You'd think that by now it would be easy to find stylists who can cut curly hair since curls have been trending but you'd be surprised!! Jewel has cut my hair twice now and I've really enjoyed my experience with her. I knew right when she started to cut it dry that we were off in the right direction. She's knowledgeable, friendly, and really takes away any nerves when she's cutting my locks. She also knows that I need a cut that works both curly and straight and she does a great job layering and framing without giving me what I call the "dog ears" or the "V" cut. Pricing is very reasonable even with it being in Boca. I would say if you're on the fence, definitely give it a try, the fancier the salon doesn't mean they are more experienced or know how to properly style curls. read more

I've never experienced so much love for curls and understanding of how to bring out their beauty. Faisal appears to be a fantastic teacher to his very enthusiastic team/disciples lol and includes them and explains things to them often. They ensure that you're comfortable at all times, as sometimes you must contort to give them the right angles to work on your hair. Hot towels under your neck at the wash sink, snacks and drinks and a very professional atmosphere. Totally 5 stars but I do have a note. I know it's hectic but to give the place even more glam (they have a fabulous glam chandelier), it's time for a paint job away from the ivory and into something that brings out the drama created in all our hair. Replace the nightstand-type stands for cool thrifted or Marketplaced finds. There is a fantastic vintage work table in the supply room - bring that baby out! Go crazy in the rest room with color and art. I know Faisal would love to do that but it's so busy, it's hard to find time. Yet for not a ton of spend they could really glamorize this bright interior and have it reflect the quality of creation being done there! Oh also, hard to reach by phone to find out if a stylist is running late. A lot of automation which is efficient but I'd rather know just when to come by placing a call to learn status. Just moved to West Palm Beach and urgently needed a haircut. I called In which they picked up the phone quickly and I was scheduled an appointment. The day of I was very nervous since some of the reviews made me feel pessimistic at first. As soon as I walk into the building I was greeted by this wonderful young women and offered me options of a water or coffee to drink. Then I was greeted by my stylist MariLu. She was very nice to me and she taught me proper care for my curls. If you knew me, you would fall over from the review of 5 stars. I have had curly hair forever and I've always dreaded getting it cut, styled, highlighted, and "relaxed." It's never good. But I took another chance and went to this salon for a qi qi treatment and it's my new go to place. Faisal is all the things the other 5 star reviews have said. I had a great time, was treated like a star, and, when I left, my hair felt like silk. I still have the curls only better. He listens, he's attentive, and he is a lot of fun to talk to. I asked on Facebook which salon my curly hair friends recommend and one suggested this salon. I later found out there are a couple of salons around the city. I signed up online for a wash and cut for $40. I ended up changing my appointment day and time. The team was very flexible with me and I ended up showing up early. The team was in a meeting when I arrived and I was still greeted and offered a drink while I waited. After the meeting I met Jasmine, we talked about my hair, the recent scandal, and kids. She is very friendly and I am very thankful for her kindness and attention to detail. She gave me good recommendations too on how to maintain my curls. I loved the dry cut and process. What I wish I had done differently was to communicate what I wanted. I didn't want my hair styled and I thought my stylus knew that. The price because of that changed from $40 to $80. I loved the look, but next time I will be more communicative. The next day I washed my hair and my hair didn't fall out as it normally does which was nice. I did like my curls and notices it really missed the products I used in the salon. If I wasn't trying to use less plastic, I would have bought it to use. MaryLou colored my hair about a month ago. I asked her to make sure there was no red. She got it done right! She was diligent to make sure all of my persistant grey was fully covered, especially the line around my face. She checked and double checked the roots, where I needed it too. She was kind, relaxed, and also gave a nice hair wash when we were done. I get nervous about getting work done on my hair. I feel relaxed around her. I mentioned to her that I needed a hair cut. She showed me pictures and took her time talking about it with me. No games or annoying chatter. Now today I'm going back in for a haircut w her as well. I'll keep you posted! Edith saved my hide after a terrible cut at another salon, by someone who does not understand curls. I came to Edith with my curls shocked into frizz, a two-inch undercut the other guy had carved into the back of my head to "remove bulk," and not a lot of length to work with. Oh, and an I important interview in a few days. The person who answered the phone heard the desperation in my voice and fit me in for the following day. Edith worked her magic and completely fixed the literal hack job I went in with. It is now completely adorable and even a little edgy and playful. Not sure how she did it but she did. For my birthday in the beginning of April, I decided to treat myself to a nice fresh hair cut and a balayage treatment with the hopes of adding some ashy blonde color to my super dark brown hair. I set my appointment, had my consultation where I sent visuals of the look I wanted to achieve, and what I got was an absolute mess. I've never felt so self conscious about my hair until now. I paid for a Balayage treatment and what I got was huge inconsistent chunks of bright piss yellow and burnt orange highlights covering my entire head. The original photos I showed the stylist/colorist as a guide showed VERY MINIMAL color to the hair, and a gradient affect allowing the ashy blonde to transition into my natural brown hair smoothly. You can clearly see in the photos this is NOT what I received. Now, I left the salon with SOPPING wet hair, because I didn't have time for them to style it as I had to pick up my child from school, so I could not see the true color until end of day when my hair was fully air-dried. I was so unhappy with the dye job, I immediately emailed the salon and told them how embarrassed I was to even walk around my place of business with this hair. They did their due diligence and offered me to come back and they would tone it down, however the toner only helps for maybe 3-4 days. I even purchased at-home toner to use every other day, as it is described in the instructions, to tone down the horrible color. It's been 3 weeks and I'm ready to purchase over-the-counter brown dye and take my natural color back. I paid $300+ including tips for a balayage color treatment and cut. The cut was nice, which is why this salon got the 2 stars, but I will probably never dye my hair again based on this experience. I felt as if the look I wanted to achieve was completely ignored and the colorist took it upon herself to just cover me in disgusting highlights. I've had people ask me to my face "why would you dye your hair like that?" "It looks like a clown's wig". Those are not comments you want to hear. I appreciate the salon offering the toner free of charge, but I will not be going back for their services moving forward. read more

