If you like vinaigrettes or olive oils or adding a little pizzazz to your food, then this is a must stop for you. As for me, I can eat a loaf of bread with some oil & balsamic. . . However this place has so many options that it gives you the freedom to let your imagination go wild on how to take it up a notch. And to make it even sweeter, they allow you to sample before buying and that is the way to my heart because it allows me to taste things I may not have chosen before trying. I asked the lady how would one use some of the vinegars and she just started listing ways to use each of the different flavors from meat tenderizer to glazes to salads. I wouldn't have thought that coconut mango would be something I would buy but I can't wait to make a summer salad and drizzle this on it. Another lady suggested I mix the peach vinaigrette with the blood orange oil to which I initially turned my nose up but once I tried it I was like "oh, that's a nice flavor together!" When I left I even told them that my experience was better than I initially anticipated and that I can't wait to bring a friend back to try with her. They also sell dispensers and other dishes so you can put together a nice gift basket for someone. So if you find yourself wandering down Main Street, it's worth stopping in for.

I've been buying my balsamic vinegars and olive oil here for years. My daughter is getting married and they created the most adorable bridal shower favors for the event. Two 6oz bottles, one olive oil and one balsamic with a personalized label in a black burlap bag. They came out fabulous. Rebecca was wonderful to work with. I can highly recommend them!

Had come here two years ago when a relative was in town and vowed to come back... so glad I did! The shop owner is very sweet and had lots of good recommendations... you can try any oil or balsamic you'd like, and they are all super delicious! I personally loved the fruity balsamics and the Garlic and Rosemary Olive Oils. A very cool experience in a fun part of town. Great for when the in laws in town and are looking for something wine-adjacent to do Looking forward to coming back and getting the discount for reusing your bottle!

They have a great variety and selection of olive oils as well as other items. You can try the oils prior to purchasing. Their prices are fair, the store is fun to shop in too.

    Faulty seal

Check the seals! Olive oil is good. Like the fact that you can sample. We bought several bottles along with our out of town guests. Unfortunately, there were a few that the seals were faulty. Luckily it was in our pantry and still in the bag when it tipped. Our guests, not so much. It was in their suitcase when it leaked. Anyway, we happened to be in Grapevine for an event this past Saturday and stopped in to tell them what happened two weeks prior. Not only did they not offer any compensation for the faulty seals when we showed them photos, but they were condescending and borderline rude. Wasn't looking for much, maybe a discount off another bottle? It's pretty expensive oil to lose the entire bottle.

    This makes me happy!

Wow this little gem is superb!!! We usually go to the farmers market (on market days) to get olive oils and vinegars, but stumbled across this place over the holidays. Best thing about it is you get to sample before you buy! Their oils and vinegars are fresh, crisp and heavenly! We purchased a combination of 6! We live locally so YOU BET we will be returning!! (Oh and you can even clean your bottles once finished, take them back in for a credit) Check this place out if you purchase oils for yourself. They also make great gifts!!

Two words. Garlic Explosion. Come up in this place and taste test that flavor and tell me that is not the nectar of the Gods. You can taste test all these flavors... I could stay in here all day trying to figure out what works best with what recipes. My family loves to cook and if you do as well you'll really enjoy this place. They have different size bottles to buy I think are reasonably priced. I bought the Garlic Explosion and I've been using it for everything. Usually, I will find an oil that compliments the recipe I am working with but recently I have been looking for recipes that compliment their oil. That's how good it is. My wife bought some of their vinegars and she is excited to use them. This place is great with helpful, polite, knowledgeable staff. Coming back once this bottle of Garlic Explosion is done to get a bigger bottle.

If you are looking for a charming, "no-frills" spot for classic Italian-American comfort food, this is a very dependable option. The absolute highlight of our visit was the staff. The people here couldn't have been nicer! They were welcoming and extremely accommodating, especially when it came to customizing my order. Food: * House Salads: We started with the house salads featuring their homemade tomato vinaigrette. It was unique--it tasted like they might incorporate some of their tomato sauce into the dressing base. It was okay, though perhaps an acquired taste if you prefer a sharper vinaigrette. * Eggplant Parm & Custom Pasta: I ordered the Eggplant Parm and asked to swap the side pasta for angel hair with vodka sauce. They were happy to do it for a small upcharge. The eggplant itself was quite good! My only critique is that the sauce was very chunky (I like a smoother sauce) and the portion of it was a bit overwhelming, but that might just be a personal preference. * Fettuccine Alfredo: My husband went with the classic Alfredo. He described it as a "solid 7/10"--nothing was wrong with it at all, just a standard, reliable version of the dish that satisfied the craving. Final Thoughts Cafe Italia is a sweet little place that is a decent option if you're hungry for the classics and want to be treated like family. We're glad we finally checked it off our list!

We showed up about 30 minutes ahead of our reservation, so we had a drink at the bar (I ordered the martini - it was great). They seated us less than 10 minutes after we arrived. We ordered arancini and the house salad and split both and then for our meals, I ordered the barolo shrimp pasta and my husband got the cacio e pepe. Both dishes were fantastic. My pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was velvety and full of flavor. The shrimp was also cooked perfectly. The arancini were also delicious. Only minor suggestion would be to include a little more marinara or some type of sauce to dip the arancini in but it was still really good. Our server was very good and the restaurant itself has a cozy vibe without your table being on top of the one next to you. Side note: the bar is huge and probably seats about 20 people. It seemed like a good percentage of the people at the bar maybe live in the neighborhood which is cool. We'll definitely be back!

I ordered the cacio e pepe off the specials board and added a house salad. If you do not know what cacio e pepe is, it is a dish with a few ingredients (pasta, cheese, black pepper, cream sauce). You can add protein to it, but it is pretty basic comfort food. Although it looks simple to prepare, I have eaten it in several DFW restaurants where it is atrocious. There is a fine line between delicious and paste with these ingredients, and it needs balance. The service was great. The food came quickly but I was not rushed to eat. The salad was fine - basic, fresh, and the balsamic dressing was not runny. When the cacio e pepe came out, it looked and smelled phenomenal. There was bread included, but I ignored it (which is not the norm for me). After the first bite, I was sold. This dish was freaking fantastic. The chef stopped and brought me fresh herbs from the plants out front (which were delicious). The dish was amazing on its own, and the herbs elevated it to another level of fantastic. It would have been inappropriate to lick the plate, but I did consider it (because the food was perfect). The food was phenomenal, the service was solid, and I will return repeatedly for this one dish. I am sure the other options are great, but this dish was a piece of heaven on a plate.

So we went today. Stella is a very attractive, very welcoming trattoria. Very cool open kitchen bar along one side. Prompt, attentive service and lovely cloth napkins at lunch. As for the octopus carpaccio? Wowzer! Buonissimo! Stella's rendering of the dish is beautiful and delicious. It is topped with savory, mild pink peppercorns; peppery arugula and EVOO. This super thinly sliced, tender, melt in your mouth polipo is just so good. We followed that with the beet salad. The organic red and gold beets are a feast for the eyes. They are likewise super thinly sliced, topped with dollops of creamy goat cheese, finely minced pistachios and EVOO. A show-stopper presentation and again absolutely delicious. These shared dishes were accompanied by a bottle of crisp Italian Pinot Grigio making for a perfect light Friday luncheon. I'm seeing frequent lunch visits to Stella in our future.
