Dr. Tiffany and the entire staff at OPFD are the best! They always make me feel comfortable and welcomed. I highly recommend OPFD! I actually keep up with my dental cleanings now lol! Dr. Tiffany has decades of experience and a true professional. In addition to cleanings I also had a problem tooth that OPFD helped me with. It ended up needing a root canal and they referred me to an Endodontist and I was seen that same day. I was able to finish with the crown here and the whole process was easy and smooth. I couldn't be more thankful for Dr. Tiffany and the whole gang! read more

This is the correspondence from the office manager today. Very unprofessional. read more

Grand Dental - General Dentistry Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

If you have kids who have ever gotten sick or ever find yourself sick, I do not recommend choosing this practice. I received a $100 bill for an appointment I had to cancel inside of 24 hours when my five year old son had strep throat. Multiple calls to the practice to ask about the bill have been ignored and I believe I am now being sent to collections. So if you are hoping for a practice with compassion or understanding then look elsewhere. I understand the need for cancellation fees but $100 seems extreme. Additionally I had issues with billing for a device and an appointment to fit a device when they hadn't even received it yet (I sat in the chair for 30 mins while they tried to figure it out).I was understanding of these instances but the courtesy was not returned. read more

I chose Dr. Hoffman due to many positive online reviews. However, I suggest you go elsewhere. He recommended that I have a bunch of additional work done on my teeth to fix my overbite and crowns. I have not had any pain, but he insisted that we fix the problem before I feel any pain. I thought this was strange and did not schedule any further appointments, despite his urging. I now have a new dentist. I did not mention any of the recommendations that Dr. Hoffman suggested, and sure enough, the new dentist only recommended I go for routine cleanings and for one filling. Dr. Hoffman was recommending fixing my crowns, overbite, and additional work up that did not make any sense. This was unnecessary; any way to make more money, right? Do not go here. There are more dentists out there who are honest and won't charge you for unnecessary, additional work. Make sure you review all the charges before he tries to write up every cost imaginable. You'll be paying out of pocket because insurance will deem it unnecessary and frequent treatment. Be aware. read more

Great dentist, terrible front office staff. Or one of them is anyway... long story short, asked about the bill and how we could work together to properly code so my insurance would cover it for my daughter. I was basically told to go pound sand, that's not what they do (even though I told them my other dentist somehow works with me to code according to my insurance), and I have to pay full price. Hoffman is a great dentist - affable, caring, and helpful. His staff has lost him a patient, however. She was so bloody rude that I cancelled my upcoming appointment and I'll be finding another provider. Customer experience is actually a thing. read more

2 weeks ago, I came in for a routine cleaning but they started scaling/measuring my gums. I did not know that it has additional costs. Anyway, I presented my insurance and had to pay extra for that for $88. They told me to come back for a few fillings and a possible wisdom tooth extraction. I am on my second trimester of pregnancy and I had to make sure that my Obgyn confirms that it is okay to continue doing so. I emailed them my xray from my previous dentist. I also gave my Obgyn the dental office's number. Anyway, they kept on sending my appointments via text to my husband's number and haven't heard from them at all regarding the extraction. Yesterday, I came in for the filling. Dr. Hoffman said it is the tiniest cavity that he has seen in his 42 years of doing dentistry and only did one filling because I won't need anymore than that. Contrary to what the first dentist from the first routine cleaning said. Dr. Hoffman also mentioned that there is no rush to do the extraction. I just wish they were more consistent. Dr. Hoffman is polite and made sure that my condition as a pregnant woman is being taken in consideration. Angie the receptionist, tried to charge my card twice after the filling. Every time I do a procedure I like to know how much I will be paying and sadly I always pay more even with my insurance. I was told last time that the filling would only cost $102 but I was charged $155 yesterday. She said she was having card reader issues yesterday. She asked me to dictate my number in the reception were there other patients waiting. I honestly don't see it as safe. Today, I got a call from Angie asking again for my card number. She wrote the digits down. I asked her if I could stay on the line to make sure that the payment goes through because it is already the third time. I was trying to do her a favor and make sure that I don't owe them anything. Instead I hear a passive aggressive snarky tone from her. read more

Copied over from my review on Dr. Hoffman's old yelp page before the name change! I have been coming to this dentist's office since I have had enough teeth to need a dentist! The staff is awesome, very friendly and helpful. I base my choice in dental insurance on if this office is included in the coverage network. They have done a TON of dental work on both myself and my father, and neither one of us has ever had a problem. Highly recommended!!!!! read more