Tuwanna did a great job on my "express cut" - a trim and reshaping - and my hair looks exactly as I hoped it would. I have never written a Yelp review before, but I think it's important people know not to trust everyone at this salon with their curls. I have been to Curls Rocks multiple times over the years. I've never LOVED my haircuts from there (they for sure do not listen to what you want and cut shorter than you ask) but they were always fine enough that I didn't feel the need to complain. Their customer service has never been anything to write home about either, but I kept coming back because it was the only place in town that did DevaCuts. In March I went for a haircut and left actually laughing and in shock at the job this girl did. She was super nice, which is why I waited so long to write this review, but two months later and it's still very clear Sofia was not experienced in curly cuts at all. I have 3A curls for reference. The entire back was so much shorter than the sides from the "layers" she did. There was NO rhyme or reason to the cuts she made. No style at all. She didn't even listen to me when I told her what Devacurl products I use even though I've been using them for 3+ years. When she finished she knew it wasn't good, and I actually cut some curls myself at home because I trusted myself more than her or going back there at that point. I'm sure the owner and other top stylists are good, but DO NOT trust any other stylists unless they are Level 3 DevaCut certified--and even then, it'll be worth it to take your money somewhere else. I have fine, 4b, kinky natural hair. I went in yesterday for a simple wash and go along with a heaven in hair treatment. I have been going to this studio since 2017 but I always go to Richie who I recently found out no longer works there. I decided to go to the stylist by the name of Tuwana for the same treatment and style I typically get done by Richie. After Tuwana styled My hair it looked as if it was not even done. It was extremely dry and brittle. I talked to the manager to try and see if I can be issued my full refund and he tried to convince me to come to other stylist and once I declined they said they would only issue me a $10 refund out of the $50 dollars I paid. Tuwana did not even fully complete my hair as Stephanie the sweet front desk receptionist had to finish blow drying/diffusing my hair. I have included pictures of the service I received yesterday. The worst experience I ever had. I was supposed to get color and a rezo cut. Even after I did every they asked for as far as sending pictures, they said they couldn't do the color because the process would take too long. The stylist who cut my hair didn't do a lot of speaking with me before cutting; I did stop and ask her questions. She pulled up the same photos I had seen online. She was rough. And she said "please don't break my comb" as she worked through my hair. She cut and she cut and she cut. Then when she went to wash it and style it is when it got worse. She ended up making me look like a dry mushroom. I looked 15 years older. I cried in the chair. I cried on the drive home. I will never go back. If you are a woman with kinky coily hair, do NOT trust them. You all regret it. But my fears were dimmed down after coming here for the past 2+ years. So for a while now I was thinking of the possibility of dyeing my hair but as a curly girl I was very cautious and did a lot of research as to who was going to do my hair! I came across this salon through several people on my Instagram and found the colorist Nadria (colormecurls on IG) and after getting over my fear I called and made an appointment. BTW! I live in Miami so I had to drive 45 minutes just to get the studio but it was well worth it. I walked into the studio and was amazed at how busy and neat it was. I walked up to the front desk where I was greeted by a lovely woman and I was told to have a seat. I waited about 5 minutes and was greeted by a green haired beauty, Nadria. We sat at her chair and I showed her my inspiration pictures and she chose a picture that said would look good on me. So she went to work. I arrived at 12 and left around 3 but that's because I have very dark hair and we were going lighter. I was pleasantly comfortable the whole time and I was so excited to see my final results. So we finally finished and I was treated to a Olapex treatment by Nadria. After all of this a nice shampooing and conditioning was done by a curly haired fellow (can't quite remember his name) but he was very funny and styled my hair with B'Leave In and the Ultra Defining Gel by DevaCurl. He then went to town with a diffuser and diffused my hair. After having my hair look super nice and leaving with a huge smile on my face. I would 100% recommend Nadria!! Book her if you're trying to change up your look. She is amazing and listens to you which is AWESOME. read more

As I have never been here before I was surprised how Anne took the time to sit down with me and take the time to consult and really look at my hair and ask what I wanted to do and what would be best.
