Our older sons have attended other area private schools during their middle and high school years, including one that might be considered a more "elite" school by others. By a wide margin, FRA has been our favorite school. Just a very well-rounded and thorough education.

Harding had the opportunity to travel to FRA for Basketball State Play offs. With both sides fans energized and cheering with all the fever pitch of a NCAA Final Four game and Refs along with coaches leading there respected teams in the final seconds of a grinding game, order was maintained and fair play was on display for all to see. At the final shot to win the game FRA basketball team fell short on points but Player and Fans rose above it in an awesome display of sportsmanship to congratulate the visiting team. Several FRA Boosters/Fans wished us good luck in the finals and thanked us for driving the three hours up to support our team. Several told us, "Safe travels and we look forward to playing you next year". Two words to summarize; Outstanding School.

I'm a student here, and so many things are wrong with this school. For example, the Muslims are put above everyone else at the school, the "pepperoni" isn't even real pepperoni and tastes bland. All of the kids are always screaming, getting mad at each other, fighting, and bullying. It's horrible for me in the classroom. oh and also last year, we had to read a book last year that made me feel uncomfortable. It may be the education board for that, but regardless it still has. The same happened for this year. Also, they once forced us to sit outside in the sweltering heat for a soccer game some of us didn't even care about, which I am pretty sure against the law. Talking about against the law, they have cameras in the bathroom! That's a violation of privacy! This school is a very bad place to send a person of this type to as well: White (this is real). Student's Perspective - Culture: After being an educator for over 10 years, I have yet to meet a student who genuinely loves school. Many students love different aspects of school, but for a student to choose school over any other activity, the school would have to be extremely amazing or extremely laissez-faire. There is no doubt in my mind that if you send your child to this school, they will be successful if they follow the regimen to the letter. However, school for students can start as early as 7:00 am, if parents drop off their child early but no later than 7:40. As soon as they get into their advisory class (1st PD), the early arrival kids will begin working on a journal topic of sorts while they wait for the rest of the class to arrive. 3 days out of the week, advisory is used to have meetings around school culture with students, turning every student into a law abiding citizen, for the most part, and drastically reducing anxiety for everyone of them. Students rarely experience bullying, inequality, or unfairness from anybody at this school. They are heavily monitored and the expectation is for them to be quiet in the classroom, the hallways, and in other general settings while meetings are taking place. Where as for other public schools this might be just an expectation, the teachers and leadership team do a large amount of training to ensure that the expectation is enforced. If you've never been at this school while in session, it's impressive alone just seeing everyone move from class to class. One of the few things that students do get anxiety about, though, is the way the restroom is handled for them. They are only allowed to go during the first ten minutes of every class period. If they miss that time block to ask for permission, they aren't allowed to go. There is a system in place in case of emergencies, but too often I've requested someone to come relieve one of my students to go to the restroom after the reserved block and I don't get a response, so the child sits there holding it in. It has gotten better, but it's disheartening to see. The idea behind this is, child safety, protection of school property, and equity of a learning experience for all. I came to Ensworth last minute to attend high school my freshman year. They welcomed me in with open arms and did not brag at all about their success but let the school and there students speak for itself. Yes, this school is very exclusive Pre 1st - 12th but it isn't for no reason. I cannot even begin to explain how phenomenal the faculty and staff is at Ensworth. I can go back and visit many of my teachers and converse about my endeavors and the growth of the school. They truly care. Also the college counseling department is very helpful with the students college application process. In addition, academically I was more than prepared for college. Anyone to say any different probably comes from a rival school which is natural. As a student I use to hear it all the time. If you do not want to believe me look at where our graduating students are attending school and their accomplishments just in high school. For example, out of my graduating class of 105, 3 students where accepted to Harvard and that is just the beginning. The facts are indisputable.

'Nuff said. -Our grades teachers being seriously so fun, authentic and committed to both of my children's development in their time. Coming from another waldorf school it differed in the approach to academics, especially because where we were was K-12 and Linden is K-8. My kid got his butt served in the Academic area but the teachers worked with him closely to get him up to par and now he's excelling. -Not once has a teacher or admin not heard out my request or concern without action and/or empathy. -My middle schooler having some crazy great relationships with his teacher, like asking me to have them for dinner. -Strings Program has changed my Son's life. These relationships support my family to thrive in so many ways. I appreciate the efforts of the school in these seriously challenging times. I'll say, it's not utopia and it's not perfect but when I got up in there and reached out, did my part many came to meet me there. I think I'll stop there.

My girlfriend and I visited the Frances Bond Davis Theater to see the Portara Ensemble on a rainy…read moreafternoon. The performance was excellent, the acoustics were perfect, and everything went smoothly! The concert proceeds were donated to Make-A-Wish so we also got to hear some moving stories about the impact the foundation has. Overall, it was a great opportunity to see some art and listen to a wonderful choral performance.

This was the last school we toured and it was a definitely a "save the best for last" situation. Of course, I had no idea, but I asked the universe to lead me to the perfect school and OF COURSE, that's literally what I got. I just have to say FIRST, I'm soooooooo excited for my kids to attend here and SECOND when I entered this place I just felt overcome with tranquility from the music they had on, which was like meditation music and my kids (3) and (2) went straight to Priya, the director, which made me feel even more at peace. And then when my son asked her where his cubby was she said, "when you come back we will have one ready for with your name." I thought that was very sweet. Then when my kiddos kept playing with the paint bottles after I told them not to, she again very gracefully stepped in and redirected them. She didn't say no, or anything like that. Just, "it's not paint time," but "do you guys wanna come over here to check out the kitchen?" Once again, I was like YES!!!! We can't wait to start in the Fall.. I just loved it from the 45 min or so my tour lasted, and so did my kiddos. I have so much respect for what Priya is doing, thank you for making this mama feel like "this is our place."

The teachers are genuinely so caring, creative, and dedicated to the children. Our daughter has thrived in ways that we could not have predicted, both socially and academically. The activities they provide are so much fun for the kids, our daughter got to hatch baby chicks, grow butterflies and have so many hands-on, nature-based learning experiences. It's such a joyful environment for the children and we couldn't be more grateful.
