Odie's Bar & Grill is an awesome find just outside Cedar Rapids. The place is spacious, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and a fun touch--popcorn at every table. I ordered the Odie's Griller with pasta salad, and my lady had the Ragin Cajun with coleslaw. The sides were just okay, but the sandwiches were amazing, with the Ragin Cajun stealing the show. Both came with their house mayonnaise, which was so good I never thought I'd be complimenting mayo in a review. Service was fantastic--friendly and attentive--and while it was slow during our visit, you can tell this place can get busy. Between the great atmosphere, outstanding sandwiches, and that unforgettable mayo, I'll happily go out of my way to stop at Odie's whenever I'm near the Cedar Rapids airport. read more

Some of the best fish I've ever had. Most of the time I would have something pretty cruel to say about places like these but not this one. The service was probably my favorite part above all of this. The service of these workers made me remember of my grandmas house, while she used to beat me with a ping pong paddle. The food was a lot. The fries were as thick as my massive dookie I left in the bathroom, while the walleye was as crispy as my toes when I get back from the beach. Overall this was a four star experience. read more

Both of our main items were crispy but yet juicy on the inside! We drove 52 mins just eat!! I had been craving walleye n they provided me with just that. The sweet potato's could've been cooked just little bit longer but i like my fries crispy!! The slaw was much sweeter than normal but I liked it, it well went with the entire dinner. 21 of us stopped on a Saturday in June! The place was hopping with another big group of trail riders! The waitstaff was awesome - - different people kept track of your orders. Your food came quickly, and the bills were correct. Several of us had the turkey club and it was great! The fries were pretty standard fries. My hubby had an Odie burger and he enjoyed it. A chicken wrap was said to be very good too. We were sitting outside and had a very nice time there. The beer selection was great as well. When: Tuesday evening around 6 and Friday 5pm Restaurant: friendly staff, awesome outdoor space Thank you Odie's for accommodating our crazy group! We had 5 adults, 3 crazy kids, 1 baby and a puppy. We just moved to the area like a few days before family came into town to visit. I had zero idea where to go. It was perfect. The kids got to run and play while the adults sat and visited. When we finished our meals we hung out in the "yard" and played corn hole and other games they had out. Everyone enjoyed their meals! Even the picky 11 year old. We have already been back after our initial visit with the family and I can tell you their burgers are delicious. I've gotten the mushroom Swiss both times and I get a side of their home made blue cheese dressing to top it with. Awesome. This last time my husband got the prime rib special (it is a Friday special) and it was fantastic. If you are a ranch lover they make their own and I have a very hard time not licking the dip cup clean. Oh and their chicken strips, totally worth ordering. read more

Our first time at Odie's did not disappoint. I ordered the pork tenderloin sandwich and it was everything I wanted-crispy without being tough or over-breaded. The bun stood up and didn't fall apart. My husband had the fried cod. It was delicious and came with onion rings and coleslaw. Service was quick and very friendly. The happy hour beers and free popcorn were a nice bonus. read more

We came to town for a basketball tournament and found this local gem, in downtown Ely! I ordered the wings, extra crispy, and they came just how I like them! I tried the Asian Zing and the Garlic Jalapeño sauces. Both sauces were good, but the Garlic Jalapeño was medium spicy, and really good! Son ordered the strip basket, and said it was good. Husband ordered the broasted Chicken meal, and enjoyed it also. Service was very good, personable, and he was taking care of all patrons in a timely manner. Had not been to Odies since before the Pandemic. This place has really stepped up its game! It was the perfect bar to ride to on a chilly spring day. They have a stylish remodel complete with out door fire places to keep warm by and a garage door patio to bring the outside in. The bartenders and waitresses were some of the most engaging ones I have experienced in a long time.They were friendly, attentive and charismatic. The out door fire places were so nice that we ended up there for a second night on a bike ride huddle up around it with friend and good conversation. We order appetizers and the food was very good. It has a bar food menu with burgers fries and tenderloins. I can not say enough about how nice the remodel and how great our customer experience was there! Keep up the good work! read more

Second trip to Odie's. Saturday night special is AUCE Broasted Chicken for $7.99 with purchase of a drink - $2.29 - but it's a very large drink. Chicken is freshly prepared, and because it's a special it comes out quickly. We ordered white meat only, and there was no problem getting that to order. Chicken was very juicy, the coating could have used a little bit more flavoring, but it was good nonetheless. read more

This was our halfway point in a grueling (for us, at least) 30 mile bike ride last weekend. No one in our biking party had ever been there, but we were all pleasantly surprised. They make everything to order, so it is a little slower than you might be used to, but is worth it. And it was worth every minute to rest my sore rear end. I had the Corona Cod wrap and it was delicious. I think they might make their potato chips there. They definitely tasted homemade. Other tasty plates were the breaded tenderloin, the cajun chicken sandwich with coleslaw (GOOOOOD coleslaw), and the Reuben. All very very good and very surprising for this small bar in this very small town. Service was great - very friendly and helpful. A couple rounds of tomato beer and a large pitcher of water, we were ready to tackle the rest of the ride. read more

The pizza at Odie's is always great. In fact, I crave the BBQ chicken pineapple pizza! The service is what moved me to write a review. Our server remembered us and remembered the last time we were in they were short staffed resulting in a slower wait time for food. She apologized again and again about our previous experience and thanked us for giving them another shot. Then the owner came from the kitchen to introduce himself and also apologize for our previous experience. They went above and beyond to make up for the (very minor in our eyes) inconvenience from before and made us feel like we were really special patrons. read more
