I recently had the pleasure of hosting my wedding at GBC, and I can confidently say it exceeded every expectation I had. From the moment we arrived, the venue took our breath away. The picturesque setting, adorned with string lights and lush plants, created an enchanting atmosphere that made our day feel truly magical. I rode onto the beach on the back of a Ford bronco with my father, which was one of the best experiences of my life, peopled waved to us screaming "congratulations!" and "woooo!!"and I just waved and felt like a princess. It was a perfectly fun and sweet way to get to the isle. The food was nothing short of extraordinary. The Southern Cajun cuisine was a highlight, offering a flavorful and authentic taste that had our guests raving. Every dish was prepared was excellent. We had the taco bar, and shrimp and grits bar with crab cakes and bruschetta for appetizers. Our day-of coordinator, Jackie Ward, was a true gem. Her attention to detail and dedication to bringing our vision to life was unparalleled. Jackie ensured everything ran seamlessly, allowing us to fully enjoy every moment of our special day without any stress. The wedding itself was beautiful beyond words. The combination of the venue's stunning ambiance, the exquisite food, and Jackie's impeccable coordination made this event the best event ever!! After the wedding a ton of people said it was the best wedding they have ever been to, which is a BOLD statement!! The cake was also amazing, (we also had a grooms cake shaped like an opposum and I quite literally cried from how awesome it was) adding a perfect touch of humor to our celebration. In short, GBC provided an exceptional experience that went above and beyond my dreams. I do not recommend this business for anyone planning an event or especially a wedding. The owner was extremely unresponsive and unhelpful in every single interaction. She also incurred unauthorized charges on our credit card (which she has done to many other couples per the many reviews on her website). We've used GBC for a family event twice in the past 2 years. The food is exceptional both in quality and quantity. We had 12 people and were fed for a couple of days afterwards. The staff at both events were different but both groups were engaging and beyond helpful. Can not recommend them more highly. read more

Let me tell you what a thief, liar and dishonest person Cheri is! We hired Grayton Beach Catering to cater my ONLY CHILDS rehearsal dinner May 9th 2025. After giving her a $12k down payment in Sept 2024 she then used my credit card to charge me an additional $12k that wasn't authorized! She made many excuses as to why this happened blaming her office manager. After a couple of months she finally returned my $. She made it very hard to have a meeting with her to discuss what she could offer and what we wanted. Food, table cloths, flowers, candles ect. After many attempts to meet her we finally did and she was very pleasant and apologized. The weather forecast was for rain so she said we needed to tent the event. The tent was too small and leaked.Our guest had to stand on chairs to constantly dump the water out of gutters! An additional $5700.00 .When we arrived at the venue 30 minutes before the event her staff had not completed setting up the tables. We paid for hot appetizers to be served but 30 minutes after the party began we had seen no appetizers.I walked into there kitchen and there were stacks of raw chicken. No crab cakes. The color of the table cloths she suggested was not used ,she used battery operated candles and no votives we had picked out, there were no hydrangeas on the tables that we paid for. I could have picked flowers off the side of the interstate and they would have looked better. She emailed my wife the morning of the event to give us a name of the coordinator. This lady knew nothing and couldn't answer a question. This event was in a Upscaled neighborhood and venue on 30a. We read the reviews but thought it would be different for us but it wasn't. We are writing this review so that others will not have to go through the same frustrations and disappointments that we encountered with Grayton Beach Catering and Events Company. We used this company for our daughter's destination wedding in Santa Rosa Beach. GBC was hired to oversee the rehearsal dinner and reception. Four days before the wedding, Cheri decided we needed an additional mic for the rehearsal dinner sound system on the beach - a $600 upcharge. We thought it odd, since she already knew the guest numbers, but we agreed to it, presuming she would use funds from our overpayment for the contract price that had not yet been refunded to us. Instead, she did an ACH draft out of our bank account without our approval. The wedding venue was The Chapel at Seaside. It was gorgeous, weather was spectacular, and all was well...until it was time for the reception. Guests were to exit the church and move into the grove area for refreshments and appetizers, while the wedding party had photos inside the church. Our contract clearly specified that two bar setups and 2 bartenders would be provided, but we only had one setup and one bartender. We paid $650 for a large charcuterie board that was promised to be available before dinner. It was not set up until after dinner had been served so the guests never touched it. We never received an apology or offer of any kind of refund. Likewise, the crabcakes were substituted with chicken-on-a-stick, with no notification or authorization from us. When we sat down to eat, we realized that there were no linen napkins on the tables. The wedding planner grabbed small paper cocktail napkins from the bar and handed out a few to each table - quite embarrassing for such a formal occasion! When brought to Cheri's attention after the event, she laughingly admitted the mistake, saying she couldn't believe that had happened, and threw her wedding planner under the bus, saying she was usually so good about checking the table settings. She again never offered an apology, and then lied about it when we disputed it through our credit card company. The dance floor was another issue--it was supposed to be wood, as stated in our contract, but it turned out to be soft foam squares that didn't stay together. It was far too small for our number of guests and most ended up dancing on the lawn. What a total waste of $800! Furthermore, we