all the good places in Eastlake and finally settled on Great Clips in the Target shopping center. It has great hours and they accept all sorts of coupons. In addition, the stylists are friendly. However, this past Saturday, my 7 year old son had the most horrible experience with one of their staff members. She was rude and unprofessional. During the haircut she was applying too much pressure and he kept saying "Ow, ouch." I was standing with him almost the whole time and thought maybe he's being a little dramatic. She never apologized or adjusted how she was cutting his hair. She was rough and at the end, as she was attempting to brush off the stray/cut hair, I stopped her and said "That's enough." It finally ended and we left, my son in tears. Parents--if you bring your children here, AVOID MARTHA. Based on my experience, she is not kid friendly and I would hate for this to happen to another child. I spoke to Nina before I left and she comped the haircut, as she witnessed the incident. The next day, I asked to speak to the manager, Jennifer. She was completely understanding, professional and apologized for what occurred. My husband was very upset when I told him what happened and doesn't want my son to go back. We've had only good to great experiences here so I'm on the fence about this. If you are a regular customer, you know that Jennifer, Nina and Jaimie are friendly and some of the stylists who do a wonderful job. Five stars for them but ZERO FOR MARTHA, so overall I'm giving a 3-star rating. Thank you, Jennifer, for addressing my concerns so quickly. We may be back. read more

I came as a walk-in to this location (I haven't been here in years) and I didn't know there was a online check-In which was about 1 hour when I checked in. I sat down for a few min and was thinking of walking to the nearby target since I had all that time until Karina figured out the schedule. None of the check-ins were there and she squeezed me in. Despite how busy it was, I didn't feel rushed at all. She did an excellent job with my hair and I was 120% satisfied with my haircut and the exemplary customer service! I don't go to the salon often so I don't have a specific stylist that does my hair nor do I generally know what style I want. I usually give a general idea of how I wear my hair normally and the length I would like cut off then I trust the stylist to know what to do from their. She did fine on the length and layers even got a good amount of split ends.. but when I asked her if she could do something with my bangs so they weren't all the same length so kind of curtain bangs. She took them and cut two inches off making them very short then Angeles them down towards my face. Like short up to the ears then angled down to my chin framing my face. I went yesterday for a hair cut for my two boys. Melanie took me in and began the haircut. Since the beginning she had zero customer service. Second she asked if my son was sick because he was coughing. She said I don't want to get sick. I said we'll do u have a mask she responded I don't have any. She stopped cutting his hair and repeated several times she didn't want to get sick. She said you should have put a mask on your son or kept him home. !!!!! So I told her if ur working in a public place exposed to everyone why don't u wear a mask if u don't want to get sick??? She made a disgusting face and said because I'm not sick. and kept saying she didn't want to get sick. She stopped cutting my sons hair which is when I said I want someone else to finish his hair cut because you're being rude. DO NOT GET A HAIR CUT HERE FROM KARINA. My hair is absolutely destroyed!! These are supposed to be long layers! I came in with hair down to my thighs, basically perfect for cutting into long beautiful layers, and my hair is horrendous! I thought I would give this place a chance because it was $23 versus $50 for a salon cut, and I WISH I just paid the extra $25 for a decent cut! I was so excited to get a cut and then I come home to this. Mind you, I have gorgeous hair and this is the first time I've EVER had a cut this jacked up. This looks like the type of stuff I would do on my own at home. The lady who cut my hair did not use a typical layering cut technique, so I thought it was some new advanced technique--IT WASNT--and lo and behold, my hair looks like a kid chopped that ish up. Zero stars. The woman with red and pink hair destroyed my kids hair. I specifically asked before she got started if she was experienced with cutting curly hair. All I wanted was my son's hair trimmed and evened out. Instead she did a hatchet job. When I stopped her because I could see it she was already not doing what I request she got belligerent and tried to tell she was the professional and I didn't go to school fo hair so she knew best. She cut off over 4inches of hair and left his hair looking like a mushroom. Not only is this place unprofessional and doesn't adhere to requested style from clients their actual training in cutting hair is horrific. Don't go here. You will leave traumatized. read more

I've always had good experiences here. Employee turnover means you can have a regular hair stylist but within 6 months they are gone. But everyone here is good...they keep notes in the computer of your hair styling needs. Clipper length, style on top, etc...
