Overall we are happy with the work they did, but we won't be hiring them to refinish the first floor of our home. While they did a couple of things that we really appreciated, they also cut a few corners in our opinion. Cons: They hand scraped some areas after sanding, but did not sand the hand-scraped areas afterward so they are very rough when walking on them. Also, there are many areas where the paint was not fully removed. Because of their work schedule, once they started the job we did not see it until it was finished (ie we did not have an opportunity to look everything over after they sanded/before they applied poly and the floors were wet, even though someone was home at the time). If they had told us that there were areas where the paint was difficult to remove, we would have worked on it with a heat gun in the evening after they were gone because we really wanted all the paint gone. Pros: First, we had a closet transition that had a lot of damage, and they cut down the original piece of wood so that it would match. It looks good, much better than a new piece of wood would look. Second, at the time of the estimate he let me know that our stairs were likely poplar, a wood that looks green when it is unstained and finished with poly. One of us stayed home for the first couple of days of the job so that we could look at the stairs after they sanded them, and they were green like he said. They provided a number of stain colors so we could pick out which one we liked, and then they applied the stain to the stair treads. However, this one also involved a cut corner because they did not stain the top tread at the landing and had to re-do it afterward. It doesn't look the same as the others.

Within a day of contacting Dustin, he responded back to my inquiry and within a week he had visited my home and provided me a quote. I hired Dustin to refinish existing hardwood (3 rooms) and also to install new hardwood (1 room).
