Rather than engaging with students and families with empathy and understanding, interactions often feel punitive and dismissive. Under the current leadership, this school does not meet the standards of an environment I could recommend.

There is no air conditioning in the gym and that's where the students go in the morning so if it's hot outside it's hot in the gym and if it's cold outside it's cold in the gym and their dismissal system is terrible and the only give students four minutes to go to the bathroom and get to class which is ridiculous because my son holds all the waste in his body all day which is very unhealthy and can cause sickness and if you're out more than two days with a sickness they contact you about it your child. They force students to participate in pep rally's and if the don't they get a write up.There are some gay kids there because my son tells me about how they make him very uncomfortable at school and all students are not treated the same and some teachers are racist towards students. They make students do well on TCAP and if they don't they get mad at them and give them a write up and they are very strict.

They have a smallish museum, in comparison to other National Park museums, but it is packed with facts and interesting artifacts. Outside there are trails to walk, and separate bike lanes. A paved parking lot is available near the Visitor's Center. In that building you can buy tickets and tour the museum. The shop has some souvenirs as well as some packaged snacks and bottled water. Restrooms are nearby. Adult admission for the one hour house tour and grounds is $22 per person. Children under six are free. The museum was small, but worth looking at before heading off on the tour. The one hour home tour was interesting and offered plenty of opportunities to ask questions. The guide seemed knowledgeable and enjoyed answering questions.
