Charcuterie as art. I follow the Graze & Co. Instagram account and have always marveled at the beautiful trays, boxes, and platters. I finally got the perfect opportunity to see the work in person.
First of all, they were so kind and accommodating. Despite the website stating they were sold out, they squeezed me in! For planning purposes, I had tried to put my order in a week in advance. Next time, perhaps 2 weeks would have been safer. Conveniently, all orders and payments are submitted online.
Anyway, I was so excited. This was to be for a bachelorette get away weekend just over the border in New York. Newtown was right on my way through. I could not think of a better timed and placed occasion. I placed my order for a board for 6-10 people. As we drew closer to the time, they updated me on pick up. Being such a special event, I was nervous so I very much appreciated the messaging. I also was super late due to traffic. Not a problem though as they leave the order at NewSylum Brewery which is open relatively late. A great relief to me as I told them 4:30 originally and ended up there an hour later. When I got to the brewery, I gave the bar my name and they were just as excited to give me my order as I was to get it! It was gorgeous. I attached a picture, but it does not do it justice. It was perfectly wrapped in cellophane with a beautiful bow. The variety of crackers were in two boxes in a small paper bag. Easy and convenient for me to carry. Thank goodness because I did not even consider it and I was not parked right next to the building.
The board itself was just amazing. The colors and the flavors ran the entire spectrum. Everyone was able to find more than a few things to nibble and graze on. Purple cauliflower, raspberries, peas, grapes, figs, honeycomb, and so many different dried meats and nuts. There is a beautiful card included listing everything on the board in case there are concerns about allergies or curiosity about items. There were at least 6 different types of crisps and crackers in the boxes. If you do know of allergies, you can include them in the notes for your order by the way. There were 11 of us picking at the board on and off all day. At the end of the day there was still so much left. More than enough goodies for everyone!
I really wanted something unique and special for my friend's bachelorette party. This was above and beyond my expectations. Some may go online and look at the prices and gasp, but I thought it was more than worth it. I am a huge fan of the charcuterie platter for parties and have put many a board together myself. Therefore, I know how time consuming it is and how expensive it can get when you are purchasing such a large variety of quality, fresh morsels. I highly recommend checking Graze & Co. out and at the very least following the Instagram (@grazeandcoct) account for your daily dose of food porn. read more
