I received a call from someone at Cramer. The guy didn't want to come out to my house to tow it giving all kinds of excuses why he wouldn't pick the vehicle up. One of which was security!! I and my Wife are in our 70's and we need a vehicle. AAA is a 24 hour service Cramer is not honoring their objectives. AAA sent another dispatch to Cramer and they refused to pick the vehicle up. Be very aware of this company. If you are stuck on the road and the driver doesn't want for whatever reason you're not going to get a tow.

It was a long and drawn out process that took 4-5 hours of coordination, but my insurance eventually hooked me up with a towing company (shout-out to Yolie's Towing!), who then hooked me up with an even more local towing company, Lee Vining AAA Towing. The plan, carefully outlined and crafted through communication between Yolie's and Lee Vining Towing, was to bring my car to Lee Vining and spend the night since it was already getting late. The next day, LV Towing would take my car to the nearest Kia dealer that was en route home. When Damon arrived with that tow truck, it was like the pearly gates were opening right before my very eyes. I might have teared up. He secured my car onto the tow bed pretty much blindfolded with one finger and drove us into Lee Vining to spend the night. The camping trip turned out to be a nice little excursion into Mono Lake and exploring the small town's food scene (as recommended by Damon). The burger joint was on POINT. The next day, Eric was to drive us to a Kia dealer in Stockton. He only had one seat available in the tow truck, so he goes, "You guys just wanna ride in the car while it's on the bed?". Say. Less. We hop in. I'm thinking this is the coolest thing in the world - I'm getting a ride in my car on another car! It's like car inception. And the best part... Eric goes through Yosemite. We get to pass through this beautiful national park, like it's one of those double-deck tour buse experiences in LA or SF. We make it safely to Stockton for my car to get worked on. I sign some forms, and off goes Eric into the sunset. Like a hero. Thanks to these guys, an amazing memory in my life was formed that I can look back on with great fondness. Nick is an awesome mechanic with stand up service. The hours are a bit out of date (sounds like…read moreusually he's in at 10, not 8) but in such a rural area I can't fault him. My water pump sprung a leak at the summit of Hwy89 and I was holding my breath the whole way down. We were on our way to a wedding and caught him before lunch- he was able to diagnose the problem, and within a few hours he had the part delivered (impressive when the nearest auto supply store is 30 miles away) and ready to go before dinner. He was great about teaching us what was going on under the hood and even helped me install the new air filter I'd been driving around with for months. Thanks Nick!! You're a godsend.
