Had a great experience here this morning with Nicole as my stylist. Business was already hopping when I came in at five minutes after opening, but she got to me within 20 minutes and gave me exactly the hair cut I wanted without me having to over-explain it to her. My hair is bushy and thick and not easy to cut. But she is very intuitive and that helped speed things along so I made it to my appointment next door within 40 minutes after walking in. Impressive! I had a very good haircut. The hairdresser was very nice. I did not have to wait long, as a walk in. The one problem was that the hairdresser used the same comb , scissor and wrap that was used on the person before me. They were not cleaned in anyway, before they were used on me. read more

I guess I got what I asked for. Cut one length. Done in 5 minutes, literally. $16 plus $2 tip. Seems like there should have been something more. Clips to section the hair? Tiny layers to get it to lay straight? Double checking? It took longer to put the drape over me than it took to cut. I'm going to try some other place next time. False advertisement-There is a sign on the main road-Hey 441 & Glades Rd indicating that the hair cut is $9.99. When I went to pay for the haircut, they claimed that their sign was stolen and it didn't belong to them. The lady never would entertain that it was false advertisement and charged me $14.00 for the haircut. The sign is still there today. read more

I had an EXCEPTIONAL experience here. In dire need of a trim, I made my way over to Great Clips. From the moment I stepped inside, I was treated with an exceptional bout of courtesy - something I'm not quite used to in the Boca Raton area. The lady inside warmly welcomed me, kindly requested my contact information, and offered to seat me right away. Another gorgeous stylist, Lucia, energetically introduced herself and referred to me by name throughout the cut - making me feel right at home. Lucia totally saved me from myself: I requested a 5 on top and a 2 on the sides. During the cut, she presented an opportunity to adjust my request that would help accentuate my hair-do. I've always been happy with the service and haircuts I receive at GreatClips, so when I saw that a new salon was opening near me, I decided to drop on by. As always -- an excellent experience! It was a Saturday and the salon was celebrating it's grand opening, so I made sure to check-in online. When I got there, it wasn't busy, and I wouldn't have had to wait anyway (but still, check-in online before you go!) Kevin cut my hair just the way I wanted it. They can even keep notes on your last haircut in the computer so you can get the same style the next time you come in. We are both very, very happy with our first trims of the season at this location of Great Clips. $8.99 + tip (holiday promotion) for a quick, but precise men's haircut? You can't beat it. We're sure that all of the stylists are good, but Laurie was a standout. She has NYC training and experience, and has taught in New York as well. She's got a really good, intuitive and experiential understanding of what will work with the 50-something thinning hair on my crown. I've spent upwards of $100 on "stylists", and this trim was every bit as good as the best of them for a fraction of the amount. If you have a good experience, tip heavily if it's affordable to you. This is a great place to check out if you're after a quick, inexpensive haircut (like me). They opened in the middle of last year and continue to offer some pretty good deals. I like how you can check-in online ahead of time, which saves time when it works, but occasionally there's some confusion with the system as to who was a walk-in and who checked in online. Everyone I've encountered here has been friendly and knowledgeable. Like another reviewer mentioned, they keep a record of what you requested for your previous haircuts, so there's no need to go over what you want each time. Service is fast! I come to Great Clips because 1/ you can get a haircut without the extra charges of a "fancy" salon which make the price reasonable. 2/ For me it close to home plus I come during week when there is less traffic in the shop. Lastly, I found Fabiola (stylist) who listens to me on how I want my haircut. She is engaging, up tempo person who is easy to talk to and wants you to be satisfied with your haircut. Walking into to a Pak Mail to get a po box, I was met by Adam, a hair dresser with Great Clips new location in Boca. Very politely he handed me a flyer and offered me a cut. As it turns out I needed one, so after my business at Pak Mail, I stopped in and Adam asked how I wanted the cut. I told him what I wanted and like any good stylist he did a great job. What made Adam stand out though was not just that his cut was outstanding, but that he asked if he could trim my (apparent) Einstein bushy eyebrows! Naturally I told him to break out the lawn mower and do some man-scaping to those bad boys! When I thought he was done he took the clippers and trimmed a few hairs in my ears to finish the job. He also asked if he could trim my Go-T and I declined. The fact that he asked and there was no up-charge really impressed me. I expect that kind of service at an upscale salon, but not a Great Clips! Top it all off he asked me what I did and then asked if it would be okay to introduce me to the owner and let me tell him about my profession... Seriously! Never had that kind of exceptional treatment; VERY Impressed. The Owner Tovar (spelling) was an Ultra Nice young man with a genuine entrepreneurial spirit. I enjoyed the whole experience. My stylist was Monica, she did a fantastic job and didn't take too long. I just needed a #4 on the back and a trim on the top. It had been a while since my last cut but she had me looking like an interview candidate in no time. Everyone was really friendly, there was no wait, and the prices were more than fair. I must say that sometimes you find out just how amazing a business is by going through a bad experience. A man cut my hair and really did a bad job. I call Great Clips corporate office and they said they would notify the owner of that franchise via email. Shortly after I received a call from the owner and was so impressed with the level of genuine concern for a customer of her establishment. Caryn cut my hair and felt like she was just rushing to get started without understanding what I wanted. I specifically told her how my hair flicked out when dry and she completely ignored that. I brought a picture with me to show what I and my hair does not look anywhere close to what I wanted. She gave me uneven layers without blending and now my hair looks like I got two different types of cuts. Unfortunately some of the layers are way too short, so it cannot be fixed or evened out. I think some stylists working here are good (example my husband and kids use Adam and they like him) but I prefer a lady stylist so didn't use him, maybe I will try that next time. Got a cut from Susan last time and it was great, she took the time to listen to what I wanted and also clarify things before she started cutting and it turned out great. Unfortunately she doesn't work here anymore. I decided to try it but wish I hadn't. They should really train the stylists to ask some questions to understand what the client wants. Just two minutes up front will save a lot of frustration and anger later on. Especially with regard to length. Caryn and I agreed upon a length of below the shoulder. But most of my layers end below my chin. I have no choice now but to get a short cut to fix this mess, not happy at all. read more
