This is an awesome place to go hit some baseballs and softballs. We decided to do this on a whim and boy was it fun, good exercise, and relieve some stress from the work week. They offered several cages for hitting and two basketball courts. My hubs decided to do the 65mph and 75mph baseball cages and I decided to do the 55mph softball cage. We probably spent a couple hours in here. They have bats and helmets you can use or bring your own. The prices are reasonable. This was by far a cool place and we will definitely be back!! Grand Slam is a large indoor facility. As you enter there's a basketball court. At the back you will find the batting cages, register and small store. We were referred for their softball coaches and individual training. 40 min training for $60. This is paid at the time of training. There are a few coaches to pick from depending on the type of training you prefer, each coach has a bio along with their accolades. Lots of families and young kids working on their baseball/softball skills. Call ahead to book your appointment if you choose to train one on one with a coach. I was in search of a different kind of date night, and decided to give the batting cages a try with my boo. We searched around Raleigh, and this place came up pretty quickly. We rolled up on a Saturday evening, and were the only people inside the building except the people working there. For $24 we were able to do eight rounds of bats, which went pretty quickly. The whole evening lasted 30 minutes. I think if there was better bundling, we would have stayed for a little longer, but it just didn't make sense for the price. Also the cages are pretty grimy, and the machines are old, and inconsistent. The guys working there were really nice though, and didn't bug us while we had our fun. read more

Really disappointed in the behavior of management. I started a youth non profit basketball team after talking with them and securing the court times. We had about 10 practices there and then abruptly, with no warning, they canceled our practices the day before. The reason? We had 20 10-year-old boys at practice when they only allow 15 at a time. I get it, you didn't realize the size of the teams when you made the agreement with me. However, you should have spoken with me. Cutting out the kids like that with no notice or warning says a lot about your company culture and character. Good news, starting next week some generous churches have opened their doors to our team for less than half the cost and with full-sized courts. read more

There's something about swinging a bat that brings back memories of being a young'un, getting ready for a baseball or softball game. Grand Slam USA, tucked away next to the K-Mart on Western Blvd will definitely do that to you! I stopped in since I'm headed down to Florida and may be taking some hacks at a ballpark during my visit. Inside Grand Slam, there's a ton of space: two basketball courts, four batting cages and a gaming/party area. Grab 10 tokens for $20, 10 pitches per token and I was good to go. They've got bats and helmets available but of course bring your own, especially if you've got a Wonderboy lying around! Pop the token in and the balls get fed through an overhead track and thup, out she comes! I crushed the first three softballs I saw, probably would have been easy home-runs, NOT... Actually, I swung through the first balls but they were too high, c'mon now! You've got a couple of buttons for height adjustment and it was back to swinging. Accuracy of the pitches was so-so but you just need to adjust the plate accordingly. After about five sessions, this old man had to bail out. Out front I dropped off the borrowed bat and checked out the snack area replete with video games and party room. And today, there are parts of my wrists, back and shoulder that are painful reminders of my 30 minutes at Grand Slam USA,. Hello ibruprofen! So yeah, Grand Slam USA is a great place to tune up your swing and make you feel young again. Until the next day when you get the painful reminder that you ain't that athletic kid anymore! We rented this spot out for two hours of basketball and had lots of fun. We paid $160 for two hours of one of the two full courts, and they provided us quality balls to use. The building could use a renovation/upgrade -- the courts are not long enough and the bathrooms are old -- but for the purposes of working out and personal training, which they seem to specialize in, it gets the job done. I wouldn't have a problem renting it out again for 5x5 games. read more

In the mood for a batting cage that is indoors out of the weather and isn't expensive and isn't crowded. This is where I go when getting warmed up for softball season. I haven't used any of their other services. It's in the KMart shopping center. They have an indoor basketball court, pitching cages, and batting cages, small pro shop, and personalized instruction. I go there for the batting cages with my son. I give it 3 stars not in a negative way, but for my simple wants they can fulfill it. They aren't fancy new pitching machines, but it's good enough me, thus the A-OK evaluation. They have bats and helmets there that you can use with no additional charge. There are 4 cages, each has two setups: varying baseball (slow, medium, fast) or slow pitch softball. It's where I go when I need to swing at some balls. read more

I have taken my daughter here several times for softball batting practice. There's usually little to no wait to get a cage. When she needed to replace a worn out glove, we went to several places that either had no customer service or no selection. Remembering that Grand Slam sold gear too, we went to have a look. The staff was super helpful, answered all our questions and found her the perfect glove. The price was competitive as well. A great experience. read more

Made a lesson for fast pitch. My daughter recently joined a softball team and wanted to improve her pitching skills. Called up, made an appointment for a lesson. Even had a pretty detailed conversation about what my daughter needed to work on, I was assured that I was coming to the right place. I was also told that I'd receive a confirmation and reminder call or email. After not receiving either I decided to call the day of the lesson to confirm. Person on the line seemed very confused. I was told that my daughter was actually scheduled for a hitting lesson as this particular coach does not offer pitching lessons. I asked if anyone else could give her one? I was then put back on hold and got the owner on the line. He then reiterated that the available coach did not offer pitching lessons and stated that I must have made the error, not the person who booked the lesson. No remedy was offered as well as no apology. I guess they don't need my business which is just fine! I do not plan on ever giving them one dollar! read more

I took my 10 year old son here to bat at the cages a few times in preparation for baseball season. After his first baseball game it was clear that his mechanics needed work. I scheduled a private lesson with Amber Parrish even though I was unsure how my son would react to having a female instructor. When we got to the lesson Amber was friendly and easygoing and my son immediately liked her and felt comfortable. Amber assessed his swing and began to demonstrate and instruct him on proper technique. With each adjustment she made his swing got better and more powerful. She provided him with constructive feedback in a very encouraging manner which allowed him to relax and focus on what she was teaching him. When he missed or the ball went the wrong way Amber would ask him what he thought went wrong, to be sure that he understood how each little fix she showed him affected his swing. By the end of the 40 minute lesson my son's swing was completely different than the swing he started with. He left the lesson with more confidence in his abilities and happy. When I asked him what he thought of the lesson he said, "Wow, she really knows what she is doing". Coming from a 10 year old boy, that is the highest of praise. I highly recommend Amber if your child is in need of batting lessons. She is well worth the money! read more
