A couple of weeks ago on a Sat. afternoon I met some friends at Granite Brewery; there was a Cask Social Event on their back patio that started at 1 pm that day featuring 6 cask beers. The Cask Social Group has had Events at Granite before; the previous one I attended took place on the same day as the Brewery's Annual Anniversary Beer Fest. last summer (2024) and I've attended the last 3 of their beer fests going back to 2022. I first visited Granite back in in 2007 when I met the Founder and Owner of the Brewery, Ron Keefe at a beer sampling and learning Event with a beer lovers social Group I used to help Organize. Since then I've been to Granite many times for various other Events with the beer lovers Group and other social Groups I've been a Member of, including their Sunday Buffet Brunch which I believe they no longer have. I've always had a quite enjoyable time there as the venue is quite spacious overall and their back patio (they have a front patio too) is quite nice, spacious and covered in case of inclement weather. The Brewery's beer selection has always been quite solid with a variety of offerings featuring many different styles and flavours. Other than brunch - which has always been quite good - I don't believe I've had any other meals/food there. I plan to continue visiting for their annual beer fests as the 3 I've been to were all very enjoyable. read more

Came here for a drink with a couple of friends on Saturday night. Our server (old woman) was extremely rude! A while after she forced us to settle our bill before her shift was finished, she came back to our table and claimed that my bill was still open in a rough manner. I clearly remembered that I tapped my credit card on the machine and the payment went through (I should have gotten the receipt !). I told her that I paid and was going to check my credit card stamenent online. She was impatient to wait and said "no paid right?" while I was still checking my online banking. I saw the transaction on my credit card statement and showed it to her. She did not apologize to me at all. She was rude thru the night, not only this event. I will not go back to this bar as long as this woman still works there. read more

Came here for lunch today for the first time. Great food and service! They have a pretty long lunch menu as there is a holiday special until Jan 2nd, weekend brunch and regular lunch menu. I had a really hard time deciding because everything sounded so good. The holiday menu included items like Lobster Mac & Cheese, Chicken Pot Pie and Soup & Crab Cakes. My daughter got the Chicken Pot Pie and it was amazing. I got the Chicken Souvlaki dinner which was only okay as the chicken was a bit dry but the side greek salad was perfect. Yesterday I went to a event in your garden. The food was great, the location was nice but the service was horrible!!!!! Not all the staff were bad, but several urgently need customer service training. answers like right now I'm busy when you ask for something, But the worst part is a waitress who is on the entrance terrace, The lady screamed and insulted because we were moving a chair when she was able to politely indicate that it was not allowed, I felt her attitudes inappropriate and racist. Because my children were in front of me and were already scared by the waitress's terrible attitude, I decided to remain silent. I think they urgently need to reevaluate they're in a service position or urgently change jobs. Life is too short to live bitterly. read more

Gord and I had a late lunch Friday afternoon at the Granite Brewery with friends (there were eight of us). My Ringberry Ale (raspberry blonde beer) was good! Gord had Fish and Chips (haddock in the Granite's own Ringwood ale batter served with fresh cut fries, a side of coleslaw and tartar sauce). It was a big meal! The fish and fries were good. I had the Chicken Souvlaki Dinner (two marinated charbroiled chicken skewers on a bed of basmati rice with Greek salad, warm pita bread and tzatziki) but without the salad. It was good too. Will not likely return again. The place was understaffed so they sent a bus boy or someone in training to serve our party. He was great despite his lack of experience but one of our party was asked what side he wanted with his food and told multiple options including onion rings. When the bill came, our friend asked why an extra $4. He wasn't informed at ordering this was extra. The server did not spell it out and made it sound like it was just one of the options. So the server called over the bartender who appeared to be the one in charge. He said to our friend "when I go to a restaurant and order something I expect to have to pay for it...". Wow, what a prick. He did remove it from the bill but the attitude and the way he said that given the circumstances. We asked him to apologize to our friend and he refused. The same guy who had his birthday party here a month ago or so and we all dropped probably over $6-700. It's too bad. We liked this place but would never come back unless we know that management has taken action to reprimand or deal with this mouthy employee. read more

