It's been about 4 months since I brought home my girl, she has been a delight ever since. She's very social and curious, she's also very well adjusted to having my cats around. Our vet was very impressed by her, she was out and about and didn't even ball up for them. They were happy with my knowledge of her which came from granite state hedgehogs and said she looked extremely healthy. They were also impressed by their lifetime wobbly hedgehog guarantee. I'd get another hedgehog from them in a heartbeat. read more

I boarded my hedgehog with Granite State for two weeks, and when I came back, they gave me a different animal. I have tried many times to figure out what happened, but have gotten nowhere, and now they refuse to respond to me. I cannot recommend Granite State to anyone. I boarded my 3-year-old hedgehog for two weeks back in March. When I went to pick her up, they gave me back what appeared to be a completely different hedgehog: 1. She was drastically larger. She gained nearly 50% of her body weight. 2. She had darker ears and new markings on her forehead. 3. She had a permanent scar that disappeared. 4. She had a completely different disposition- our hedgehog was extremely friendly and happy before. Obviously, I was incredibly concerned. Granite State insisted that she just ate a lot. My vet confirmed that those sorts of changes couldn't have happened in a year, much less two weeks. As I mentioned, I have tried many times to figure out what happened here. I got a number of different responses from Granite State, none of which were acceptable. For example, I was told "hedgehogs change color sometimes," which is simply untrue for hedgehogs of this age. Through all of this, I felt that Granite State was trying to blow me off and get me to stop asking for explanations. I am completely devastated at the loss of my pet, and I feel completely powerless here. Talking to Granite State was like talking to a brick wall. Eventually, they stopped answering me and even blocked me from messaging them via their business Facebook page. Please don't make the same mistake I made, and look elsewhere for hedgehogs and hedgehog boarding. read more

I got my hedgehog here and she's super friendly and nice and i'm definitely going to have her stay there while i go on vacation. Its a super friendly environment and super kind people. I got my little sunshine in September and she loves to play and spend time with people! This is the place to go if you ever decided a hedgehogs the right pet for you. read more

We had a great experience with these guys! We purchased a hedgehog from them about a year ago, and the service and delivery to our home in Newton, MA were excellent. They delivered our hedgie right to our door, along with a cage and other gear that we purchased from them. They set up the cage and answered all of our questions. Their website is quite informative. Highly recommended if you are buying a hedgehog. read more

While intimidating at 120 lbs when full grown, he captured the hearts of everyone who came to know him. My favorite story is when we were taking a walk in Washington DC along the Mall, when a little girl walked up behind him, and her mother asked if it was okay if she pet him. We had no hesitation about allowing it, as he was so gentle and had been raised in a household with my 4 kids. She pulled a tuft of shedding hair from his backside, looked at it in surprise, and then tried to put it back on him. He was healthy most of his life, with no real problems. But he had to be put down in 2019 due to cancer. I'm going back to this business now for my second shepherd, even though I now live multiple hundreds of miles away. That is how much I trust these people and their animals.

I bought a baby hedgehog from Granite State Hedgehogs last year, thinking I was getting a healthy, happy pet. Little did I know, I was unwittingly supporting a cruel and deceitful operation. From the start, Sam seemed shady. He couldn't provide any details about my hedgehog's parents or lineage, and brushed off my concerns about potential genetic issues. "They're all the same," he said dismissively. "Just pick one and go." Red flags aside, I fell in love with my little guy and welcomed him into our home. But my joy was short-lived. Within weeks, he began showing signs of illness: lethargy, loss of appetite, and strange neurological symptoms. The vet diagnosed him with a severe genetic disorder, likely passed down from his parents. When I reached out to Sam for help, he was indifferent and unresponsive. He refused to acknowledge any responsibility or offer support, instead blaming me for not "taking better care" of the hedgehog. I was devastated and felt utterly betrayed. My once lively hedgehog passed away a few months later, leaving me heartbroken and angry. I now realize that Sam is nothing more than a profiteer, caring only about lining his pockets with cash from unsuspecting customers like me. Granite State Hedgehogs is a sham, preying on the love and compassion of animal lovers. They sell sick, inbred hedgehogs with no regard for the suffering they cause. I beg you, do not support this cruel and deceitful business. Find a reputable breeder who puts the welfare of their animals first. read more

I adopted my hedgie this past weekend at Granite State Hedgehogs and I could not be more impressed! My little guy is so friendly and outgoing. I took him to the local pet shop for some supplies and the workers were shocked to see how comfortable he was being handled by people! Sam did a great job explaining what I would need, how to best keep my guy happy and healthy, and definitely showed how much he cares for all of his animals. my fiancé and I recently bought our daughters hedge hog Hudson(who she has named Fudge) he so cute and she loves him. Sam at the store was awesome. Sam answered all my questions and was pleasant. He Didn't make us feel pressured at all and took his time to explain things to us. Anyone wanting a hedge hog I would recommend going to them.
