This was our favorite local, walkable, wine bar when we were staying Alfama. The owner and staff are all attentive and personable. Hi - tell Gloria, the dog, I miss her already and to be a very good girl. :)
We enjoyed this place so much that we were very sad on the night we walked alllllll the way straight uphill to go there again to find that it was their off night. Should have checked before we left haha.
We walked to this place most nights during our time there and they had a nice, compact, but very good selection/variety of wine. Very chill, hole-in-the-wall, place that feels like your neighborhood "home" for wine and snacks. They have a pretty solid variety of snacks/tapas as well. Very limited seating, 5-6 small 2-top tables and one larger 4-5 top table but its best this way... its meant to be a cozy, quaint, neighborhood space where you can drink wine and chat - its not meant to be a bustling restaurant so to speak.
Prices were very reasonable; very much recommend the Dona Reserva and the Trans Douru Express. We ordered one of those two most nights there. We loved Portugal so much we can't wait to return and when we do, not if, we will return here as our nightly wine stop. read more
