My name is Stuart Adamson and I'm an NCS alum class of 2010…read more First of all, the biggest contributing factor towards my distaste for NCS stems from the segregation of "Those with learning disabilities " and "Those without". Depending on who you were outcomes for the same scenario would be completely different. For example, if you had a learning disability and you were late to class because you were talking to a teacher from your previous class about something your outcome would've been that you would've gotten some form of punishment because, in my opinion, you were expected to know not to be late even though you had a legitimate reason for being late. On the other hand, if it was the same scenario for a student that didn't have a learning disability the outcome would've been you had a legitimate reason and just a slap on the wrist. Secondly, I can still remember freshman year and being so excited to be in the art class elective and for a split second feeling like one of the normal students instead of feeling like a lab rat in the special education herd. That was until some teacher, I can't remember who, came and got me and was like "You're supposed to be in this class!" like a prisoner who escaped and got caught. In my mind I was like "Well they didn't f***ing tell me that!". In my opinion the life skills class should be strictly for low functioning students not for students who are slow learners.Although I wasn't the least bit happy about being in the class I had to continue to attend the class even though I'm pretty sure that "Non verbal learning disorder" doesn't mean I'm not smart enough to do daily tasks. Lastly, if there's one teacher you need to avoid at all costs it's Ms. Bartlett. Senior year you're already under a great deal of stress to make sure you graduate. My senior year was her first year of teaching. I firmly believe that she took a job at her old high school as a way to get in easy. Now by this time we all had senioritis, which is when you're so close to graduation you just want to get that dang diploma and get the hell out of dodge. The way I remember it was that we could partner up to study for this exam - so we did. The next day going about our day one of the announcements on the monitors around the high school said for these students, me included, to go to the principals office. Oh the bucket of gravel I felt in my stomach. I had never been in a situation like that before so I was really nervous. 3 or 4 of us stood in front of 3 teachers to plead our case but I don't think they would've cared to take our side of the story. Punishment was early morning detention for several days. On top of that they gave us a zero for the grade on that exam. Then it was bumped up to a 75, which is still an F, but it was too little too late.

They were so kind and thoughtful in getting Wyatt acclimated to a new place and he loves them very much. A year later he has graduated to Ms. Sharon and Ms. Erin's classroom and couldn't love them and his friends more. He is learning everyday fundamentals like shapes and colors but also as important he's learning socialization skills and how to play and collaborate with other children. Any time we have had an issue the Director, Ms. Anne, has opened her door to us and we have discussed options and best next steps. It's never easy as a parent to leave your small child when you have to go to work, at least it isn't for us, but his face and demeanor light up when he sees his teachers and friends and that makes it a lot more bearable. We are so grateful to all the staff at AoHV including Ms. Ashlee and Ms. Chantel (who lends her time to visit the classroom and sing with the children) and we are happy to recommend AoHV (as we have many times) to friends and strangers alike as an incredible place to take your children.

Two weeks later, no refund and being told a refund can't be issued now and to take it up with corporate. Taking no accountability for promising a refund and will not make this right. We love GHCD so so much! As a first time mom, I was so nervous sending my twins (after COVID) to…read moredaycare after having them at home with me for 9 months. We found GHCD and it met/exceeded our expectations and I just felt so good about sending my girls there. Not only do they get a great education, but my twins LOVE it there. They love their teachers, their friends, and never have expressed that they weren't anything but excited to go to school every day. We are communicated with on a daily basis through the HiMama app, so we see everything they are doing during the day. We also feel that there are so many teachers who go the extra mile to make our girls feel seen and loved. I love that they pray before meal time and talk about faith on a daily basis. I also love that they are truly learning things (like the pledge of allegiance, and how to say their colors in spanish) besides just being watched during the day, which makes me feel like they are being set up well for the transition to actual school one day. Every single penny spent here is well worth it, and I am planning on sending our third there too!

Constant, egregious issues at NSCC. Can't get anyone on the phone. Email responses are irrelevant…read moreto the problem I need solved. All advisors have absolutely no idea what they're talking about. I gave my advisor the information page to see which classes would transfer to my university and she literally said "I'm not going to read all that". When I told her I wanted to check all information before registering for classes she said, "oh, well I already registered you" and they were the wrong classes. The google page will say they are open when they are NOT. I got a major change form from the student center and the advisor said "don't worry I'll take care of this for you". She didn't, and when I emailed her and her boss she claimed the paper form didn't exist, but I got it from the college themselves. This major change issue made me get rejected for financial aid, so I paid out of pocket. I had to drop a class because their webpages frequently don't work and I got a server error trying to pay. When I went to check on my legal name change after two weeks the student center employee said she thought the records department would come get it from her drawer, which means she just left my legal papers in her drawer and did nothing. I got conflicting information about how to be recognized by the college as an independent student to finish the FAFSA, which means I did unnecessary work and prolonged the process. I had a professor use biology class to push her political beliefs, required to do assignments about politics which had nothing to do with biology class. My A number mysteriously changed and the student center wouldnt help me until I showed evidence, because they said I just didn't know my A number. One time I was directed to the admissions department for help, and all staff, information online, and signs said they were open, I walked into a pitch black department with the doors unlocked. The FAFSA website says the Pell grant will be applied before you pay, it wasn't. So I had to pay out of pocket and then get a refund, which most Pell Grant students can't afford to do. I clicked the link for fee waivers and it takes you to the "How To Pay" page which doesn't have this form. RUN AWAY FROM THIS COLLEGE, STAY AWAY, YOU WILL HAVE ENDLESS REGRET.
