The docents the day we were there were dressed in pioneer clothes and were so friendly and informative telling us about the Nash family and the history of the farmstead and about the animals. They have lots of events from the looks of it. I highly recommend a stop here if your in Grapevine.

Our first impression was wow! The present neighborhood built around a farm that's been in Grapevine since the 1850's. And the farmer was there tending to the garden when we arrived. The house was open for unguided tours of the upstairs and downstairs. After touring the house we met the farmer. My granddaughter got a chance to talk to the farmer and go with him to pet the sheep. We also went to the Farm store on the property and my daughter bought chicken feed. My granddaughter fed the chickens and that was adorable to catch on video. If you're a history buff or if you enjoy museums Nashville Farm is definitely worth a visit. They accept donations but admission is free.

We ended up getting one fig tree and one plum tree. the people working there are very helpful and actually helped me save money. i was going to ask them to delivery and plant it at my house, but they told me that since the fruit trees i was buying were on the smaller side, i would simply just put it into my suv and save on the delivery fee. while planting was a pain in the ass, it didn't take too long to plant the two trees. They also recommended that i get some root growth liquid chemicals to help the trees grow. they typically have sales going on. For the fruit trees, it was buy one get another one 40% off. i'm not sure if other nurseries are offering sales, but it was a nice offer Mike was doing. Granted, i don't normally buy trees, i'm not sure if i overpaid for the fruit frees. I think the fig tree was 30 bucks and the plum tree for 40 bucks. Mike garden has a decent selection. they have items that are in the greenhouse along with a lot of other items outside. they also sell garden decorations as well.

Buyer beware. Native Gardeners sold me multiple separate, tiny trees crammed together in 5-gallon…read morepots and represented them as single, multi-trunked trees. This happened twice--once with a Texas Mountain Laurel and once with a Texas Kidneywood. When confronted, they hid behind the botanical excuse that these are multi-trunked species. To be clear, what they actually sent me were entirely separate individual plants with independent root systems tangled together. Over time, independent root systems crammed into a tight space are guaranteed to compress, compete, and strangle each other out. Even if this is disputed, the site clearly represented the product as a single plant. I called them the day after the first order arrived, (the day the second arrived), to report the issue and was promised a callback. While waiting, I gently teased the root balls apart and carefully potted the separate seedlings individually to try and save them. The callback never came. The Mountain Laurels eventually died from the stress of being repotted. When I followed up, customer service told me they didn't believe me, blamed me for separating the tangled root balls, and refused a refund because I didn't provide pictures within 24 hours of arrival. I did eventually find that policy buried deep in their website, but I don't remember seeing it on the papers in the box as they represented it to be, (I actually dug a card out of the trash), and here's the kicker: they never mentioned that on my initial phone call. You'd think that would be important. (Unless they were waiting for their own ridiculously short recourse period to expire.) If there's a problem and you didn't photograph it within 24 hours: You're lying; no there wasn't. The individual I talked to essentially dared me to write a bad review. Personally, I hate seeing people act like they are unaccountable once they have your money. It might be a decent place to get native plants, and your experience might be very different as long as nothing goes wrong, but IMO, they don't deserve your business, and you can do much better. For instance, try EcoBlossom (ecoblossom.com). They are local, sell amazing natives, and as far as I know, aren't arrogant enough to think they can shaft the odd customer now and then. Best of luck if you do though; definitely "bring receipts". May the odds be ever in your favor.

I reached out to Blooming Colors Nursery about a backyard project that would include a pool,…read moreoutdoor kitchen, landscaping, and additional trees and greenery. Unfortunately, my experience with their customer service was disappointing. I asked reasonable questions about their $2,500 design fee, their experience with Desjoyaux pools, installation qualifications, warranties, and long-term maintenance. Since I was unfamiliar with the Desjoyaux system, I wanted to understand exactly what I would be investing in before committing to a design fee. The communication became confusing when I was initially told that Blooming Colors was not a pool company, but later told that they were. I asked for clarification because I wanted to understand whether they built the pool themselves or used a separate contractor. I was also trying to determine who would service and repair the pool in the future. Rather than simply clarifying the misunderstanding and answering my questions, the owner indicated that we might not be the right fit for their company. I explained that I had not intended to be disrespectful, apologized for the misunderstanding, reiterated our interest in having them design and build our entire outdoor living space, and offered a date for an in-person consultation. They ultimately declined to work with us. I understand that a comprehensive design-build firm may charge a premium for its services, and I have no issue with a company setting its own fees or choosing its projects. However, I believe prospective customers should be able to ask questions about pricing, qualifications, warranties, and the services being provided without feeling that they are being difficult. For a project representing a significant financial investment, clear communication, patience, and professionalism from the very beginning are important to me. Unfortunately, this interaction left me with little confidence in what the customer experience would be like if questions or concerns arose during construction. Based on my experience, I would encourage prospective clients to ask your questions and to make sure the company's approach and communication style are a good fit before committing to its design process.
