You get the instruction and the tips on how to throw the hatchet and then boom, you're off and running. (Not actually running, but you know what I mean.) The instructors are all great and really liven up the whole experience while also giving you tips along the way. This kind of activity really brings out the competition in people in the best way. Many of us had ever thrown hatchets before and those who had, aren't masters by any means. It was just a really enjoyable time to all try something new together. The drinks help too! Not with the throwing (I mean I don't think so) but with keeping the spirits high and having a good ol' time. The space itself is very big but with the cages for throwing, it can get a little tight with a lot of people. There is a bar there with some great beers on tap including the mystery beer which is always fun to try to guess. Food is limited to mostly pub grub but honestly, you're here to throw hatchets, not eat a ton. The pizza we had was good though so check that out. Overall, this is a really cool place to try out. And hey, if you like it, they even have weekly leagues here you can join and get better and continue the fun.

I love that they often host free events (both family friendly and adult oriented) and also things like fitness classes. There are places to take a seat and relax and there are some nice amenities and fun attractions like Shark Girl. There is ample surface lot parking plus there is the Harborfront garage. There is currently an indoor exhibit that is free (and air conditioned) about the history of the Erie Canal. There is also a canal boat, the carousel and the navel park. The one down side is that there seems to be perpetual construction. There are always fences, road blocks and other construction around. Great that development is happening, but it means that it might be a challenge to get around. A great place to enjoy the Buffalo waterfront and spend some time outdoors.

They had a midway, animals, 4 H competitions and a stage for acts. We had our lemonade, bought something from a vendor, actually rang a bell on the train they had displayed and watched some dancing. I think this was great for the locals. We enjoyed ourselves. We have been to bigger fairs but also smaller ones. Great place right off the thruway.

They can now display a wide range of quality diving equipment and have factory-trained service technicians on staff for all the brands they carry. I also like the easy in-and-out service for air fills. Owners Carole and Tony Anderson have been prominent figures in the Western New York underwater community for decades. Tony Anderson has taught SCUBA in WNY for over 50 years and has participated in discovery teams for several wrecks in Lake Erie and Tobermory, Canada. He is an instructor trainer for Scuba Schools International and Divers Alert Network. Carole Anderson has been diving for 26 years and a Scuba Schools International instructor for 23 years. She is also a Divers Alert Network instructor and is currently in her 8th year as the dive safety officer for the Aquarium of Niagara. Her knowledge combined with a little tough love keeps all of her students alive.

I rarely write reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience with Phoenix Scuba to hopefully…read morehelp others make an informed decision. We enrolled in a scuba course with the intention of learning in a safe, professional, and supportive environment. Unfortunately, what I encountered was the opposite. Communication was poor from the start -- schedules were unclear, and I often had to follow up multiple times just to get basic information. During training, I witnessed a level of disorganization and lack of professionalism that raised real concerns about safety and adherence to industry standards. Instructors seemed overwhelmed or disinterested, and basic expectations for structure and clarity simply weren't met. I've submitted a formal complaint to SSI (Scuba Schools International), and they are currently investigating the matter under their Quality Management System. While SSI has limited authority over how individual training centers operate beyond official standards, I appreciated their willingness to take the concerns seriously. I believe scuba training is something that should be handled with the utmost professionalism and care -- and unfortunately, Phoenix Scuba did not deliver on that. There are many great dive shops out there -- I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Visiting Buffalo, NY and discovered this place searching on Yelp. It's surprisingly close to where…read moremy hometown is. Went here with 10 people today! Five of us know how to play, and five of us did not know how to play it. The place is air-conditioned inside using mini-splits. It was cool inside and it was 90 degrees outside! There are 6 pickleball courts inside, and three tennis courts. Nobody was playing tennis or pickleball today when we were playing from 11 to 1 PM in the afternoon on a Wednesday. They have a nice seating bar area on both sides of the pickleball courts. You can easily swap out players after each game, then sit back and watch the next game. They have open play from 11-1 for 3.0 players, except on Wed. it is from 9-11 a.m. for 3.0 players, and they have open play for those people who play 3.5 or higher from 9-11 except for Tues. when it is 9-11 a.m. I saw both alcoholic and regular beverages available for sale. I checked the locker rooms out, they were really nice! I also saw coat racks and boot holders for those lovely Buffalo White Winters!
