Wow. I am not the kind of person to EVER leave a bad review, especially to a small business, but Grand LV Nails takes the cake for the WORST salon l've ever been to. I booked for a mani-pedi for two, but came in with three friends, which they were able to accommodate, which is probably the only redeeming thing about this place. I specifically asked the nail tech to put acrylic over my natural nails when I sat down as they were quite grown out and I didn't want extensions. She looked over my nails and started to pry a loose edge of my acrylic off with a tip! I then asked her to soak the nails off as I didn't want them to be damaged, so she proceeds to cut them down, INCLUDING MY NATURAL NAILS in order to soak them off. Unfortunately, I didn't realize until she was almost through with my left hand. I was shocked, but she said she would fix it. They took me back for my pedicure, which took an hour and a half, and when I tried to ask the lady doing the pedicure not to cut my cuticles, she didn't understand what I was saying. She also used a scrub brush that looked 10 years old! When I was through with the pedicure, my friends that I had come with had already been waiting for some time, and I still had the manicure left to go, so safe to say I Ubered back. A new nail tech had been assigned to me, and apparently she didn't know how to remove acrylic, she kept soaking, then buffing, probably about 5 or 6 times until she called the OG tech back, who then took over. I sat there crying as she proceeded to apply the UGLIEST set l've ever had the displeasure of wearing. I was hoping this would be one of those trust the process moments, but I was so wrong. The end result was scary, and the nail tech even said she felt bad for me, and offered me a punchcard for my next time back. No thanks. Not to mention the full set + tip (yes, I did tip) cost me over $150. On a college student budget, this was devastating. French nails should be the baseline, these look like dentures. read more

