Nothing like a happy hour margarita with some chips and salsa after a long day ! Nice waitstaff and love the artwork throughout the restaurant!

Continuously strong drinks and great food and service. I have been coming here for years and it never disappoints!

Decent Mexican chain. Got chori pollo, a popular chicken dish on their menu. Includes rice and refried beans. I substituted tortilla with salad. The highlight of this place is its decent Mexican food coupled with generous portions. It is operated and run by people of Mexican decent - servers, managers, etc. Menu is expansive with multiple categories- fajitas, platters, burritos, enchiladas, salads, etc - and within each there are recommendations that are highlighted. Price was upwards 15$-$20 but again portions are generous. Many servers were of Mexican descent, some with little English fluency. It was a bit hard to communicate. Ambiance was nothing fancy, Mexican decor, exactly how you would expect. Come if hungry or if wanting leftovers.

I stopped here last Friday night with my husband. Food and service were great. Classic Mexican restaurant, they give you chips and salsa when you sit down, they used to have a white ranch like sauce also which you can still ask for. They've updated their menu, to include birria tacos and some other fun options. I ordered the red queso tacos with carnitas and they were delicious.

Fajitas (chicken and steak) were delicious! Best I've had in a long time, also no skimping on the chicken and beef. Service was also very good. The happy hour margarita was okay, not much taste and kind of watery. Definitely will be back!

Chips & salsa (light hint of spice) given while overlooking the menu. The salsa was so good, i ate half my plate then finished off the chips & salsa! My waiter was was nice & attentative. He gave me just enough time to look at the menu & decide. There is A LOT on the menu. He said a couple spanish phrases which i understood because i understand basic Spanish. I fear for him coming across an ignorant "this is America. Speak english!" type of person. The staff speak Spanish to one another. After I was given my bill, he took the order of the table behind me & didn't speak spanish to them so maybe he just thought i understood. My food came out SUPER fast. I went to the restroom. Came back. Ate a chip & my plate was placed in front of me. Unfortunately, he set the bill down w/o me asking. I was debating sopapillas bc i'd never had that.

Happy cinco de mayo!!!! Super busy and served super fast! This family owned restaurant really knows what they're doing and how to handle fast paced dining! The aroma inside is AMAZING I cannot believe I've never discovered this place until cinco de mayo I feel embarrassed lol! Now THE FOOD oh my days YALL. THE FOOD IS AMAZING. LITERALLY THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD IVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. THIS IS THE DEFINITION ON TRADITIONAL FOOD. The green verde sauce was so tasty and it had the kick to it where it made my eyes water and mouth burn but it was so good I was scarfing it down with no complaints. We had a table of 5 right before closing and they still served us and gave us the freshest tasting everything! My experience here was out of this world. Everyone was so friendly and I have nothing bad to say about the whole thing. The only thing I would say is odd is the one bathroom stall in the womans restroom lol. IT WAS CLEAN but we were all waiting frantically to use the pot. BUT THATS NOT A REASON NOT GO. YALL NEED TO GO HERE AND TRY THEIR FOOD! The pricing is unbeatable and the extra cilantro had us all cracking up boy had a grass taco

Really good if burrito with steak! The green chili is a great addition if your a spicy person. Complimentary chips with the burrito so highly recommend to fill you up for sure.

I have been here a couple times and its always a wonderful experience. Complimentary chips and salsa, friendly waiters, authentic Mexican decor and an extensive menu. They have so many kinds of drinks, including a full bar. Plus, any kind of Mexican food you want, you can get! I usually get the shrimp quesadilla, which has cheese, shrimp, and caramelized onion inside and sour cream, guacamole, tomatoes and lettuce on the side. It's always served piping hot and it's a decent serving. I never leave hungry. My boyfriend always gets the "Burrito Azteca" which has basically every kind of meat stuffed in a burrito topped with more meat and pineapple. He has been asking to go back every day since. It's been 2 weeks and he's asked for this burrito every day and he constantly sends me pictures of it. He's obsessed. It's a wonderful place with plenty of options. You can't leave hungry. Plus, if you're into meat go for the super-meat-burrito-extravaganza!

Very very great food and service. I normally go to the Groesbeck one but the last 2 times I ordered the Burrito Fajita they've brought me the wrong- but still delicious- meal. Definitely sticking with the Chicken Chimichanga from now on. This location has never failed at getting anything wrong.

As someone who's lived in LA and travelled all throughout Latin America, a good Mexican meal is something I can always appreciate, and I know that's exactly what I will get every time I go to Grand Azteca. I've probably been here over 200 times in the last 5-6 years and have enjoyed each and every trip. The soft taco and ultimate nacho combination is heaven on earth for me. The white cheese, which I believe is Oaxaca cheese, that they use for the tacos and nachos is to die for. The food is always fulfilling, service always attentive and quick to respond to any needs you may have and the prices are reasonable. I really have no complaints about this place at all and every cinco de mayo or dia de los muertos that I'm in Michigan, I always stop by here.

The restaurant itself has a relatively small foot print where the tables are close together and where there are no frills about this place and definately a tad on the rustic side. Facility aside, this place makes some excellent authentic Mexican street tacos where my El Pastor and Asada taco's were well made, PACKED with meat (no scrimping here) and oh so tasty. Service is quite quick where once seated you get your food within a few minutes making this an excellent spot if you are on the run and looking for a good meal on the quick. Prices are cheap in my opinion where my three taco's and a coke came to just $12. NICE! Two things to note here is that the chips and salsa are not gratis but come at an extra cost and follow up once you get food was non existent in my case. Chips and salsa was not a big deal to me but lack of follow up prevented this business from getting a fifth star. Overall and my minor gripes aside, if you are fan of really good Mexican street taco's than this is a must visit if you are in the area! I wish this business was closer to my home in West Bloomfield as I would be a regular here for sure!

The meats was very tender & flavorful, veggies quite fresh and finished product very very tasty. As a cautionary note, the Salsa was probably a medium on the spicy scale and if you like your food mild you may want to ask for the mild salsa that comes with the chips. Other item of note here is the chips and salsa come gratis if you dine in where they were good but not quite at the level as the taco's which were over the top good! Relative to the restaurant and staff, the facility itself has a smallish footprint where there are just two tables and one very long counter with stools for indoor dining. My take of this is that much of the business is probably carryout. Staff was very friendly where you order your food at the counter and they bring it to you if you are dining in the restaurant. there was no table follow up at this point where it really operate as a quasi fast food joint which I was totally OK with, Overall really good food at a very reasonable price (2 steak taco's were $8) where the taco's are some of the best I have had in Metro Detroit. Let's just say they definitely improved ! We got an order of chips and their seasonal salsa, which was roasted red pepper, and it was very flavorful and delicious. I got a hot honey burrito with beans and rice and my gf got birria tacos. Also not pictured is a marg. Hot honey burrito was a lot of food! The rice is okay, a little bland and clumps together, unlike traditional Mexican fluffy rice. Refried beans are fine. Burrito is very filled and was super sweet from the hot honey which made it a bit hard to finish, but definitely enough food, and I probably could have eaten half. Birria tacos were delish and the consumé was super rich. Margs come in different flavors but they all kinda taste the same to me so far, and they're strong. Maybe a bit too strong? Depends what your goal is with them. Service was good, a little slow for us being at the bar, but nothing to be concerned about. I had the birria tacos and I thought they were really good! The meat was super tender and the consommé was really flavorful and well seasoned, I've had some other places that were pretty watery.
