    Western omelet, wheat toast, hashbrowns

Excellent service. There was a short wait and our waitress (who was maybe the owner) brought us a cup of coffee while we waited! The food was all very good. Biscuits and gravy, waffles, hashbrowns, scrambled eggs, and bacon was all very good. We are from out of town and we will definitely come here when we come back to Cedar Falls! Very friendly people who know great customer service which is hard to find these days! Also the prices are reasonable.

In the area for work .. yes I do a lot of traveling for work! This is one of the best places we've been to for breakfast. Not pictured was hash browns with cheese that were fantastic. The pancakes were light & fluffy .. the strawberry's were nice & sweet. Definitely give Gravy's a try if you're in the area! You won't regret it!

    Chicken fried steak - delicious!

Unbelievable- a gem of a restaurant. Great food, great service, fair prices. The omelettes, the chicken fried steak and the waffles are all excellent. Family run and a step back in time to when diners were the norm and not the exception. If you've not been here before - don't hesitate to visit. Most highly recommended!

This is my favorite diner in town. The staff is always so friendly, the food is amazing, and the coffee is one of the best I've had in town.

Back in the day, Greenhouse definitely did something different with their chicken. If my memory serves me correctly, they used to have seasoned, cubed chicken pieces, but it seems they have moved to a watery, shredded chicken instead. The other ingredients seemed to be the same, fresh items, but the new chicken was a big disappointment for me. The food here used to consistently hit 9+ out of 10 for me, but during my last visit it was more in the 6-7 range. Giving this spot a 4/5 rating since I'm hoping my last stop in was a fluke. Service and ambiance here is always on point!

The steak was a little dry, but other than that, it was a great meal. I got the Buffalo salad but added steak instead of chicken. The dressing wasn't fresh or homemade-tasting, so that was a bummer. It was a $15 salad, so for the price and convenience, I would come back again. The girl at the counter was welcoming, and since it was my first time, she explained how the menu worked.

The decor did not disappoint on that count! The owner was super sweet and funny, and found a Bigfoot baseball cap for her while promising to get some more swag purchased soon. She had actual breakfast and gave it an A--scrambled eggs, pork sausage, hash browns with cheese (had to get some cheese in there somewhere). I'm not nearly as big a fan of traditional breakfast and I hadn't had my tenderloin fix on this trip yet. Bigfoot Betty's fit the bill. French fries were delicious too and the fresh veggie add-ons. Ain't no tenderloin like an Iowa tenderloin.

However, things quickly went downhill. We were told they were out of funnel cake fries....which, okay, that happens, but then also out of fried pickles? That started to feel a bit questionable. While sitting there, we kept overhearing staff apologizing and saying they were understaffed. I understand that staffing issues happen, but good management should adjust accordingly by limiting capacity, reducing hours, or temporarily closing, rather than letting service suffer this badly. We arrived around 12:50, ordered at 1:00, and didn't get our appetizer until 1:50. Our main food didn't come out until after 2:00. That kind of wait is just not reasonable. To make matters worse, my tenderloin bun was extremely soggy and the food overall was very greasy. If you're going for a tenderloin, you're honestly better off heading to Starbecks, Cindy Lou's, or King Bucks. Great vibe and kind staff, but the long wait times, lack of menu items, and disappointing food quality made for a frustrating experience overall. And let me tell you this..... 2 kids meals, 2 adult meals, and 1 appetizer was $80 DOLLARS BEFORE TIP... I get that things in this world are expensive, but we can go to Sakura Japanese Steak House and get hibachi and sushi and feed the family for about the same cost.