Got there at 4 as a walk in, didn't get seated to like 5:30 which is understandable because it was a little bit busy but the fact I was there till closing which is unexceptionable, I got a full set acrylic which should not take that long, the guy doing my nails had no idea what he was doing and didn't even apologize when he cut me. I've come here many times and it just keeps getting worse! When I make an appointment, I've waited up to an hour and a half. The worst time was Mother's Day when I made an appt for me and my mom. When we waiting over an hour to get started, I was told it's a holiday weekend and that's what I should expect but then why take my appt? Then I got started and they didn't start my mom until 30 minutes later when they started other people who had later appts first. I've also come with kids and they have done one kid at a time and then expect me to stay while they wait to get my nails done. It beats the point of going and having the experience if we are there for 3 hours. After waiting 60 min for service with an appointment, I had a gel manicure done by Kim- sloppy with dust on the nail polish so it was bubbly and bumpy. It started peeling and chipping within 2 days! I went back and was told the wrong acetone was put in the bottles! Hanna is incredible. She has been doing my nails for years and is always open to learning new techniques that I ask for. She works with you to get you in when you can and make sure that your requests are met. As any other business, this business is trying to complete a service. The vibe is peaceful and the people are sweet. Open communication goes a long way and I appreciate Grand LV Nail Spa for having that!! I have gone here since high school and I still stop when I am home for the holidays. The salon is CLEAN. The reviews that say otherwise are lying. This is a nail shop not a hospital so complaining about the soap type in the bathroom is ridiculous. It's soap it will clean your hands. Do NOT come here, I do not know why it's so hard to find a good nail salon now a days. This was after a gross encounter with a previous one in Fishkill (see previous review). Arrived, waited a long time. Hey that's fine, I had no appt.. the manager kept checking it and it was a pleasant encounter. I sit and notice the tools she brought out were... open and the nail cuticle cutter was just out. I requested a clean unopened package, she looked at me like I was insane. She opened one in front of me and poured it over the other tools (see photos). How gross. What's even more gross is there is no antibacterial soap IN THE BATHROOM and at the sink where you wash your hands post manicure. DISGUSTING. Super unsanitary conditions. Now let's get to the good part. After the pedicurist rolls her eyes at every request (the tools, asking her to layer with a different color, and not wanting to cut my nail only file), she does a subpar exfoliation job and massage. Whatever as long as the paint job is good. Even though I'm paying she should say ANYTHING about my request that really weren't that crazy... Toward the end I ask for an acetone pad to wipe off the nail polishes I tried when I first walked in and placed it to the side. She was rushing to finish me as the manager told her that her next appt is here. She finishes, grabs the acetone pad, then my leather Birkenstocks. I TOLD HER NO x2, you even see me reach for them. As soon as she walks away to place me to get my nails dryer, immediately wipe it off since it has dying properties, the color is coming off (see pictures). The manager is pulling fast ones, oh it will dry off he says! NO?! hello? So I say oh yeah? I'll wait a few hours to see... and I did.. and guess what, minimal improvement. He then says it's fine and doesn't ruin leather, a simple google search easily proves him wrong. Then he says he'll talk to her about the word "No" LOL. I don't care about that. Manager disappears and I talk to the woman in the front with a bad blonde dye job and SHE LAUGHS and says they're old shoes. I said miss girl, I will not only pull up the receipt, but let's check the cameras that were right on us during the procedure. She called the manager (lol). I gave them an ultimatum- pay for the dye job or give me the pedicure for free. UNBELIEVABLE He fought me on it asking me to wipe my shoes that didn't have the acetone, NOTHING CAME OFF. Absolutely atrocious! We scheduled 3 pedicures over a month ago, one would imagine those would be completed at the same time as we were all coming together, but no. Instead we were there for THREE HOURS. Perhaps consider not talking excessive walks ins, and not disrespect other people's time when they've scheduled something in advance. After waiting THREE HOURS my sister finally got hers done, she requested gel MULTIPLE times, and instead got regular color. After pointing that out, instead on apologizing and fixing THEIR mistakes she was told by the owners wife "oh honey, if we take it off it will be all over your toes, when you come back next time, ask for gel." My sister has been going there for years, and has referred an insurmountable amount of people there, and to treated like this is beyond disgusting and disrespectful. I myself had a horrible experience in the past. I went there a few days before going away to Europe. My normal tail tech was unavailable so the owner of the salon did them. When I tell you it was the most horrific looking job I've ever had done, it's an understatement. And then they had the audacity to charge me $80. I called and spoke to my usual tech as I was I the verge of tears, and begged him to fit me in and fix my nails, which he did. When I went in, even he was horrified by my nails. He fixes them, and instead of the owner comping the job, I was charged another $60!? I should have know better and stayed away for good. Horrible business! Terrible experience here today. I only went here because I was pressed for time and my usual nail salon could not fit me in.  I'm never going to this place again. I spent the majority of my pedicure swatting bugs off of my. There were fruit flies all over me during my pedicure. They would not leave be alone. I think they were attracted to the acetone my nails were soaking in. When I walked in I showed the man at the door (owner) that I already had dip powder on my nails and wanted to get them redone. Asked for price he told me $35. No prob. After my awful bug filled pedicure the woman who did my finger nails was terrible at her job. She took the old powder off leaving my fingers covered in stuck cotton that wouldn't come off,  filed me real nails down to almost nothing,  filed them so crooked I took the Emory board from her and finished filling them myself. Then to add insult to injury she told the guy at the front to charge me 66. 26 for pedicure and 40 for nails. I told her the owner said 35. She kept saying no its 40. I asked her to get him for me. Well they ended up charging my card 94.72!  I'm like what??? He came out from the back to fix the problem wanting to credit and recharge. I said no because refunds take up to a week there's no way you're holding nearly 100 dollars for a week. Plus you told me 35 for the dip. He said oh we charge extra 5 to remove the old one. Why didn't you tell me that? I showed you my nails,  you knew what I had because you asked me if these were my real nails I told you yes. Plus my regular salon NEVER charges to remove. This is crazy. Instead of admitting his mistake and not charging me for the misunderstanding AND overt charging my card he still charged me the 66. I asked for the balance back in  cash. He gave it to me and said we're even when actually we weren't because the credit card fee he charged me was based on the higher amount so no,  we're not even but u want interested in nickel and diming at that point I just wanted to get out of there. The end result? Well I'll let the pictures tell the story. These pictures were taken 15 mins after I left the salon. Never going back there again. I highly DO NOT recommend. read more