Ok I guess. Bad start with staff who couldn't tell me where our group reservation was being seated. I eventually figured that out. Typical pub fare. No one had any big complaints, and the table staff were very good about keeping beverages topped up, checking in with us, etc. Definitely the real value of the experience. It was a sunny Saturday and we were looking for somewhere to grab breakfast and also enjoy a patio. Granite Brewery's small patio out front seemed like a decent choice, but there's a lot of construction in the area, so I was skeptical. I did, however, remember that the place has another patio out back, and though it was hopping, we managed to secure a perfect table for two. The restaurant was also doing their extremely well-priced breakfast buffet, but a quick perusal of the menu highlighted the presence of a Breakfast Burrito, and I'm certainly not one to say no to a burrito of any kind. (This is the part where I'd list the components of the dish, but the Granite website doesn't have the Breakfast Burrito listed. This is a pretty big pet peeve of mine, to be honest.) Anyway, I was warned that my dish would take about a half hour because the kitchen was unusually busy, and indeed it did arrive about a half hour after I ordered it. But it's good. Really good. The components all work really well and the guacamole does a nice job of bringing some freshness to the dish. (I mean, this is definitely a burrito that needs freshness, since it had three different kinds of meat in there.) The menu described the burrito as also coming with a side of salsa, which I never received. I also requested a bottle of ketchup for the accompanying home fries, but I didn't get that until I was almost finished the meal. (I will admit that our server acknowledged that she messed up by comping one of my beers, which was a really thoughtful and classy thing to do.) Oh, and the beer was pretty great, too. read more

One of our Winterlicious options...absolutely no regrets!! Location 3/5: Midtown & accessible by public transit. Parking is close by, underground, & free Atmosphere 2.5/5: Cozy, a bit dated. Could use some renovation. Food 3.5/5: Delicious. We enjoyed the seafood soup, pear walnut blue cheese salad, steak, seafood mac & cheese, & the vanilla bean cheesecake. No complaints...very delicious. So good, we ended up ordering a bacon Mac & cheese for take out!! Service 5/5: Our Server was efficient & very accommodating & customer service friendly. A good place for some pretty good pub food and a whole lot of craft beer choices. The decor takes you back to a traditional pub feel while the two old man manikins playing chess at a table for two will probably weird you out the first time you see them. The beer is tasty and the prices are pretty solid value in my opinion. The lineup does change throughout the seasons as the new offerings arrive and the old ones just fade away. The food here is pretty good although my lamb burger left me a little disappointed. It didn't have that lamb flavour that I was expecting and maybe it was a patty blend. The Granite sampler platter however was pretty spot on with the crab cakes, wings, calamari, and the quesadilla came out nice and hot. Service was friendly and prompt even though there was a few large parties that had to be attended. It's a just a really laid back place that is just far enough away from the Yonge/Eglinton construction madness that's worth the walk over. read more

2.5 Star The Beer Flight ($11.75) for 9 samples + root beer is definitely a bargain at Granite Brewery & Restaurant. However, I found most of their beer they brewed lacks character and personally I am not a fan. The Carrot Cake with whiskey sauce and whipped cream ($5.99) on the other hand was a winner. I only able to have 1 bite and then the whole slice was gone so fast... Granite Brewery does feel dated, maybe it is its charm but it is definitely not my pint of beer! read more

The restaurant is much larger than it looks upon walking in. The bar section is very small but there are plenty of tables and booths and an outside patio. Service was very friendly. I told the server I was vegan, and he was very knowledgable of the menu and what I could eat. The pasta was good. Nothing amazing. My friend really enjoyed his veggie burger and the fries were pretty tasty. There were a ton of beer options, since it was a brewery. The server was able to point me towards the fruity ones and I actually enjoyed some of them! Normally, I don't like beer. Overall fine experience. Nothing outstanding but good. read more

The beer passport app was what brought me here. The brewery felt very hidden as Mt Pleasant and Eglinton since there's ongoing construction all around. At this brewery, you get to select cask beers, rotating drafts, and beers on tap, which was a bonus for me since you don't find very many breweries with all these selections. During our visit we tried the Galactic, Best Bitter, Lady MacBeth Scotch Ale, and Ringberry. They each REALLY had their own unique taste, and I really enjoyed all 4. We opted for 2lbs of chicken wings & fries ($24) to pair with the beers. I'd love to come back and try their other options, or at the very least grab some bottles to go :) read more

