Starting the night we had 3 appetizers - lobster quesadillas, tuna, and mini oyster slider burgers. All 3 had excellent flavor with the quesadillas being my favorite - dripping with flavor, literally best quesadilla I've ever had. After trying all these appetizers I knew the dinner was going to be excellent. Dinner started with bread. Olive bread - my favorite! Next came the salad that came with mixed greens, craisins, pears, and a nice and light vinaigrette that was fantastic. Probably one of the best salads ever. Sorry this seems to be a common trend of the night but such great food. Dinner was served next and it included shrimp and grits, steak with sauce over broccolini, and stuffed squash with vegetables. Favorite had to of been the stuffed squash. Not exactly sure what all was in it but definitely spinach - so amazing! The shrimp and grits were very cheesy and super flavorful (lots o butter!). The steak was thinly sliced and the broccolini underneath was steamed to perfection. I would love to have this company cater my wedding bc it was so incredibly delicious. When I say Chef Jekyll set the bar for private dining, I mean he set the bar not just as a chef, which he certainly did, but also as a host, waiter, clean-up staff...everything. I hired Chef Jekyll as a surprise for my wife's birthday--he worked with me for weeks on the menu (my wife has lots of dietary restrictions) as well as the planning for the actual day. He also helped me keep it a surprise and when serving the actual meal--I mean this, he is the GOLD standard for how this should be done--he was both part of our meal and, at the same time, not. He was charming and present when in the room, but also made sure we felt we had plenty of privacy to enjoy each other's company and the meal (this was not a particularly easy task, given the meal was prepared and served in a 1.5 bedroom airbnb). Finally, he cleaned up everything and left the kitchen better than when he arrived. I would absolutely--no reservations whatsoever--hire him again. He also hosts experiences on his boat--would do that in a heartbeat next time we're in Destin. BOOK CHEF JEKYLL.
