I frequent Grayco and everyone is always so nice and helpful. However, on Saturday, February 27, 2026, the young man behind fishing counter really came through for me. I was in a hurry and needed a reasonably priced fishing pole, and I needed it set up for me. Boy did he come through for me. He showed me the perfect fishing pole for my use and budget, he also attached the sinker and hook and showed me exactly what I needed to purchase, took total 15 minutes and I was on the dock on St. Helena Island casting my line. I wish I would have gotten this young man's name; he was amazing beyond words can say. Now that is customer service! read more

One of the best assorted businesses for home products. Every traditional departments, stocked in depth. Who ever saw a 3,000 sq ft bbq grill department. 90 year old owner is at the door most everyday. Lots of associates. Lots of well staffed stations along the perimeter. I really enjoy and appreciate the convenience of Grayco. It's sort of like an upscale Ace where the employees are incredibly eager to help you. I'll get asked at least three times if I need help and that is much appreciated even if I'm just browsing. Prices are slightly higher than the big box stores, but that's to be expected from a local business. I'll gladly pay more to enjoy my trip vs fighting the crowds. They have a great home deco section as well and neat Carols gear. read more

This was my first time in here; I came in to buy some PVC piping and connectors. My first impression as I walked in was that the store to be very well organized. There was employees positioned all around the store and assigned to different sections to help customers find what they need. The person that helped me, in my opinion, came across little condescending as I was asking what I was looking. (I wasn't using the right terminology I guess). After getting some of what I needed I ended up having to go to Lowe's to get the rest. I had to do this because their selection was a bit limited. They need less people standing at the front door saying Hi.........and more people making sure they have stock. Everytime, except once I go in here, they are out of what I need. Nothing crazy......1" pvc coupling......nope, 3/4" pex 90.........nope......marine varnish..........nope..........1" pvc 90............nope..........blue heat shrink electrical crimps................nope..........it's gotten to the point I just go right past the place. However, the other day I need trailer parts, u bolts, and guide on's I'm thinking, no way so I go look everywhere else first. No one had what I wanted. On a whim, I stop, and they have everything, so go figure. I like the store, just get the people who work there to check inventory once in a while. They have enough employees to make your head spin, make them do a job instead of just hiding in the aisles, hoping no one asks.......where's that? read more

If you are looking for some hardware, something that matches the decor of the low country or a gift for someone, you will find something very nice. The staff is very nice and helpful. I just love coming to this store. It has everything you could possibly need and more. It's been around for years and the personal service you receive is amazing. You're always greeted by at least one salesclerk when you enter. Also every salesclerk you run into in the store always offers to help. Very friendly staff! I could spend all day looking around in this store. They have paint, hardware, tools, patio furniture, indoor furniture, fire pits, grills, plants, knives, clothes, shoes, hats, cookware, kitchen gadgets, christmas decorations, candles, USC and Clemson merchandise, fishing poles, bird feeders, ......the list goes on and on. It has everything you could possibly need and more. The quality of the merchandise is also top of the line. You can be guaranteed that it's all top notch! There's plenty of parking available. I highly recommend you stop and come on in this establishment. You'll find whatever you need here. It's always a fun adventure for me when I go. I never leave empty handed. read more

Grayco is an amazing store that carries many brands and is locally owned and operated. It has something for everyone. The buying experience is easy. Everyone is helpful and doesn't Just stay in their own department. I've found the GM at closing time to help me get a top off of a mannequin. Prices are a little bit higher but knowing I'm in a place that appreciates its customers and puts money back into the local economy is enough for me. This is my favorite store in Beaufort South Carolina. Some places try very hard to replicate the intimate level of service this store provides, but either try too hard or don't put in the elbow grease in. This place oozes Southern charm, class and customer service. I've purchased furniture, gardening equipment, a BBQ grill, paint and decor at this store simply because it has impeccable customer service, and all of the items are high quality. Immediately when you walk-in the owner and multiple associates are waiting to greet you and ask if you need anything. They will personally take care of you from the moment you walk-in, to the moment you leave. This store has fishing apparel, men's soaps and leather handbags, beach diffusers, tackle, high end outdoor furniture and so much moreand all the specialists to explain each area in detail. If I could take one store and replicate it into my own home it would be Grayco! I truly love this place! read more

It's unfortunate that in this difficult time Greyco makes it impossible to check online for products unless you are an existing customer. The web site has been under construction for years. Still not able to register as a customer, and given that most of the materials for my new home came from Greyco, I've already given them thousands of dollars. My crutches became lose so I popped into this store to fix them. A really customer oriented manager fixed me right up with screws and a hex wrench. His name was Marrow and he did more than anyone to help in my decision to move to Beauford. Not many like him who works like he owns the place but he does not. The guy deserves a raise in his passion and his love for what he does. I will come back to always buy. read more

In 15 years I have seen this store go from a small town hardware store to a chic home improvement store. I always take my guests when they come to visit.
