From scheduling the appointment, to dropping it off at the overnight drop off, getting updated while the work was preformed to picking it up the next day everything went as good as I could've hoped. Transmission has 184k miles from new and I really was hoping with the service it would be a little better and that's what I was told might be the case. I've given it a few hundred miles before writing this review and I can say it's MORE than a "little better". Not like new or anything (come on, how many Chevy transmissions even last that long, right? lol). I was up in Mammoth for a weekend camping trip when my car started overheating on Saturday afternoon. Being a weekend, almost every shop was limited or completely closed. As I waited for the engine to cool down, I decided to try my luck calling local shops, and Nancy with Mountain Motors was the only one who answered. Even though they were technically closed, she told me that if I could safely drive it the 10 minutes down to their shop, they'd take a look. I filled it with coolant and made it there without issue. It turned out to be a bad radiator. Because it was the weekend, we checked around and realized a replacement part wouldn't arrive until Wednesday. I spent the rest of Saturday and Sunday trying to figure out my options, including checking towing costs to get the car closer to home, which was going to be incredibly expensive even with my AAA. Throughout my initial indecisiveness, Nancy was so patient, helpful, and supportive. It was clear they had my best interests at heart, so I trusted them and decided to leave the vehicle in their hands. Not only did Mike repair the radiator, but he did it in a timely manner and even pointed out a few other maintenance items I should keep an eye on. My biggest issue was logistics, I only had one specific upcoming weekend available to make the trip back up to pick it up, or else it was going to be very difficult for me. They managed to squeeze me into their tight schedule to make it work. To top it all off, when I returned, dropped off my rental car at Mammoth airport, they even offered to pick me up and bring me back to the shop. Overall, Mountain Motors provides unmatched service. I picked it up a week or two later after it was finally repaired only to find the same issues. When I tried to have the the shop honour their warranty, I was told they were shortstaffed and could not even try to remedy it for at least a few weeks . After I took it back for the third time I discovered that the owner of the shop was using it to commute to his house and keeping it in his driveway overnight! I suspect he had been doing that for weeks during the second repair as well by the mileage indicated . I have recovered my truck with the help of the police and I am going to request a full refund for my transmission work and getting it repaired by another company.. This supposed 18 month warranty is worth absolutely nothing and this has been my experience. I hope it helps others to make a valid decision on where to go to get your vehicle and transmission repaired..

His name is Ron, and he's the guy behind Daily Driven Per4mance. We first encountered Ron through Yelp--we were looking for local auto mechanics to look over our 20-year-old car which was having a power steering problem. Ron gave us an estimate and timeframe over Yelp for looking at our car that was within our budget and timeframe. He took a look at the car and diagnosed a problem that would cost $1500 to fix--but he didn't charge us for the inspection itself. Instead, we promised him that we would bring the car we were planning to buy to replace our old car for him to look over. And that we did--we bought a used car as a replacement, a car we were very happy with, and a car which needed an oil change. We brought it to Ron for an oil change and a general inspection. He got both jobs done within a few hours, and he charged us a fair price for the service. (And he says we got ourselves a nice used car.) We did get us a nice car--and a nice mechanic to boot.
