Four years ago I moved to a 35 year old townhouse with a heating and air system of the same age. I knew I would need a reliable company for service so I researched quite a few local companies and got a service contract with TriCityAir. I found the price and discounts with the service contract to be good and when I had a problem I had a very progressional service technician. In July during a heat wave my whole system gave up the ghost and so I called TriCity and they were out in 3 hours to look at the system and gave me an estimate on the spot for a replacement heat pump system. Given the investment I called and got 2 other estimates from companies with a long track record in the area. Why I picked TriCityAir is the following : 1) Although not the least expensive the quote was the most comprehensive and the Sales Person took the time to completely explain it and gave me a couple of options. 2) The system included a 10 year warranty on a Trane Heat Pump system with high efficiency. This was the longest warranty of any quote a received. 3) I was offered a free room air conditioner until the installation could occur which they guaranteed the date for. This saved me $500 for not having to buy one since the daytime temperature was 100 degrees and above 4) I received a discount for being on the service program and a year of free service on the installation. The TriCity air crew was very professional - on time for the two day installation, answered all questions and were very knowledgable and extremely clean. I could tell they have had extensive training for installation of the system and took their time to make sure that the installation was optimized. What i learned - the system is only as good as the installation and if installed improperly the service life is reduced and efficiently is lowered costing more money over time by not meeting the manufacturer specifications. I did not realize how unique each installation is and how important sealing of all ducts is to performance. I feel very comfortable I made a good investment and will be taken care of by TriCity. Finally the follow-up was very well done - my sales person came back to check on my satisfaction and all inspections were done and certified by the city as required.
