However, I spent half a day at the course at the first hole - now don't go crazy on me - I was there for a valid reason. At the first hole, I set up our company's corn hole boards. Each four-person team selected one person to throw a bag. Once they picked who that was - someone else from the team would pick a card and the card indicated how they had to throw the bag. If they got it in - they could minus a point and if they didn't - they gained a point and pictures were taken. Drinks were plentiful throughout the course and I heard from a lot of players that it was one of the best courses and by far a great day. The owners were their the entire time and they are the best people I could have asked for - no one was a golf snob and if I ever retire and have time - I'll be back to this course and take some lessons!

I try to make it to this course every year, over an hour drive from home, and the other members of my group always like it also. A special thanks to Dan Rettig who scheduled our tee times more than a week prior to our outing. Reserving a tee time is usually just 3 days prior to your day of golf but he let us schedule early since we had a group of 7 and we had to arrange transportation and finalizing who was going to be able to play due to work schedules. As it turned out one of members could not make it at the last minute. You can bet that I will be returning here on another day to challenge those tough greens.

Since these were lessons I did not play full rounds of golf. My instructor was Chuck. He was patient, kind and funny. He offered some great instructions and I learned a lot during my time with him. During covid the classes were reduced to 50% capacity. Students and instructor needed to wear a mask if they were less than 6 feet from one another. Everyone needed their own clubs too. If you want to come and play you need to make a reservation. I enjoyed my lessons and hope to take more next summer.

A Clifton Hill Classic That Still Delivers the Fun…read more We hit up Wizard's Golf for a double date, but this spot is a childhood staple for all of us, it's been part of Clifton Hill for as long as we can remember. It's one of those classic mini-golf attractions that always brings out the fun and nostalgia. These days it's definitely a lot busier than it used to be, but despite the crowds, we still had a great time. The glow-in-the-dark wizarding theme is awesome, especially if you're into fantasy vibes. It's a perfect little stop during a Clifton Hill visit, whether you're a first-timer or you've been going since you were a kid like us. Still a fun time after all these years!

There were lots of fun spots for photo opportunity (though we had to kindly ask people to give us space before taking any photos since the place was jam packed). Overall a fun experience. We ordered food and a drink before we played. The bar was very nice, good lighting and personable bartenders. We ordered a couple beers, a Reuben sandwich and an order of sweet potato fries. All items were terrific. The sandwich had real corned beef, swiss cheese, sauerkraut, sauce and pumpernickel seeded bread. Yum! The fries had a butter, cinnamon syrup that was delicious too. The beer was $5 for happy hour, which is not a bad price for hay burner. We were able to pay $10 to rent a club and we got a bucket of medium balls. There were plenty of spots available on both floors and the area was clean and set up nicely. I hit a few balls, so I feel that it was a successful night! We had so much fun and will definitely be back.
