Abdul is the best...totally understands your needs and takes great effort to make sure the result is what you want.

Owner ruined my hair. Too old to be working (his hands shake). I asked for a 4 on the sides (the longest buzzer) and he buzzed me. It's uneven. You can see patches where he went too close. Absolute nightmare read more

What a great experience. Just came in to get a shave, and left with a shave a couple new friends. Peppy is very professional, very clean, and good at what he does. If you are worried about exposure to COVID, not here. They give you new masks and work around them to make sure you never have to be put in a uncomfortable position. What a treat! Enjoy. read more

I'm leaving this review as a warning to others who may fall victim to this butcher shop. Hands down the worst haircut I have ever recieved. This place makes the 45 second haircut in bootcamp look like it was performed by a master barber. The first indication the haircut was going to be terrible was when my barber never bothered standing up. He literally cut my hair while sitting in an office chair! I have a very simple haircut, 2 on the sides, high fade, tapered in the back. And yet I came out of this place looking as though Michael J. Fox did the haircut blindfolded. It was so bad in fact, the barber wouldn't even give me a mirror to see the back of my head. I ended up going to a real barbershop (Handsome Devil) the same day to salvage this chop job. read more

Great old school barber shop! Very personable, convenient as the take walk ins as well as scheduled appointments

If you're lookin for a men's classic barber shop that isn't a corporate knock off then this is the one. Old school. I haven't seen a kid in there before but it's not like the environment is bad by any means. Roland and Abdul are both great guys (Roland is owner, Abdul is the other barber). I prefer Roland but as you can read there are others that would speak highly of Abdul so either way you can't loose. Roland knows just about everyone in Manchester and all of the high schools in town's basketball talent within the past 30 years or more. Great guy. Go here. read more

There are two barbers at this shop. I usually travel an hour to Rochester to get my cut from my barber. I thought i would try something closer since I live in the area. Abdul and the other guy. I first went in and the other guy. .older man who seemed to own the shop gave me an okay haircut. Two weeks later I asked if he does a straight razor shave.. he said yes and I requested one with my cut. He pulls out a DISPOSABLE razor!! No kidding. Lathers me up, shaves me and nicks me all over!! He gave the warm towel after and had the nerve to charge me $30. I can't speak for the other barber but the old guy who seemed to own the place not only lied to my face but did a horrible job. I was beyond pissed and never came back. I will still search for a good barber in Manchester but beware. No straight razor. read more

Just got my haircut here by Abdul. Service was top notch and the cut was excellent! He is very polite and professional, one of the best cuts I've had! You can't go wrong. read more

I have been coming here for over thirty years. The owner Roland is a Navy Vet and gives the greatest haircut around. Abdul joined him over six years ago and also is a great barber. Whenever I get my haircut, everyone always notice how polished my head looks. The service is outstanding and the environment is tailored to welcome everyone. read more

I moved to NH two years ago and found this place right away to my good fortune. Excellent job every time. Abdul is a total pro. The owner does a good job too (can't recall his name). Highly recommend read more

Living in Boston area, I have seen my fair share of barbers. However I was recently between apartment leases and was staying with family in Manchester when I realized I was in desperate need of a haircut. Rather than take the time to go visit my 'regular' barber in MA, I decided to visit Abdul at Granite State Barber Shop on the recommendation of both my brother and a friend. I walked in on a Wednesday afternoon after I got into Manchester from work at about 5:00pm. Abdul was the only one in the shop, and had no customers. He took me right away, immediately realizing that I was a new face. After asking me a few simple questions about how I usually get my hair cut, he went straight to work. I must say that this guy knows how to cut hair. He uses a combination of clippers and scissors, freehanding it nearly the entire time. It almost seems chaotic, but as he progressed, I kept finding myself more and more pleased with the outcome. I have to mention that I am a serious introvert and don't really talk much. Abdul definitely picked up on me not really being a talker and made just enough conversation to keep it from getting awkward, which I really appreciated. After he finished cutting my hair, he cleaned me up with hot lather and a straight razor, again, very professionally. He then gave me a business card on which he wrote down my own personal hair cut preference so that next time, I won't even have to tell him what kind of cut I get, just show him the card. The total rang up to $15 without tip and I was in and out of there in about 20 minutes total. I highly recommend Abdul for any guy looking to get a quick, friendly and very professional haircut in Manchester. read more

In town for a wedding popped in for a quick tune up. Did an outstanding job.