Hi! This review is on behalf of James Rivera, who is on staff as a brilliant esthetician! I met James about 18 months ago elsewhere and we had an immediate connection, not just because he has helped me work on my body with iLipo treatments, yet because he is super kind, funny, intelligent, compassionate and friendly! I actually followed James to Oz Park Wellness because I didn't want to work with anyone else! James is extremely knowledgeable in his field and overall as a health and wellness professional! He is also prompt, considerate, detail-oriented and just fantastic! I look forward to my visits with James, as I feel like I am going to meet an old friend to catch up. If I can go to an appointment like this and have a great time, there is truly something to be said about the service provider ;-) James is the best in the business and look forward to continue to work with him as I approach my wedding and beyond!!! read more

This place is absolutely awful. They yelled at me on the phone for not paying the "late fee" that they kept sending me. Rudest office staff I have ever encountered. read more

My regular dentist moved away so I needed to find a new one. Oz Park has great reviews and is in the neighborhood so I gave it a shot. The actual cleaning was good, but then I got the bill. Upcharges on top of the regular cleaning, leaving me with $150 after insurance. I have never had more than a $30 copay for a cleaning in the past. Next visit Dr Hoffman scheduled me for a "2 part appointment" to go over my XRays and additionally consult about my teeth on top of my cleaning. (No major dental problems here). Something doesn't seem right. I think I will keep looking for a new dentist. read more

Their charges are exorbitant! Don't go! They hiked up the price tremendously! Angie has left and the front desk staff is super rude!

I recommend this office and Dr Hoffman highly as they are taking safety procedures very seriously and made me feel comfortable and safe. I was very nervous to have a dental cleaning but from the moment I called and Angie talked me through the extreme measures that the technicians and dentists were doing, plus the new air filtration system - I kept my appointment. I went in today. I was the only person in the waiting room - temperature taken - and I was pre screened on the phone prior to the appointment as well - Felt very odd to take my mask off but the hygienist had 2 masks on and a shield and extra protective gloves. The cleaning was shortened a bit as no tools were used except for scraping so no aresol spray. The dentist and hygienist change their lab coats between patients. I am so glad I could care for my teeth and gums and feel safe doing it. Thank you Kathy Angie and Dr Hoffman read more

Horrible experience here!!! Do NOT go! At my first appointment, I had a very thorough evaluation from Dr. Hoffman. They took a full set of X-rays and said when I come back for my next appointment in 6 months, we would review them. In fact, they said I'd see 2 different appointment times on my next appointment, both 8am for a cleaning and 9am for a full review of my X-rays and mouth. I thought 2 hours seemed like a LOT for a young woman with no dental issues. But I went along with it and took the sick time off work. I got my confirmation text for my 8am and 9am appointment and went yesterday. As soon as I sat down for my cleaning, the woman said "we saw a cavity on your X-ray 6 months ago so before you leave, we will need to schedule a filling". I said "ok, I'm here for 2 hours though today, can we do it today?" And she said "no, you're only scheduled for a cleaning." Weird.... after a 30 minute cleaning, the female dentist came in and said everything looked great. I could go, but remember to schedule that cavity filling. So at this point, I'm upset because 1) they've known about a cavity for 6 months and didn't say anything and 2) they told me this was 2 hours and it was 30 minutes of cleaning. So now I need to take more time off of work . I called the receptionist when I left. She is a very sweet lady, but admitted they should have called and told me that Dr Hoffman could not come in yesterday for some reason and he had the other dentist covering for him. According to the receptionist, Dr Hoffman "told her she didn't need to tell me because I was coming in anyways", and she listened to him. I also asked if it was standard practice to not tell someone about a cavity for 6 months, and she had no response. I will not be going back, and I'm writing this review so hopefully no one else goes through this. read more

