I got the GF pancakes and asked for them to be cooked in a separate pan, explaining I had celiac / a gluten allergy. They nodded like that was possible but I did still get sick. Great place for a meal! This was my second visit. We went in for a late lunch. We ordered the Bluebird Eggs* Two eggs, hash browns, sour dough toast & pecan smoked bacon, Mac n Cheese, and Big Person Grilled Cheese (provolone and Milton creamery prairie breeze) with ham on sour dough. Unfortunately, we completely forgot to take pictures and dug right into the food. Everything was delicious. Service was great and friendly. The food was hot and yummy! To be honest, I'm a breakfast guy. In my mind, breakfast is hard to screw up! I'll be 70 on my next birthday, so I'm a tad bit of a traditionalist. I like my bacon hickory smoked and my sausage lightly spiced. Blue Birds chefs, in searching for culinary distinction, have altered the spice choices in both their bacon and sausage and I'm sure they have created a legion of fans. I , however, am not one of them. My wife, girls and their families are big fans of the BBC, so I acquiesce to their choices and frequent the Solon location when they visit. Then I discovered the Hemingway Eggs Benedict...WOW! Its your normal Eggs Benny, but with smoked salmon instead of Canadian bacon. The eggs were poached perfection, the hollandaise was creamy buttery goodness and the pile of hashbrowns were a crispy addition to a great breakfast plate. I now can join the kids whenever we have a breakfast urge...BTW the staff is always friendly and attentive, much appreciated! read more

Coffee was ok. I wish it was stronger. However the gravy in the biscuit and gravy is fantastic. Best I've had. Put it on everything.

Last time we were there the food was cold when we got it! Service was horrible! They tried warming our food in Microwave after we said it was cold. The eggs turned to rubber and my biscuits and gravy became pasty the steak and eggs was not good after being microwaved. My grandsons fruit was delicious but his food wasn't very good read more

I started with the crab cakes and they were fantastic. The remoulade and relish complimented these cakes perfectly. The meatloaf was great. The vegetables were well cooked and the dish filled me up. There were a lot of items I wanted to try and will have to come back. This was definately a surprise find in Solon, Iowa.