were overcharged upfront and faced considerable difficulty getting a refund, even though our total guest count was submitted well in advance of the GBC deadline. The DJ, chosen from Grayton Beach Catering's list of vendors, played the wrong version of the father/daughter dance and ignored the playlist provided by the bride and groom in favor of his own selections. After the event, communication with the company became impossible. They stopped taking our phone calls, forcing us to fight our credit card company to resolve the issue. Fortunately, we managed to get a partial refund, but this was a lengthy and stressful process. Lessons learned: * Never use an ACH draft for payment * Never prepay in full before the event * Read more than the first posted reviews. We've since come across multiple reviews with very similar complaints about GBC, which leads us to believe these issues are part of a recurring pattern and Cheri's way of doing business. Buyer beware: if you're considering Grayton Beach Catering and Events for your special occasion, we strongly advise looking elsewhere. Before sending my inquiry to Grayton I made sure to read the reviews which were mixed. I decided to send the online inquiry for a quote on catering for our wedding. I gave the owner all of of details, the beach house I had chosen, and what food we wanted. I even made sure to include everything that we did not need. Cherri wrote all of it down, or so I thought. She told me that I should have my quote within a day and to keep an eye on my emails. Not once during our conversation did she tell me that our date would not work for them and she hoped I would choose them for all of our wedding needs! Once I received the quote I was pretty excited until I opened it up. They had our wedding date wrong, totally wrong venue, all of the food was wrong, not even close to what we had asked for. All of the additions that we didn't need were added to their quote as well. I emailed them back asking for a more comprehensive quote that better fit what I asked for and to make sure the wedding date was corrected as well. Cherri emailed me back informing me that they would not be able to help us, they are booked. If I could rate them lower I would. I got lies... check in the mail... oh, here it is on my desk... etc. months later I show up and she cuts me a check and hands it to me in a sealed envelope... opened it in car, and it was half of what she owed... went back in and got another check for 1200... such a scammer liar. RED FLAG WARNING My daughter had the worst experience ever with Grayson Beach Catering. Wedding was scheduled in May 2020, but had to be canceled due to state mandates not allowing out of state visitors. i.e. the bride and groom were from out of state and could not attend due to state mandated COVID restrictions. Company would not refund any money no matter the reason. Had to get a lawyer and file a dispute with credit card company to get some of our payment reimbursed. Which, by the way, was charged wrong to begin with. 1. Never Ever Book with a company that demands payment up front. Never ever pay in full before any services are provided. 2. This company will not refund any money so don't let them make you think otherwise. Not good business!!! 3. Most unorganized company. This was absolutely the worst experience imaginable! Please read the full review before booking anything with this company especially your wedding. We were set up for a monthly payment plan for our May 2020 wedding. On three different occasions we were incorrectly charged. In a 5 week period we were charged three separate times. One of those charges was 60% more than it should have been (they admitted to charging us for someone else's monthly payment). On another payment they charged $1000 more than what it was supposed to be and said they would correct it but never did. In fact, they never corrected any of the incorrect charges and we let that go because we still had a balance to pay and the owner agreed to count it towards that. Then COVID hit and we were not able to have our wedding as planned due to the executive order by the Florida governor. We spoke to the owner and she said multiple times we would be getting a full refund. The next communication we had was her lawyer reaching out to us stating they wanted to work out an agreement that was good for both parties. His offer was for us to get 30% of our money back. Months after we were told by the owner "not to worry you will get it" we were not able to get a full refund. Needless to say, with how disorganized the payments were we can't imagine how disorganized our wedding would have been. The staff of Grayton Beach Catering made everyone feel comfortable and welcome throughout the wedding event! Our Day of Coordinator, Jenna, was calm and never felt frantic or overbearing. The food was DELICIOUS and everyone loved the personal attention to detail. The only bumps along the way were some hiccups with the contract and some clarifications, but overall the experience was painless and they made our wedding day full of all the joy we could ask for. The recommendations they made were also excellent; for the DJ - Vlad he kept the party going from start to end AND caught some awesome photos, for the cake, Sweet Henrietta's was AWESOME, for the photos Shelley Swanger was the TERRIFIC, for the Flowers Tim with 1920 & Co. was great and ran with what I was looking for and the execution exceeded expectations! Grayton Beach Catering was absolutely wonderful! The food was phenomenal and so was the service the day off. They are also a full service company and also coordinated the equipment rentals, flowers and cake. They made the entire wedding stress free and perfect. Strongly recommend using them. I have never worked with people so unreasonable and unaccommodating. In September I paid 50% of my deposit for my wedding in may of 2017. Sadly, my wedding was canceled. I informed the company on October 21 and they refused to give me a dime back (we are talking over 3,000 dollars). I gave the company over 7 months notice! And this was a mere few weeks after I had originally paid them. The company had done nothing for me but sent me a few emails and a menu. They have 7 months to fill the date up and Have obviously purchase no food for my event. Canceling my wedding has been heartbreaking and this company made it even worse for me.