UPDATE: Apparently when I made my last appointment they scheduled me for a six month checkup. I never confirmed the appointment, because of the update described below. Well, I got a bill for $95 for a missed appointment! After my first voicemail there was no reply, but I just called again and they agreed to waive the fee. Seems like I got hit a couple different ways in an attempt to get a few extra bucks. The initial appointment seemed good, but after all this, I'm finding a new dentist. UPDATE: I got a call from Dr. Hoffman's assistant the other day telling me that he had a chance to look over my ex-rays and noticed that I needed to come in for a filling, etc. It took me off guard, since when I was there he had mentioned a few small problems, but said that there was nothing worth worrying about immediately. Unless I missed something, this seems like a potential money trap. He didn't seem like that kind of a guy, so benefit of doubt here, but I'm just not sure. If there's one thing I learned from watching Doc Hollywood, it's the the facade of elitism and fanciness is a whole lot of crap when it comes to doctors. The fact of the matter is that they deal with blood and guts, or in this case spit and plaque. It's not a fancy job, and I'd rather visit a place with smart folks who know what their doing than a place with a DVD collection and fancy interior design. I feel like that's exactly what I got at Dr. Hoffman's. The place is simple - unassuming building, simple design, very typical. The people are great - friendly, efficient, understanding, and smart. The hygenist got me cleaned up, gave me some tips, and even made sure I was doing my daily tooth cleaning the right way. The doc came in and checked me out, told me there were a few very small problems, but nothing he would worry about for now. I really appreciate that type of honesty. He could have taken me for a ride. I was in and out, they billed my insurance, and I've got clean teeth. See you in six months! read more

Dr. Hoffman and staff are amazing. Everyone has a sense of humor and is very sincere. I'll list my favorite things: - They run on time!! This has NEVER happened at any other dentist I visited. - Dr. Hoffman explains EVERYTHING to you prior and discusses the options you have - All of the hygienists were very nice and personable... I have a feeling Dr. Hoffman tells them to be themselves! :) I was recommended here from a co-worker and have been so pleased! read more

Dr. Hoffman is the best dentist I've ever had. I've had to see him quite a bit from when I first broke a tooth at the grand opening of a Einstein Bros on an overcooked bagel dog. (long story) At any rate, Dr. Hoffman saw me 2 hours later, where all other dentists I had tried would have had me wait at least 48 hours to get seen. After fixing my tooth, painlessly I might add, we set up a consultation on my teeth and future plans for work. I had been pretty neglectful of my mouth and without making me feel guilty for it, Dr. Hoffman laid out an attainable and affordable plan, working within my insurance benefits for the year, to prioritize and solve my dental problems, one by one. I just finished getting aesthetic work done. It looks FANTASTIC! The other thing I really appreciate about him is the personal care element. After adjustments for my aesthetic work, he called me at home that evening to see if there were any issues, how did it feel, etc. Really great. His staff is fantastic as well. Ruth does cleanings and when I get out of her chair, my teeth are so clean you could eat off of them. Maybe not the best metaphor, but you get the idea. Highly recommended! read more

--I originally wrote this review when Dr. Hoffman owned the majority share of the office. I wanted to make sure those interested in Oz Park see it-- I've been a patient of Dr. Hoffman's for ten years now and I would recommend him and the "new" practice to ANYONE. Dr. Jozwiak and Dr. Ashley Orth are superb as well. - Angie at the front desk always greets you with a smile and is wonderfully pleasant. - The hygienists are wonderful (we miss you Ruth -- thank you Maribel for filling her shoes and doing a stellar job) and do a great, great job. - Dr. Hoffman is ALWAYS on time and gets you in/out as soon as possible. His bedside manner is wonderful. - The atmosphere is welcoming and helps put nervous patients at ease. The modernization of the office is a nice touch. If you need a new Oz Park is the way to go! read more

Unlike Michael C's experiences, I have never felt like Dr. Hoffman was attempting to get a few extra bucks out of me. In fact, I have had only positive experiences with Dr. Hoffman, and he is the first dentist that took the time to explain to me what was going on inside my mouth, and what my long term dental plan should include. He's also pretty no-nonsense, and doesn't try to fill teeth that aren't worth filling. He will say things like "Well, it's a tiny cavity. But even if it was in my grandmother's mouth, I wouldn't fill it yet. Let's watch it for 6 months and see if it gets bigger." Any doctor who thinks about every patient and considers "Is this the right treatment? Would I treat a family member in this way?" is on the right track, in my opinion. The hygienists are all pretty awesome as well, and while I don't have the best teeth, none of them have ever made me feel guilty/bad about it (unlike some other dentist offices). Aside from the awesome personalities, the actual dental work is very good. I have had some majorly huge fillings done, and none of them have given me any problems. He also custom fitted me for my sports mouth guard, and I am positive it has saved my teeth on more than one occasion! In summary, Dr. Hoffman is very personable, and his staff are kind and professional. I have found him to be very honest and he performs good dental work. As someone who used to really really hate going to the dentist, I can say for the first time that I actually like this one! read more

