Any time you can support local businesses and purveyors, eat locally grown and flavorful…read moreveg-forward food, prepare that food yourself fresh and to your liking, and have it delivered right to your door via bike, is a win in my book. We currently get AlFreshCo for one meal per week, and it's nice to look forward to an interesting, local, seasonal, meat-free dish every week. Initially we were thinking we'd use it for a weekday lunch, but we find even with most of the prep done for you that some of the dishes take a while to cook, so tend to save it for a dinner instead (some of the time estimates are pretty accurate, others are definitely low-balled in our experience). There are 4 recipes to choose from each week, and we like the international bent of the meals- it's fun to have the opportunity to make and eat things you don't regularly see, like koshari or an African peanut stew, and even the more common food items (noodles, dal) are still nice to have. We've been generally pretty happy at the end result- it's all been pretty solid, nothing that has made our jaws drop or anything but still nice for what it is. It's also appealing to cut down on our carbon footprint, not only in the process (less packaging, bike delivery) but in the food itself (locally sourced, no meat). Would recommend.

Had my first delivery of hominy and bean chili and it's actually hot enough (okay I also added some hot sauce, but it's nicely spicy on its own) for this CA transplant. Could I have made it on my own without the ease of the kit? Sure? Would I have? Not according to the empty chips bags from last week. I'm excited to have these kits delivered a couple of times a week and see what new meals await.

All cheese and fruit are very delicious and fresh. It's really been a highlight for that party. The delivery is good. But when I talked with the owner, knowing she is living in Hopkinton, then the delivery service was outstanding! I lived in Newton, and asked to deliver around 5pm. She was arriving nearly at 5 sharp. She came to my house and provided some instructions and additional tools. My experience was great. I will definitely order again and recommend to my friends.

Probably like many others, I found myself snacking all the time now that COVID-19 has us home 24/7,…read moreso I was in search of some healthy snacks made locally that I could have delivered to my home. So thrilled I thought of Nüssli118. I had previously attended a vegan dinner at her retail location in Cambridge and loved it. I wanted to try everything so I ordered the gluten-free bites (ginger spice and pumpkin spice), her sprouted nut clusters, ginger lemon squares, and her new vanilla spice overnight oats. The gluten-free bites satisfies my cookie cravings without the sugar crash. The nut clusters were awesome, I couldn't decide if I liked the maple or salted caramel flavors best so I found myself alternating. They were the perfect late night snack. But the winner was the overnight oats- YUM. It was super easy to make- just add a cup of milk (we did unsweetened almond milk) in a jar, toss them in the fridge and voila- you've got breakfast with no effort. If you're looking for healthy snacks while we aren't able to go to the gym and you want to support a small business, this is the place to order. All of her products are gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan. Even though I'm not a vegan, I love to eat raw foods because they give me energy without the crash or late night cravings. Highly recommend you try everything at first because it's all unexpected and delicious.
