Disappointing and Inefficient Management - A Waste of Taxpayer Dollars
As a resident and taxpayer of Hazel Crest, I am deeply disappointed by the unprofessional and outdated operations of this library. The room reservation process is entirely broken and shows a complete disregard for residents' time.
Currently, to find out if a room is even available, you are required to physically visit the library, fill out a paper application, and wait days for a response. In an era where online booking and real-time scheduling are standard, forcing residents to commute just to check a date--such as confirming an recurring Wednesday availability--is completely unacceptable.
To contrast, the Flossmoor library handles this seamlessly. Even as a non-resident, I can call them to instantly check availability, get clear policy information, and book a room over the phone. Meanwhile, Hazel Crest residents are subjected to endless bureaucratic runarounds for a public utility we actively fund.
The management needs to modernize its system immediately. The current process creates unnecessary barriers to community access and is a poor reflection of how our tax dollars are being utilized. read more
