My husband went there yesterday (07/10) at 4:30pm for a haircut and they were already closed. Apparently they had to close early due to staff shortage issue. Obviously the owner and/or management has a problem in getting staff to work the hours needed to keep store open. We ended going to the location in Mount Vernon. They had two stylists working with a great attitude and people willing patiently to get their haircut. We won't be coming back to the Burlington location. read more

Worst haircut I've ever had in my life. If you have ethnically curly or wavy hair, DO NOT get cut here. They do not specialize in that. The poor lady who cut my hair, English is not her first language. If you tell her what you want, she'll say yes, but really has no idea what you're talking about. She didn't even go with OR against the grain, she just cut in all directions. Maybe it's my own fault. I've never gotten a haircut at a great clips before and this was an atrocious introduction. Just had one of the worst haircuts of my life. A total of 5 minutes was spent. She didn't talk, seemed super rushed and tugging my hair in weird ways . I asked for a trim/update and said I have a v cut and layers. She then asked if I just wanted length cut? I said I would like all over update. Then no talking til I mentioned how long it had been (4months) and needed the layers better since so much had grown. She pulled 3 sections weirdly over my face and then brushed it vigorously. I thought she was lightening it and then she said she was done after using the hair dryer. I commented I don't use them and she just stopped and took off the cape. No asking or showing me her done hair,just removed cape. With my hair all crazy from the hair dryer? OK? Idk if she's having a bad day or what but I wasn't rude to her in anyway? I don't get it. The dude next to me who has no hair wasn't even close to done and he was there before me. Just lame cause I am broke, disabled and can't afford this or another one to fix it. There are no layers in my hair and honestly it looks worse. My hair was super long and layered. Now it's weird. Maybe take a minute- you've been doing this a long time? I came in today a half hour before closing having checked in on line. A tall Asian lady was to cut my hair. She had not cut my hair before so I took the time to explain to her with my long full head of hair that I just wanted a trim. I explained to her on top that I wanted it long enough to layer and the sides full with some hair over my ears. i was very careful. I said since you have not cut my hair before just cut a little as we can always cut some more but you can't undo it. She then took the electric clippers and started at the top of my forehead and went backwards toward the back of my head cutting it about 1/4 inch or a 1/3 of an inch. You have no idea how shocked I was to watch her go down the center of my head and part my hair that way with it still full on both sides. Without wasting more of your time, despite what I continued to say she cut me like not a squirrel. but a chipmunk! It is the shortest hair cut I have had since I was 6 years old almost a flat top and then shaved the sides and back of my hair to the ground. I kept saying things and she clearly heard but obviously did not understand English. This is not short Amy, but this taller Asian lady. How could management hire someone to cut hair that does not speak English? She could not even get my prepaid card to work right and it left my card down to the bottom without enough for even one haircut. what is happening there for this to take place.? Had tried to do a walk in the week before school started. Big mistake, there was an hour wait. So I left and returned the following week. This time I also made my appointment online in advance. There was only a twenty minute wait for walk ins when I arrived. I only had to wait about 2 minutes. I was just getting a trim, so I was in and out in no time. Historically, I usually don't get consistent results from whites (99% asian stylists since forever), but she did a nice job, I thought. I asked for the sides to come in to square my haircut and instead of clipping above my ears, she clipped away everything along where my head curves and made it pointy. This is my fourth cut so this review is only about the stylist Jessica. All my other stylists were 5 star. Jessica used a thin tooth comb on my mid back length hair starting at my ears. After ratting my hair she told me it was my fault it tangled, that my hair is too dry. My hair is not dry. I start from my ends and never get ratting. Then she did a sloppy end trim. She has long hair but is just really bad at her job. read more

Went in for a trim today. I have long hair. I had a male hairstylist. He made my hair so wet ( with spray), I couldn't really tell how he was styling it. Also, he had no clue how to "face frame" my hair. It was uneven and looked awful. I had to ask for another hairstylist, to do it right. I was frustrated and couldn't wait to leave. Maria blew it. I came with a photo of myself with my bob from six weeks earlier. Maria was brash, rude, cut my hair too short, and thinned it all over destroying the semi thick hair I'm lucky to have at age 65. I look like a pinhead and I'm embarrassed. read more

Went in recently for a light trim. I have very long hair. I asked for 3-4 inches for trim, pretty easy. Stylist insisted on more, at least 6 inches, I said I only want split ends trimmed, like 3 maybe 4 inches. She commented on how long my hair was, and asked if I liked it that long. Yes, I do, this is intentional. She then asked when was the last time I had short hair, I said maybe 6 years or so, and even then not short, at least shoulder length. She again, asked if I liked my hair longer, I said yes. She set to trimming my hair, and with the first couple snips long tendrils dropped. I gasped, she said don't worry about it, your hair is so long you won't even notice it. Can't very well cut and run now, with odd length chunks out of my hair. She cut it, not trimmed. By the time she was "evening it out" she had cut at least 7 inches off my hair! 7 inches! I has asked for 3 to 4 inches to be trimmed! There is a big, noticeable difference for anyone who has long hair if 7 inches is taken away. I'm not very happy she did what she wanted and not what the customer requested. About double the amount of hair was cut. I LOVE my long hair, I take good care of it. I'm saddened and upset that the stylist did not listen. I've had other stylists there try to convince me to go short hair, and when I say no, just a trim, they do what I ask. This person did not, and it is upsetting that just because she likes her hair a certain length, and feels it is long enough, that she would disregard a customers choice to have their hair differently. She will never touch my hair again. I'm pretty upset with losing that much length, as it takes a long time, with lots of care to grow it that long. read more

I went to Great Clips on 1/12/16. I have been going to this location for over 20 years. This includes my family. On this day, I was assigned a lady to cut my hair. We discussed what I wanted and she started to cut my hair. She started to cut my hair quickly and I even said, "whoa, whoa, slow down, you're going to fast." She got angry at me and started to ask me who was the one that cuts hair, me or her. Anyway, she ended up taking off my cape and I took a seat since I could not leave since one side had been cut. Another lady said she would finish my haircut. I took a seat and started to chat with a lady there. I looked up at the counter where a person checks in and the lady that was upset at me tells me not to look at her or she will call the police. Needless to say this was alarming since it is not against the law to look at someone. The more interesting thing is that she was saying this in front of many people that were there. She was loud and rude and obviously threatening me. I got my haircut and left. I was contacted by management who was very customer service oriented. Needless to say I will never go back to this place. The person that threatened me because I looked at her is still there. That is not my choice but the choice of management. The point is that a person can work at a place and no matter how long you have patronized a place, there is no customer loyalty. Be aware that if you go to this place and say the wrong thing, you may have the police called on you. read more
