Tenderloin sandwich with sweet potatoe fries
    Jeremiah T.

Both of our main items were crispy but yet juicy on the inside! We drove 52 mins just eat!! I had been craving walleye n they provided me with just that. The sweet potato's could've been cooked just little bit longer but i like my fries crispy!! The slaw was much sweeter than normal but I liked it, it well went with the entire dinner. The wife had a Busch latte and I had the pineapple draft i don't remember the name now.( local beer I believe) very tasty.

    Turkey club--yummy!!

21 of us stopped on a Saturday in June! The place was hopping with another big group of trail riders! The waitstaff was awesome - - different people kept track of your orders. Your food came quickly, and the bills were correct. Several of us had the turkey club and it was great! The fries were pretty standard fries. My hubby had an Odie burger and he enjoyed it. A chicken wrap was said to be very good too. We were sitting outside and had a very nice time there. The beer selection was great as well. Friends from out of state split the huge tenderloin and really enjoyed it! They said it was good. It's a great 10 mile ride from the Czech village in Cedar Rapids

    Pork tenderloin sandwich

Our first time at Odie's did not disappoint. I ordered the pork tenderloin sandwich and it was everything I wanted-crispy without being tough or over-breaded. The bun stood up and didn't fall apart. My husband had the fried cod. It was delicious and came with onion rings and coleslaw. Service was quick and very friendly. The happy hour beers and free popcorn were a nice bonus.

We came to town for a basketball tournament and found this local gem, in downtown Ely! I ordered the wings, extra crispy, and they came just how I like them! I tried the Asian Zing and the Garlic Jalapeño sauces. Both sauces were good, but the Garlic Jalapeño was medium spicy, and really good! Son ordered the strip basket, and said it was good. Husband ordered the broasted Chicken meal, and enjoyed it also. Service was very good, personable, and he was taking care of all patrons in a timely manner. I would recommend and return again next time in town.

Good food and fast service but restrooms need attention. Price for fountain drinks expensive.

Food is good and the waitresses are friendly and helpful. Their Thursday night all you can eat shrimp deal is the best!

Best pork tenderloin ever, very good. It was kind of dead the night I was there, but everything else was good.

Great sit down bar with very friendly staff. Food is great and exactly what you feel like after a bike or snowmobile ride down the trails.

It's been a long time since I had a real Iowa pork tenderloin, and on my brief trip here I knew…read morethat I had to get one. Normally I'd go to Joensy's, but my folks recommended this place which is only a few minutes away from where they live. I called in my takeout order, which was taken by a cheerful woman on the other end. When I walked into the restaurant/bar, it was bustling with a convivial atmosphere. Every table was filled and patrons sat shoulder-to-shoulder at the bar. I suspect that there are a lot of regulars here, and I drew some curious glances as it was clear that I wasn't a familiar face. The woman at the bar saw me as I came in and figured out that I was there for the food, and she beckoned me over with a smile. I assume that she was one of the proprietors, and she was friendly and welcoming, especially when she learned that I was from out of town. After a very pleasant chat, I left to enjoy our meal at home. The only thing I can really comment on is, of course, the pork tenderloin. As should be the case, it was enormous and dwarfed its oversized bun. The fresh greens and tomatoes were packaged in Saran wrap, which was a smart move because otherwise they would made everything soggy. The tenderloin was hot and crispy on the outside but tender and moist in the middle. One of them was thicker and slightly smaller in diameter than the others, and this one turned out to be the best of the lot because it was particularly juicy. Someday it would be nice to come back and have a meal in this real old-school tavern. It's probably a good idea that I didn't during these Covid times, since I do work in a hospital and would have been sad if I were an asymptomatic carrier that transmitted the illness to an unsuspecting crowd.

That did not work so we went to the bar to get service (for 3 drinks) Then we had to go to the bar to get our tab. We will never go back Shuey's