The entire staff at Dr. Hoffman's office is extremely polite, patient and courteous. Dr. Hoffman is a great dentist. He is professional and knowledgeable yet funny and makes you feel very comfortable during one of the more uncomfortable situations you can face; having someone prod around in your mouth. I once had a toothache and they scheduled me within 48 hours to take a look at it. Turned out to be nothing, but they didn't even charge me for the consultation. Janette (sp?) at the front desk is great, too; upholding the polite standards that I have come to expect from everyone in the office. When I have kids, I will be taking the whole family to Dr. Hoff's. read more

I'm actually writing a review for their esthetician, James Rivera. I have been working with James to achieve my skincare goals for quite a while now. I've sent friends and family his way because of how thorough and caring he is. He was able to use the Lumecca laser on my husband's face to remove three very large dark skin spots. He used this same laser on my face which removed several small red capillaries and little brown spots. All was achieved in only two visits! I also entrust him with my VIPeel chemical peels, micro-needling, and more recently Fibroblast on my lower and upper eyes which removed all puffiness and gave my eyes a brighter look. I'm sure it seams like I do a lot, but my skincare goals do not include using injections and James always has wonderful insight on what we can do to keep in line with my goals via the latest technologies (I fully support people who do injections btw, this is just a personal preference for my own skin). I highly recommend him, his kindness puts you at ease immediately and he's passionate about what he does. His follow up is also impeccable, he truly cares! read more

I love this guy. He's a funny and has a good perspective on taking care of your teeth. I had a few fillings patched in through him and he was great to get them all billed in; I saw his hygenist 1 month ago and walked away with a clean mouth and a painless experience. read more

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this practice - I'm so happy I found them. I'd seen an awful dentist previously, and Dr. Hoffman was able to quickly and painlessly fix the botched job that the previous dentist did. The hygienists and front desk staff are friendly and make a very noticeable effort to remember personal details about patients that make them feel like family. Dr. Hoffman is friendly, straight-forward, honest, and experienced. This practice isn't even in my neighborhood or in my insurance network and I'm still happy to go there. Highly recommended. read more

We recently had an unexpected visit to Oz Park Family Dental with my two-year-old who fell and knocked two of her top teeth out. Recently he straightened several teeth and adjusted my bite and I couldn't be happier. All I need now are cleanings twice per year and Dr. Hoffman still takes time out to check every one of my teeth personally. His rates are extremely fair and competitive. My expierence with Dr. Hoffman has been frusterating at best. After being a patient for several years, he starting charging me in addition to my insurance which pays "usual and customary" according to the zip code. When asked to waive the fee (as is a usual practice, confirmed by my insurance) they flat out refused even though I'd referd many friends and family. Uh, hi, this means you are charging more than EVERYONE in your area. Because of this I'd let him know I'd be leaving as a patient and he said he would waive fees to transfer my records. After finally finding a dentist I called back and he seemed personally offended when I'd asked him to honor his offer. As if I would have even thought to transfer records if he hadn't mentioned it to begin with?! This guy may look like a hippy but trust me, he's in it for the money. read more

I have been going to Dr Hoffman for 18 years and have had a lot of trreatment. He cares greatly about teeth and is all about prevention of future problems. From the beginning he took the time to discuss his long term dental plan for me. (Apart from the initial dying nerve and terrible crown which required a root canal, nothing else was super urgent so the pace was mine to make.) He listens to me and when I tell him I can't face replacing two silver fillings at the moment, he doesn't push. I also know that he will tell me if and when it becomes a dental rather than a cosmetic issue. Every time I have had treatment, Dr Hoffmann has phoned me at home to make sure everything is OK. He has even given me his cell phone number to call (after gum surgery) whenever I wanted to. The staff are all friendly yet efficient. I would recommend this practice to anyone and everyone. read more

Dr. Hoffman is an excellent dentist. He was described to me as a "dentist nerd" who gets excited about all the new dentist technology. He definitely cares about what he does. I was having some veneers done on my front teeth and he called me at home after the first apt. to check and see how I was doing. The whole staff is great too. After putting in the temporary's the staff would come in and check them out and rave about how they looked. It really seemed like they're a close family over there.