I went here for the first time for an ANC mani. I went around 3PM and was helped promptly, getting out in under an hour. Staff is incredibly friendly and kind. I can't recall who did my nails, but she did a wonderful job. I would definitely go back again. It was $35 for ANC. read more

Let's just start with the rude bitchy owner, Hanna who always seems to have an attitude because she chose being a nail technician as a career. The only good thing that comes out of the salon is Kim who does a lovely pedicure but is extremely over worked because everyone relies on her. This often leads to customers being upset with the extended wait time to see her even though you have an appt. Grand LV is pure robbery. I received a full set of nails and ended up paying over $100 including a tip, which is was ridiculous. The nail tech disregarded my original nail idea and went with his own ($$$$). Less than a week later, two nails broke. A few days after those nails broke, another one went. I went in to have my nails fixed for the THIRD time and was treated with the utmost disrespect. I wish I didn't even have to give them one star. I went in with dip powder on and my nails were short so I asked for tips. it was like they've never done dip powder before. I got French on two nails and they completely covered my nail with white powder so you can barely tell it's French. the color I chose was a gel color that they tried matching to a dip color which they didn't tell me and the color is not even remotely close to the one I chose. it is 5 days later and I am missing 4 nails, two other ones are cracked and split down the middle. They also charge $5 to remove dip powder. I spent so much money that I wasn't told I was being charged for nor was it on the board that things were extra. I now have to go get my nails done somewhere else even though it's only been 5 days. I went with two other people and they are experiencing the same thing. we will never go back. read more

I've been getting my nails done here for over a year- they do an amazing job. I always get a ton of compliments on my nails. They don't take appointments on the weekends, just walk ins, so sometimes they are quite busy, but I've figured out some of the less traffic times and don't usually have to wait long. He is a true master at what he does and I have never left disappointed. Zero rating. Grand LV does not honor appointments - they are horrible! I have had two separate occasions where I made a pedicure appointment and both times I had to wait for Kim 30plus minutes. It seems they take walk-in's and do not honor previous set appointments. After two occasions of this mistreatment, I no longer give Grand LV Nails my business. My friend has been patronizing them longer and on all occassions, she has had to wait 30 plus minutes for Kim. On every occassion, my friend had appointments with Kim. There are many other reputable nail spas within the area who are more deserving of our business than Grand LV. Based on the above, my rating is Zero! I've had several bad experiences. After the fourth one, even though I like Kim and she is very skilled, I will not go back. I also feel compelled to write this review. With the exception of Kim, most of the staff are rude. The pedicures I've had are substandard. And unless you are the first appointment of the day you will wait an extended time frame. If you are the first appointment, be prepared to wait, they are often late. read more

AVOID THIS ESTABLISHMENT AT ALL COSTS!!! Booked an appointment to Grand LV nails for an acrylic nail removal as my normal place was booked and I needed my acrylics removed before I went away, as I didn't have time for a fill. First they were 30 mins late in taking my appointment. I'm always frustrated when businesses ask you to book a time but don't take you quickly. I find it especially irritating when that business is not busy and they take awhile to see you. But being unable to take me quickly I can forgive, what I CANNOT is the process they utilized to remove my acrylic nails. Rather than soaking them off and filing down, they used another acrylic nail to pry them off of my nails! Not only was this process painful, it ripped off the tip of my nails leaving them short and stubby. Additionally, there are now small marks under my nails from the nail tech (if I can call her that) pulling and causing my real nail to separate from my nail bed. When she began the process I thought that maybe she was only going to utilize this method for a couple that had lifted pretty badly and would be easier to pop off, so while I thought it odd I didn't question. About halfway through though I did ask about why she wasn't soaking them off to which she just giggled and shrugged. At that point I should have left the establishment and wish I had. They are clearly not interested in nail care or proper nail technique and it's at the expense of their customers. This is absolutely not a proper technique for acrylic nail removal and I will be reporting their business to the health board based on these practices. Beware this establishment if you'd like to maintain happy healthy nails. There are much better nail salons in the area who will take their time and treat you and your nails well! Next time, I will wait it out rather than ever going to this business again! read more
