GOD BLESS AMERICA...and this sandwich!! Never have I ever had a better sub in my life. The bread,…read morethe meats, the toppings; everything tasted like the best of the best! Walking through the front door is like walking through a secret portal to Italy (I'm not kidding). The smells and sights of fresh meat hanging from the ceiling is what I imagine heaven to be like! I ordered the Italian sub. First of all, it is HUGE in both length and circumference. One sub can easily be split between two people. The bread-to-meat ratio is perfect. I could taste each individual ingredient with every bite, which is a unique experience that only happens when everything is fresh and flavorful as can be. I think this place just ruined subs for me because no other will come close to being THIS good. If I were on death row, this sandwich would be part of my last meal. I feel like I cannot adequately put into words just how amazing it is. Do yourself a favor and check this place out sooner than later! :)

I came for the much heralded Italian sandwich and it did not disappoint…read more Small, 2-room shop on Salem Street, right next to Bova's Bakery, good for Italian provisions and artful Italian sandwiches. As the name "Mercato" implies, it's not a restaurant, so no place to eat, no place to "do your business" after, and if you've made it to the north end, you already know there's no place to park. -- Italian Sandwich: Long, soft bread, kinda like the kind you had in your school cafeteria, only a million times softer, a million times more crackly, and a million times better. Setting the base are oil, balsamic vinegar, lettuce, tomato, pickles, hots, and provolone. Italian sandwiches usually come flat-stacked or in a C-shape. Here, it's a fluffy stack, with the VERY-thin-sliced-to-order meats-- prosciutto, mortadella, salami-- piled generously but delicately, like tissue paper. More oil and balsamic on the other side seals the deal. It's a glorious sandwich that'll fill you up with the first half, but you'll want to keep eating the second half, because it's so good. The deep flavors of the meats comes through, and that's soft, crunchy bread is a delight. Pro tip #1: Get it with a small side of pesto. Have some bites with, some bites without. Pro tip #2 (in more ways than one): Plan your restroom visit at the nearby Boston Public Market. Pro tip #3: Plan your eating near the Paul Revere statue on Hanover Street, at the basketball court down Stillman Street, or on the Greenway down Hanover Street.

They have their own names for their sandwiches like La Donna is their version of prosciutto and mozzarella sandwich and Italiano is their Italian sandwich. I love their La Donna and Italiano sandwiches, and my wife likes their Real Italian Chunky Tuna sandwich because they do not use Mayo in their tuna sandwich. They make the best Italian sandwich that I have ever had. I've tried prosciutto and mozzarella sandwiches from different restaurants in the North End and Salumeria Italiana uses the best quality ingredients and taste the best. People will say that the other restaurants makes a much bigger prosciutto and mozzarella sandwich for only a few dollars more, but the other restaurants don't taste as good. Go to Salumeria Italiana if you are going for quality food, and go to the other restaurants if you just want to have a sandwich that can last you 2 meals.

Everything is incredibly reasonably priced, especially for the quality. I ordered the Italiano, and it was only $11 and packed with fresh ingredients and full of flavor. I was surprised there wasn't a line when we stopped by around 3:30 p.m. on a Saturday, which made it even better. If you're in the area and craving a great Italian sandwich, this spot is absolutely worth a visit. I'll definitely be back!

Korean Momma has set the bar very high. The cheesecakes are great for parties and entertaining, but sometimes I keep an eye out for a fun flavor and just get it to try. Nothing beats the OG burnt flavor though, which has just the perfect touch of saltiness to complement the tangy cheese flavor and balance out the sweetness of the cake. I also love the graham cracker crust which gets so caramelized, crispy, and almost a little smoky. For gluten free friends out there, you can also get the cheesecakes without the crust. I'm so happy that they've now partnered with Darling which serves their gluten free cheesecake on their menu, but it's always worth signing up for one of the weekend drops to chat with Duly and his whole team.

When we picked up the cheesecake, we also received a sample of the mango lassi cheesecake. The mango lassi cheesecake set the bar high. It was delicious, not too sweet but rich and creamy. The mango lassi flavor was also spot on - 5 stars. Unfortunately the basque cheesecake we had was not as good. There were parts of the cheesecake that was quite salty, not sure if this was intentional? We did enjoy the parts of the cheesecake that was not salty tho! Perhaps we got a bad batch. I would try other flavors in the future since the sample one we had was soo good, but I would skip the OG basque cheesecake.
