Ambience and service
The ambience is genuinely beautiful, with warm lighting, elegant table settings and a very "fine dining" feel from the moment you walk in. The interiors are thoughtfully designed and the staff is attentive, courteous and professional, which really elevates the overall experience and makes you feel well taken care of.
Presentation and style
Food presentation is excellent, and they have a unique serving style that makes dishes arrive looking special and Instagram-worthy. From the way the grill items are brought out to the plating of desserts and drinks, you can tell a lot of thought has gone into the visual side of the dining experience.
Food quality and taste
Unfortunately, the taste doesn't match the presentation. The standout item was the chicken malai boti, which was tender and flavorful and honestly the only dish we felt was worth coming back for. The chicken wings, on the other hand, were not marinated well and lacked spices, depth of flavor, and even basic seasoning like salt, while the chicken korma was strictly "okay" and nothing memorable. The chicken masala biryani looked great but was far too dry, which really took away from what should have been a comforting, hearty dish.
Drinks and dessert
On the positive side, their lychee mocktail was refreshing and quite good on its own. The kulfi falooda was also decent--not the best we've had, but a pleasant way to end the meal and better than many of the savory dishes.
Pricing and overall value
For the very high prices they are charging, the food really needs to deliver, and right now it doesn't. It's sad to see such beautiful interiors and refined presentation held back by inconsistent cooking; without a stronger kitchen, this place will struggle, just like the previous restaurant Aadab at this location that also started strong (we used to love their Hyderabadi biryani) and then went downhill. Overall, Qalander is a 3-star experience for us: great ambience and service, but not a place we'd rush back to for the food at these prices.
