I hold 3 STEM degrees with the first of which being as a Digital Audio and Video Engineer. You would think with that background, I would do my own car audio, but it's a different discipline. I can remix the hell out of your favorite song, edit a video worthy of a Marvel movie and acquire a satellite signal, but I don't have a clue about this area of electronics. For the past decade, my car stereo has sounded terrible. Since CarToys did the original installation 12 years ago, I assumed they would be the perfect choice to restore it to it's original glory. Unfortunately, over the past decade, I have spent between 6-8 hours in each of CarToys locations including Southcenter. Federal Way, Bellevue, Issaquah, Totem Lake and Burlington. With each visit, I was sold more equipment without any improvement in fidelity. Feel free to check my review soon, I will be updating each of those locations with my personal experience. Realizing I needed to step outside of the box, I thought I would try the south sound since everything from between south Seattle and Bellingham had failed me. I called a place in Lacey based on positive reviews. I won't name them, but when I explained my situation, they told me they were busy and couldn't get to me for 4-6 weeks, believing they were the best choice, I agreed, then they revised their position to, We'll only do the work if you purchase product from us. I advised I already had the gear for the job, so I wouldn't be buying anything from them, except labor. At that point, they referred me to two local shops, one in Lakewood and Waves. When I asked which shop they recommended most, they advised the Lakewood shop. When I called Lakewood I got the same attitude. It started with we're busy and it will be a while and when I agreed to the wait they changed their tune to, we'd rather not work with customer supplied equipment. So finally, as an act of desperation, I called Waves. They really didn't want to quote or accept the work without seeing it, but I explained I was in Seattle and didn't want to make a dedicated trip for something I thought was simple. I advised I thought my system was out of phase and if it's not out of phase, I have replacement amps to solve the frequency issue. They agreed to do the work, but were also busy, so it took nearly a month to get in. I made the drive today and met Shop Owner, Jeff. Intelligent, easy to understand straight-shooter, that demonstrated a clear desire to ensure my satisfaction in service. He asked questions, gave updates and also got approvals on his approach. In the end, the issue was exactly as described, the system was out of phase. This is why you use experts. There was a time, I think, when at least the shop manager at CarToys was wise and assuming they blessed all the work that left their shop you could be certain you got what you paid for, but since CarToys restructured those roles to be commission based, that is why their solution is always to sell you something. Here is the deal. There is more profit in labor than product. Rather than selling me marked up merchandise that I don't want or need, provide quality, efficient labor. I couldn't be any happier with Waves and their positive reviews and scores represent the service they provide. Yeah, it was an hour each way from Seattle, but I don't regret it, and any audio needs I have, Waves will be my first call. Everyone there was professional, courteous and pleasant. And at no point, did I believe I made the wrong choice coming in.

I had shopped a few of their competitors before I walked in and they were significantly less than the competition. then it came out that the competition was going right for top tier equipment just because they'd make money. they made a recommendation that would cure my major issues. the rear speakers blew in the car (apparently JBL factory sound has this problem pretty frequently). I replaced them and the sound from them was just painfully bright. I wanted wireless Apple CarPlay as I was considering it a safety feature. in other words, one less reason for a phone to be touched in the car. anyhow, both problems could be solved with a head unit swap. initially, I was pretty unhappy with what I ended up with. the factory microphone was NOT retained, the fader was INOP and the display didn't dim with the headlights. I expressed my displeasure at this and then it came out. the adapter (car interface) was not doing the job it was supposed to do. the "right" module took a call to the manufacturer to find because of the year make and model of the car. once the right parts were found, I returned, dropped the car off and waited to be called. this worked out pretty incredibly. he refunded me for the parts that didn't do the job well and charged me the difference for the better module. no extra labor. so again, I would highly recommend this business. they've been around for at least 10 years that I'm aware of. great service from good people.

From the moment I walked in, the team was super friendly and professional. They installed the cameras beautifully, making sure to hide all the wires and cables, so my car looks neat and tidy. I found the dash cameras to be easy to use and very affordable, especially since I wanted a high-quality product that fits my budget. I also wanted cameras where I could transfer the recorded videos to other computer devices, if need be. Well, a few weeks later (after installing the dash cameras), I was involved in a car accident. After reporting the accident to the police, I contacted Jesse and Jay at Audio Northwest Car Stereo for help with the insurance process (as I feared that the other driver had badly damaged the cameras in my car, and I thought that the cameras did not record the accident, I was wrong.) The cameras did record the entire incident. Jesse and Jay were fantastic! They really went out of their way to guide me through everything! Long story short, once the car insurance companies involved received a copy of my recorded car accident video, immediately the insurance companies worked diligently to resolve all of my concerns quickly. I swear by my dash cameras!!! Highly recommend Audio Northwest Car Stereo at 4708 Pacific Avenue SE, Suite A, in Lacey for all your audio needs! They have always provided me with consistent outstanding customer service and I love their dash cameras! Thank you Jesse and Jay! You guys are the best!

I couldn't do a no star review or even a negative, her are the facts, AVOID THIS PLACE at all…read morecosts. I called first to ask what it costs to install a radio, around $200 bucks cause I had hardware. Drop off car, it could be a little more, okay fine. Pick it up, $498, I was like for what extra, I got the whole dog and pony show, fine I paid. My car initially had the stock stereo with aftermarket speakers, in sounded good, I just wanted an upgraded deck. I bought the stereo from a reputable dealer, used my vin and got all the parts. I get in my car drive away and I kid you not, I've heard factory 80's vehicles stereos sound better. It is a $400 deck, it's sounds like dog shit. I immediately come back and tell him it sounds off and even the subwoofers were not working, he agreed and told me to bring it back cause it's the end of the day. Mind you, I live 35 minutes away. I come back, leave car he calls back and says it's the wrong part, I asked 3 times what part, I got 3 different things. Eventually he lands on the harness, I supplied wrong harness, shouldn't you know that upon install and QC after you finish your job? Shouldn't that have been caught before they installed, and why would you initially deliver the car undone? He told me he'd get the part and make it right, that was aug, it's now the 29th. Oh, along with my subwoofers not working, the satellite radio not working either and crooked deck install. Again, 3 and a half weeks later, today, I pick up my car and he wants to charge me over $100 more, for a job they didn't complete and do right the first time, still blaming me for the wrong part, seriously i thought they were the professionals. By the way, I called customer service on the radio and showed them my parts via pics and invoice#, they said those are the right parts. The company I ordered the stero from was apologetic of the inconvenience, not of their own but what I was going through and gave me a free xm tuner for my deck, that's how you do business, not the way Advanced Automotive services is doing right now. So here is me waiting for the cops they called, to explain why I refuse to pay anymore money for this terrible business, fraudulent service. DO NOT GO HERE! Oh last thing, he refused to give me either statements. Pics of crooked deck install, trash from install, and couldn't even put shift boot back correctly.
