Nothing much to see but good for trail I guess. It's a long distance to get but not photogenic or good views.

This was the first year we attended the Fireman's BBQ. It's a fund raiser by buying raffle tickets…read morehaving the money go to June Lake Fire Department. The big prize is a boat and trailer. They had so many prizes, $1.00 per ticket. You didn't win just one prize, you could win four or more depending on the worth of them. It was a great turn out. The food was outstanding. BBQ brisket, potato salad, beans and two rolls. The kids had a great time with two playgrounds, and a bounce house. We will definitely be back next year. We got there at 12:30 and it was pretty crowded then. The time is from 12:00-4:00. Parking is difficult, you may end up walking a bit, it's worth going.

Either way this spot will be another place to throw all your worries to the side and enjoy the great outdoors. Spectacular views just like most lakes in the area. If your plans are to stop here you won't be disappointed!

Gull Lake - I saw these two young boys by the water. It looked so pretty. Great location, the BBQ is at the playground across from the thrift shop.

Gull Lake - Lots of people came, besides the raffle, and eating they had numerous egg toss games for the adults and kids, it was pretty funny.

It's hard to miss in the Eastern Sierra when it comes to camping, especially north of Lake Crowley…read more The June Loop has several places to camp, hike, or just relax, all with beautiful views, trees, and access to some legendary trout waters. Gull is one of the smaller lakes in the area, with plenty of fishing opportunities like her larger cousins June, Crowley, and Convict, to name a few of the hundreds. Camping is first-come, first served... and despite the signs telling you to "wait for the host," I suggest going and knocking on their camper door so someone doesn't steal it out from under you. Some of the lake is circled by cattail reeds, so shire access is perhaps more limited at times. However, Gill doesn't feature the summer annoyances of waterskiing and weekend jet-boaters like larger June does. Winter freeze hits this area hard, and the trout season ends at the latest in November up here. April is still mighty cold when it reopens... but plenty of great opportunities up here Spring through Fall.

But then they would probably never be available because all the old farts with RVs would hog them up!! :-\ Anyway, bathrooms are flush style, clean and serviced regularly. However there are no showers. We took a short drive up to Silver Lake Campground and showered there. Seems like everyone here fishes the lakes so they must go to bed early because it was so quiet! We'll be back!
