Internal decoration is more colorful than Modestman was; still a collection of good brews, plus they serve their own food which is a step up from Modestman, which relied on food trucks. Our specific reason for coming this past week was to see a World Cup semifinal (we decided years ago not to have a TV in our summer place on Stone Pond), and it did not disappoint. They opened earlier than their usual starting time of 4 PM, and there was a good crowd on hand for the game, which made the viewing experience nice -- and even nicer since everybody else was rooting for England, but my team, Argentina, won! Planning to be back! UPDATE: we came back twice, for the third place game and the final. They are located in a great spot, with plenty of parking available. We were lucky weather wise to be able to enjoy the patio, which I highly recommend if you visit during a time that allows it. All of the staff were very friendly and service was quite quick. They do offer wine, cocktails, mocktails and plenty of other non-alcoholic drink options so don't let brewing company scare you away. My wife got their Peach Kolsch and I got their Patio Season (lemon fruited wheat beer) and we enjoyed them. Both paired well with the nice weather day! Food wise my wife got Taco Salad that she very much enjoyed. I got their Peach BBQ Chicken Sandwich that had pulled bbq chicken. It was very tasty and you could get the sweetness from the peaches in the sauce. I do wish it would have been a little more peach forward though. Fries were hot and well seasoned but could have had a little more crisp to them. Overall solid spot, would check it out for those looking for a brewery that serves food and even for those just looking for a meal too! We came here to try out their Monday Blues, and happened on their Monday Buck-a-Shuck oysters! We found a long room with over 70 seats set up at tables for four that looked combine-able, about 20 seats at the bar and at 2-seat hightops, both rooms with a wall of windows. The band set up in the bar window, but sit where you like, we found that we could hear the band everywhere! There's also a small enclosed outdoor patio with about 30 more seats at umbrellaed tables. The Jim Atkinson band is a foursome of Boston-area musicians that has been cranking out great blues, rock, & roots since 2017. We loved them, especially enjoying the creative keyboard and a real live sax! Their music selection was amazing, more their favorite solid blues than old-standbys, so we didn't recognize every song. But that's real music :-) The $1 New England oysters were big and juicy! They started at 4pm before we got there, and they still had plenty for us after 7pm! They say the variety changes with availability. These were not overly salty. This was dinner for us, and we started with their hot-skillet "Mexican Corn Dip" with zingy pico de gallo salsa and fresh crisp corn tortilla chips. We got a "warm energy" bowl of quinoa, fresh tart cranberries, baby spinach, roasted sweet potato, and goat cheese, flavored with some scallions and garlic-butter. Huge, delicious, and very satisfying! The Fish 'n Chips was a full-foot-long full of their own Moon-Hill-beer beer-battered haddock, piping-hot fries, fresh crunchy coleslaw, with tartar sauce. Yep, Huge, delicious, and satisfying! We tried their parmesan-garlic wings, but that wasn't our favorite. They were ok, but not crispy which we expected. Came with crunchy celery and creamy bleu cheese. Of course we leaned on their in-house Moon Hill brewery for several dry IPAs, their luscious Candy Mountain blueberry sour, (which could have been colder), and a very tasty non-alcohol Blueberry (Not)-tini, a bubbly beverage crafted with "Reàl Blueberry Purée", fresh lemon juice and lemonade. TLDR; We had a great time at the winery and enjoyed the wines. The two bottles of wine we had…read morebought seemed to have been improperly bottled where one went bad and the other had wine leaking out from the cork. We visited this winery in early June and did their tasting. They had a tent and seats set up outside. It was a nice set up and I forget who was there, but he was really nice. We tried a variety wine and actually liked a few of them. So we decided to buy a couple bottles, a Merlot and a Summit Rose. It was definitely amazing that their wines were good and nicely priced. Not to mention buying a bottle waives tasting fees. We had a great time and came back home with a couple bottles. Then, we put the bottles away on our wine rack along with 10+ other bottles. Now, we are not connoisseur of wine but we are definitely not new to wines and proper storage. We lived in San Francisco in proximity to the Napa Valley and were part of multiple winery memberships for a year or more. With that in mind, let's continue. Fast forward to early August when we decided to open the Merlot. We instantly knew something was wrong when we uncorked the wine bottle and it was fizzing at the top. We thought maybe that was what was supposed to happen although we had NEVER seen a non-sparkling red do that, so I tried a sip and instantly knew it was bad. But the bottle was perfectly fine and didn't see any cracks. So how could it be? We chalked it up to bad luck and picked out another wine we brought from San Francisco to enjoy the evening. Then, we decided we would try the Summit Rose this past Friday, so when I went to grab the bottle, I noticed a very small pool of wine underneath the mouth of the bottle. Then, I tracked it down to the Summit Rose. As you see in the photo, there's wine oozing out of the foil. And as I opened the foil to examine the cork, I saw that the top of the cork was stained and that there was a trail going from inside the bottle along the cork/bottle to the outside where it could have spilled out of. I decided to put it upside down on white paper to see if it'll spill and indeed, it did. Then, I left it out upright overnight and found some wine on the topside. Looks like some kind of pressure built up from inside for whatever reason and pushed some wine out the top. All in all, I want to reiterate that we had a GREAT experience at the winery. The outside seating (although inside looked cool but due to the current situation it was unavailable), the one staff pouring the wine and the wine themselves were all pretty good. But looks like I hit the bad luck jackpot and ended up getting 2 bad bottles.