We came for dinner as part of the Old Toronto Beer Tour. This was our last stop from an exciting day of drinking and sightseeing. We ate from a fixed menu and we were welcomed by the owner of the establishment. I can't comment about the regular menu and our service was very attentive being part of this tour. We arrived around 6:30pm and this place was very busy. They were also hosting a wedding reception in the back of the restaurant. I have to agree with the other reviewers that the decor is dated. Washrooms at least are modern and clean. On our fixed menu, we had Roasted Striploin as our main with Garden salad and Bruschetta as appetizers and Apple Brown Betty for dessert. Each of the courses was paired with a different beer. At this point, I couldn't tell whether the beers were good or not but what I can tell you is that none were as memorable as the beers I had in the other stop of the tour. If I have to pick one, I'll go with Granite's Peculiar for me. The striploin was excellent along with the mashed potatoes. The sautéed vegetables were okay. The rest of the dishes were okay with the exception of the dessert. I didn't like the dessert. The bruschetta reminds to the one that I make at home. Not sure if I will come back on my own. Food is not bad, standard pub fare so no surprise there. read more

Grabbed a spot on the patio at the end of the season. After a great run, we were starving. Ordered a pint and my stomach screamed for a burger. No question, Stout Drunken Burger with fries was what I needed. The burger was fabulous. The burger patty and fries are both made in house. Both were quite tasty. I was so hungry, I didn't take a photo of it. I don't think I've ever done that before. Our server had a great sense of humour even though the place was packed! There was an event in the back room, but many of the guests stuck around to have a few drinks. He was so calm; this must happen often. It's a large venue. Decor is a bit dated, but it's an English pub and it looks like one! read more

I loved this place, I visited often as I live close by. I frooze on the back patio in zero degrees durring covid. I had many lunches and dinners there over the years. it was one of my favourite pubs. I have been to many brewpubs all across Canada (and many in the US) and the beer here is absolutely top-notch. My girlfriend and I went here today for a late lunch and we ordered off of Granite's Winterlicious menu (a prix fixe menu). We both had a pear a blue cheese salad, she had lobster mac-n-cheese and I had the lamb stew. All of it was amazing. They do not at all skimp on any of the ingredients - the salads were full of generous chunks of blue cheese and pear. The mac-n-cheese was full of large pieces of lobster and my lamb stew was full of melt-in-your-mouth lamb. All of it was cooked/prepared to perfection. We have eaten in many mid-to-high-end restaurants across the city and the food here is excellent - not just for a "pub". The service was also great and despite a slightly drab look from the outside, the atmosphere of the place was lovely. They have underground parking (they validate it - so it's free). read more

I love the Granite Brewery and consider myself to be a loyal patron of this fine midtown establishment. I've been visiting this pub for about a decade now, and absolutely adore their house-brewed craft beer. They conveniently sell growlers of their beer to-go and you can take it home If you were so inclined. The Ringwood pale ale is a favourite of mine, and I find myself constantly going back to it. Their Jerk Chicken wings are incredible, and are undoubtedly my go-to choice when I am dining here. I have also tried their burger, ribs, and steak and found them all to be exceedingly delicious. Kudos to the Chef, he or she really knows what they're doing! The service is great and attentive, the staff here is fantastic and I have never had a negative experience at this place over all the years I've been coming here. Their patio in the back is really tranquil and a great place for brunch on a warm summer day. read more

3 stars for "A-OK". I came here for winterlicious. They made an effort on the menu to make some interesting flavor combinations, but it's ultimately more like comfortable pub food - not a bad thing! The beers are good, but the carry-out options are surprisingly expensive. It's too bad. I'd hoped to carry home a few cans. Guys. The granite is not great by any means. Well-located, yea. Decent in-house brews, sure. But it's downhill from there. The place closes kind of early. No more drinks after 11:30 on a Saturday (huh?) and kitchen closes by midnight. Weird. We just managed to get a platter and PLEASE BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY the crab cakes had me doing uncivilized things for two days straight. I'm talking MILD FOOD POISONING and severe everything-out-now-ness. I share this not to humiliate myself but to spare you the gastro-implosion. Apart from two crab cakes (that's all it took), I had two wings. It was all tasteless. Oh, except the sweet potato fries. Those were ok. Just keep walking down Mt Pleasant for real crab cakes and stay closer to Yonge and Eg for proper wings and a better beer selection. I RECOMMEND- only having alcohol. Not a shabby place to hang out. We came here for some wings and beer. Beer? Great. The pint of roundwood was quite nice. Wings, not too bad. The suicide wings were a little overcooked but actually quite spicy. I was pretty happy about that. The service was friendly and the place was pretty busy on a Friday night. Hats off to the chef- the Gnocchi Jambalaya was amazing, especially since the waitress asked me how spicy? i said im East Indian ..i can handle a lot, and i guess so was the chef. Probably the best Jambalaya i ever had. It changed me idea of how the dish is supposed to taste. I usually get the Jambalaya at Boston Pizza, but now that I have tried this it would be comparing Burgers Priest to McDonalds. The ringwood beer was really great as well, sweet and went down smooth. Servers were friendly, and try to get seated by the fire place in the winter. Also there is a large mirror which is pretty trippy. They have a extensive menu and are really accommodating to Vegetarians as well.. Will definitely be going back. read more

