Went in here at 5:00pm today and they still had donuts left. It's an old school type donut shop. The staff were pretty casual, and told us what types of donuts were left. They cost $1.60 each, and the cream filled eclairs are $2.10. We picked up an Eclair, Dutchie, and Glazed donut. The size of all of them were just a bit bigger than Tim Horton's donuts. We wanted to eat at a table inside, especially since it was 17°F out, but all the tables were moved at an angle making it impossible to have a seat at them. I guess they start cleaning up the place at 5:00pm. As we ate the donuts off-site, we noticed the Eclair had very little taste to it--the whipped cream and chocolate topping tasted like nothing. The Dutchie tasted very doughy, with not many raisins in it. The Glazed donut was the best of the bunch, being moist and tasty. All in all, I wasn't that impressed with this place, and don't feel the premium price they put on the donuts is justified.

This place had every OG traditional flavour of donut possible in shop. My favorite was the cherry loop which you don't find everywhere but really each donut here is great. They had seemingly an unlimited supply of each when we arrived and the staff were inviting. Social distancing recommendations were positively enforced.

I found this amazing donut shop a week ago by reviews and the donuts are amazing. So I made another trip back there today to get another dz donuts. Upon our arrive there was one staff member who didn't seem to be in a good mood and she ended up serving us. I treated her and asked how she was doing. She didn't reply just asked what I wanted. Alright I'll keep the small talk to a minimum and just tell her my order. I made a joke to my friend about my friend and she seemed offended so again I'll keep my chatter down. When it came time to pay she was very short and had a rude tone. I said have a nice day and her reply was " ya thanks ". If you are having a rough day you shouldn't take it out on your customers at all. My friend was served after me and when it came time to leave after she paid she asked for a piece of tape to keep the box closed and the lady rolled her eyes at my friend. I just wanna say I'm sorry you are having a bad day and I really hope it gets better for you.

Sugar Twist, old fashioned glazed, orange twist. The apple driver missed the photo shoot! Guess where it's was?

When in Hamilton, I always hear about how great Grandad's Donuts are. I have been in and out of Hamilton longer than they have been in their current location and I've not gone in at all--until now! True to what a lot of positive reviews are saying--I am hooked! To take it for a good run, I ordered 4 donuts: Apple Fritter, Sugar Twist, Orange Twist and an Old Fashioned Glazed. No, I didn't eat them all but bit a big chunk out of each one and finished the apple fritter. To my amazement, closer to noon, they were all still fresh! My teeth sunk joyfully in a cloud of freshness! Grandad's Donuts--you had me at my first bite of the Apple Fritter!! I'm not a big donut eater but this place is definitely the best donuts and worth going back to, time and time again! Friendly staff--keep up the great work and don't cut corners--people will come!

I would come back for the nostalgia and leave the donuts. Grandad's Donuts is a bite of the past with the neon plastic booths and the donuts laid out in trays the way they used to be at Timmies or Coffee Time in the 90s. Admittedly, I am a millennial baby so I can just barely remember those days. We had coffee, an eclair and one of their "grandad's feature" donuts which ended up tasting more like dried out peptol bismol. The coffee was equally mediocre - it was pretty weak but standard donut companion coffee. The eclair on the other hand was lovely. Would definitely recommend because of the fresh cream taste. Overall Grandad's Donuts was a great experience but I wouldn't stay for the donuts but rather for the ambiance.

The cost of these average donuts has gone through the roof. I guess they want us to pay for their renovations. Nope!

Just alright! The donut was kind of dry; maybe that's because we came at the end of the day? Service staff was super nice.

Unfortunately it was not available on my second visit so I ordered the cinnamon bun muffin and the cranberry orange donut and both were incredible. The muffin reminded me so much of the monkey bread and everything about it was perfect. The donut was outstanding and that cranberry orange flavor completely blew my mind. I truly hope it becomes a regular item. I also decided to try a slice of pizza since everyone always raves about it. To be honest I went in a little skeptical because when something is overly hyped it usually disappoints me. I was very wrong. I ordered the roni supreme with whipped ricotta hot honey and pepperoni and it absolutely knocked my taste buds down. The dough was light thin and crispy and the combination of hot honey with the whipped ricotta was mind blowing. It felt like opening Pandora's box and now I am wondering how I am ever going to get my summer body back. The service was fantastic and genuinely kind and even though it was busy they kept the line moving at a great pace. I have not yet sat inside because it tends to get crowded and I like my space but the interior is cute. If you can find a quieter time to enjoy your food I would definitely recommend staying.

The staff were patient and kind. The restaurant itself is a bit small but has some seating in case you wish to dine in house. Duck donuts prepares their donuts to order, so you always getting a pipping fresh donut that gets glazed and topped off right in front of your eyes. We ordered a mixture of their classic and seasonal flavours: -Blueberry cheesecake -PB&J -Classic Sugared (my favourite!) -Coconut island (also my favourite) -Peach -S'mores Their flavour selection is impressive, but that's also because the donut base is the same amongst all of them, it's just the variety of toppings that changes it up. The texture of the donut is like a cake donut, BUT IT WAS SO LIGHT & FLUFFY. Pretty much will crumble and melt in your mouth! I've never had a donut texture like this! Worth a try if you're in the area :) Prepare for a decently long line up though, people generally take a while at the cash register to decide on the flavours too.

The reason is they make the donuts fresh when you order them - these are not par-baked like what the TH guys do. Duck Donuts are cake donuts - think Tiny Tom, but bigger... and oh, so many toppings! They have dozens of flavour combinations or you can make your own... dips, icings, sprinkles, even bacon! (Yes, bacon on a donut is absolutely delicious.) Of course, I have to mention the incredible staff who greet you warmly when you come in and help you choose from the slightly intimidating menu. I also love the beautiful, open, and bright space - the wall-to-ceiling windows let in lots of sun and make this an amazing place for a morning donut sandwich (yum) or a milkshake made with lots of real ice cream. They don't have online ordering at the time of this review, but I've called ahead a few times to order a "Duck Dozen" assorted box, and these make gifts for the office, or as dessert for family gatherings. They are always a big hit!

They have pies, apple fritters, jam preserves, frozen savoury pies, honey, cookies, and a lot of other baked goods and what not. Pies come in small or large size. First time we bought two smalls and thought we would slowly eat one at home and share the other with friends. We thought wrong! Devoured both before we even left Burlington Hamilton area!! This time, we got two again: apple crumble and raspberry. We went around 3pm and many flavours were running low or out of stock. I highly recommend getting any of the crumble pies because the crumble is a chewy, full of texture layer on top of the pie versus a normal pie crust top. Our friends ordered different flavours so we had a nice time trying each other's by the picnic tables outside. So far my top choices are any of the crumble (apple, peach, rhubarb, and others) and then it would be the berry ones. I love a little bit of tartness! The staff are super friendly as well and always offering suggestions if you are a bit indecisive. GET THE PIES. Stop by and see and taste for yourself!!