For starters, I simply cannot sing praises loud enough! I came back to Manchester after graduating from college in NY over a year and a half ago and could never find a decent haircut! I grew a chin strap in college and grew accustomed to professional facial shaves from real men who understood men's fashion and what a man wants in a haircut (not a chic stylist who cuts from a magazine of celebrity photos!) I spent a few hours over 2-3 days looking up barbers on yelp and making, phone calls and finally found Granite State Barber Shop! My haircut was 2-3 days ago and I'm just still admiring this haircut! I got the best shave I've ever had from a very friendly man named Abdul! Besides the shave, my haircut is also fantastic! Top it all off with a price that would be VERY competitive even by New York standards, and I'm not going to any other barber as long as I live in Manchester! I'm writing this, my first yelp review ever, because I wanted to show my appreciation for a good barber and because just when yelp and google both were letting me down, I found the best barber in the city! If you need a good cut, want to be treated like a special customer, or are like me and can't find a good mans shave anywhere, then this is your place and the search is over!! read more

This is the best barber shop in Manchester. Abdul takes his time and does an excellent job. I highly recommend Granite State Barbershop.

Great barbershop! I called today because all of the barbershops in Concord were closed. I spoke with a guy who said he would keep the shop open and wait half an hour just for me. I got down there and met Abdul, who not only gave me one of the best haircuts of my life, but proved to be a great guy. I am from Austin, TX and I come to NH a few times a year to visit friends and family. Granite State Barber Shop will be on my list of places to go every time I come up now to drop in and get a cut/ shave from one of NH's finest. Thanks Abdul! read more

I really liked my haircut. Thank you so much Abdoul , it was very nice to meet you. He is very nice and polite person....

I've been there twice. Both times the service was quick and good. Abdul was the last barber who worked on me. Abdul was delightful and the haircut was really good. This is definitely going to be THE barber shop for me as long as I'm in Manchester. read more

A quality barber is hard to find among the masses of SuperCut and Fantastic Sam pop ups crowding mini-malls across the US. This place is not one of those. This is an old school barber shop with two outstanding young men operating it. They are friendly and welcoming. To top it off, they can cut hair. They even use a straight razor for clean up. Love it! read more

I took my teenage son here for a haircut. We met Roland and Abdul - two great guys who are so friendly and full of stories. Roland cut my sons hair and he really liked the result. My son liked his haircut so much because Roland was so friendly and attentive. This is an old school barber shop that really brings back lots of good memories. He only accepts cash which I love that - cash paid and a worthy tip for a job well done. I also learned from Roland that he visits some customers who are confined to their homes and can't get out to his shop - how cool is that? This guy really care about serving his community and has been for many years. Check them out, especially if you have boys who are tired of the chain haircut joints popping up in all the strip malls. We can't wait to go back and I will be bringing both my sons here for their cuts. Thanks Roland - keep up the great service! read more

Abdul was great. None of the things mentioned in the review below occurred with me. He gave me a great haircut and the straight razor was in the sanitizing solution when he used it on me. He was also awarded "the best beauty/barber shop" in Manchester. I'll definitely go there again. The one to stay AWAY FROM is: "The Barber Shop" on 1285 Elm Street. The woman is rude and unwelcoming, she was a complete ass. read more

I often struggle to find a good haircut. My hair just doesn't lend itself to great looks. This was the most pathetic place I have ever been. This man who has been in salon industry doesn't understands what the customer wants and doesn't takes the pain to provide good service. I will not recommend this place unless people have decided to go at other hair salon immediately. read more

Great barber shop Abdul & Roland always have a good time. Great old school barber shop in the city a real hidden gem.

Abdul did an excellent job, and even gave me the specifics of the cut I had so I will know what to ask for next time.