Came here for a retirement party the other night. As noted by Mitch S. the atmosphere was 'meh.' We were fed the hors d'oeuvres of the Granite Brewery. Once again, another 'meh.' Cut up vegetables, samosas from Costco and thin pieces of cheddar cheese ... I don't drink alcohol anymore, but the watered down, overpriced fountain drink was okay I guess. I never knew about this place until a friend recommended we go for Summerlicious. We were out on the patio on a Sunday afternoon for a $15 meal. Couldn't ask for anything more....that is until I saw their beer menu.....Bloody brilliant. I'd label this place as a diamond in the rough. I went in here Sunday morning... I guess they have a Sunday breakfast buffet that goes on every week. I took a peak at it and it looked decent, but I was there to try the beer. Beer and eggs just didn't sound too good to me. My fiancée and I ordered the beer flight of all 8 beers and the root beer along with an appetizer sampler. Over all none of the beers were that impressive. The stout was the only one I remember being pretty good, but the best one was their root beer. The price for the beer sampler was really good I think it was only $10. But my biggest problem with Granite was the service was terrible. I know it was Sunday morning / afternoon but there was only like six tables and two waitresses. If you're a beer nut and have to try all the brewery's in Toronto then give Granite a try. Or if you're working at DraftFCB and looking for a lunch spot then Granite could work for you. But if you ask me just go to Mill Street and skip Granite. Granite Brewery isn't that great and pretty far from the downtown. read more

This was our first visit here. We just discovered that they have a huge place on the back which is not visible from the front. There's also a patio which seems to be really nice in the summer. We started with the beer. Their good variety of house-made beer should satisfy anyone's expectations. We started off with the soup of the day "Tomato and Parmesan" which was way better than we expected. As our main dish, I had the "Shrimp and Chicken Linguine" and hubby had the "Chipotle Lamb Burger". The portion of both foods was pretty generous and we both loved them for their taste as well. The service was quick and to the point. We were well taken care of despite the fact that it was a rather busy day for them. We'll be regulars here for sure! read more

I've been to Granite Brewery a few times now. The service varies, from occasionally very slow to average to good. I like the food here, which is like classic pub grub. Most recently I had the Drunken Mac and Cheese with bacon and jalapenos. It was a smaller serving than you'd expect, but probably a good size considering all the fattening ingredients! But maybe it could come with a side of vegetables? It tastes really good, and is the perfect amount of heat. I think the cheese could be sharper, but I just really sharp cheese. I also really like their quesadillas. The Key Lime Pie (my favourite dessert) was delicious, a good size to share between two, but probably no more than that. I recommend going in the summer when you can sit on the back patio. read more

I want to like the Granite more. But the food is over-seasoned/salty, there's too much reliance on prepackaged frozen sides (chips, hash browns, etc., pre-battered, tough, frozen calamari, etc.). The craft beer is all over the map. Some is bland and almost tasteless; others are great. Ask for a taste before you commit to a pint. With a kitchen that put some care into the old pub standards, and sources fresh ingredients, it could be a super spot. read more

I've been here twice during lunch time - the second time to overwrite my first experience (since this is close to work). The first time, the food AND service were terrible (very dry chicken wings). The second time, the service was exceptionally bad and the food good (the souvlaki wrap). I've found them to be short staffed (which is palatable if they're nice about it). Except, what you get is a blase, cold "deal with it" attitude which is very turning off. If I really need to go back, I'll go for the souvlaki roll but get a take out instead. read more
