The Pitt Stop Deli is a small convenience store with a full cold and hot hoagie station serving up all kinds of tasty options. I chatted with Skip, the owner, who mentioned they now accept EBT cards for items like bread, cereal, and milk. Today, I'm heading to the hot side of the grill for a meatball hoagie. Off camera, I asked if the meatballs were homemade, and he explained they come from another establishment--so yes, they're homemade, just not here. This was your classic meatball sub: toasted bun, melted mozzarella, and packed with flavorful, piping-hot meatballs. Even though it's a store, they have a spot where you can sit and enjoy your breakfast, lunch, or dinner if you'd rather eat in than take out. They're open seven days a week until at least 9 PM, so there's no excuse not to stop by and give them a try. Until next time, be blessed and stay safe. However, yesterday was the third time in a year the pasteries have been really bad! This time we only got 4 items because of the last 2 bad experiences, and this one has to be the worst. Didn't taste a bit like pistachio either. The horn was hard. I'm thinking maybe it was leftover from St.Paddy's day and that's why the odd coloring and stale taste. We got a french creme horn too, and the horn itself wasn't stale, but the inner cream was too sweet and not fluffy. It looked like it was over whipped and started to separate. The mousse we got had a chocolate coated top that was gritty... It just wasn't a good experience. 3 strikes, won't be trying it anymore. Really sad because that place used to be great.

Tonight the owner of this pizza shop laid hands on a female customer and refused her business. After I was refused business as well and told that the pizza shop doesn't sell slices of pizza after a certain time (that was not advertised anywhere for their customers). Anyone who visits Granteed's Pizza will understand why I would rather order from a dumpster than talk to that the trash that is their employees. If you would like poor customer service and terrible pizza, please visit Granteed's pizza shop. Ps. Not student friendly. read more

Sauce: 9.9/10 Dough/crust: 7.9/10…read moreOverall: 9.1/10 Just had a slice of buffalo chicken pizza from here at the Italian Festival in Scranton. In all of my 32 years, this was literally the best buffalo chicken pizza I've EVER eaten! I actually wiped off some of the sauce to begin, fearing that it would be the stereotypical salty, vinegar-forward buffalo sauce. I regretted my decision: It was an ever-so-pleasant, slightly sweet, based, mild buffalo sauce. The pizza actually has thin slices of breaded chicken as a topping. I've never found a buff chic pizza that had chunks of baked, well-seasoned, thinly-sliced, breaded chicken tenders on top. It reminds me of what you'd find at a place like Ninas on their breaded hot wing hoagie; with a very similar sauce profile. This wouldn't be a true pizza review if I didn't note any critiques. The Dough was definitely homemade but it was slightly under done for my liking *I do understand they were pumping out hundreds to trays during the festival. The only aspect of this keeping it from being a 9.5+ slice was a little char on the undercarriage. A little color mixed with the breaded chicken and phenomenal sauce would take both the pizza's overall rating and its aesthetic/presentation to the next level! Well done Electric City Pizza! I scarfed it down so quick, I didn't get a chance to take a photo

With that said this still should've been a five star experience if not for a couple tiny hiccups. First off, I started off drinking at their bar and bottle shop across the parking lot. In fact, I was going to get a pizza over there, except I wanted to be all healthy and get a salad as well, which was not offered on the limited, pizza and snacks only menu available at the bottle shop. I closed my tab and walked across the parking lot only find a very interesting set up of a to go area very much separated from a sit down only restaurant. Quickly figured out I need to be in the to go area, where I was able to get a draft beer while I waited for my pizza and salad to go. Luckily I asked for a min to settle my tab as I wanted a can to take with me, at which point I found out about the cash only aspect. Last part of slight disappointment resided in the fact that they let me sit there with an empty glass without telling me my pizza was ready, until I finally went to the counter and they asked if I was ready to go. Uh yeah I was actually. By the time I go back to the hotel 14 minutes away, the pizza had gotten cold and required reheating. Fortunately, it was good enough that even with the reheat, revealed itself to be one hell of a pizza. Subtract another fraction of a point for not putting any plastic silverware for my salad. By the way, salad was fine, but pizza slaps.
